This was done during COVID at different studios to lift peoples sprits. The first guy is Lee Greenwood. The other guy WHO AREN"T in uniform are in the very popular acapella group Home Free. There are no instruments being used in this song. The beat boxer for Home Free (Adam) does all of the percussion. Lee Greenwood wrote and sang this song back in the 80's and it is one of the most popular songs about the USA. Lee is a grammy award winning country artist.

I agreed it is a beautiful song and as a veteran an American Patriot it brings tears to my eyes hearing it but if you know the backstory Star Spangled Banner there's no way anyone can replace that as the national anthem just a short version of it Francis Scott Key was a lawyer in Baltimore and he met with the commanding officer at Fort Henry during the Revolutionary War the English had their Ships coming in the water full of American prisoners at the American had English prisoners he went out in the small boat to the English bolts to work a deal with the English to swap prisoners they came to a thing and said they would switch on 1 for 1 he went down to where the prisoners were being held under deck to tell them what happened he went back up and talk to the Admiral on the boat the Admiral told him it did really matter because the war would be over shortly I told him to look out on a ride we did he seen hundreds of Warships I told him that work complete English War fleet as if the war would be over by morning because they were coming to bombard that fort and said that all they had to do was lower their American flag and show that they surrendered at the whole thing would be called off there would be no attack and they refused he went back down to tell the prisoners what was going on and prisoners began to pray when the rest of the ship's got there attack started and continued all night long it was said that you could hear nothing except except the bombs bursting Francis Scott Key get the men continue to pray and the flag still stood but at a strange angle the Admiral said they could not figure out how that flag did not fall after Direct Hit to it many times through the night Francis Scott Key went back to the fort and see what had held at flag up that's when he wrote The Star-Spangled Banner what held that flag up at the angle that it was was American Patriot all through the night it kept getting hit and they held it as a Patriot was killed his body was removed in someone else replaced them all the words to it is what Francis Scott Key seen that night many patriots died that night make sure that flag did not hit the ground and come down that is the true story check it out and in WWII approximately 50000 Americans died on the beaches of Normandy to defend that flag so there is no way in hell that song could ever be replaced as our American Anthem God Bless America and God bless the American Patriot🙏🏼🇺🇸🦅

This song was originally released by Lee Greenwood during the Gulf War, back when it was still fashionable to sing about patriotism and about how blessed we are as a nation. This song is over 30 years old, but when President Trump had to pick a song for his rallies, this was the song he chose. Everyone who attends one of his rallies expects to hear this song and they're never disappointed. I have always loved it. The voices of the soldiers are very beautiful.

As everyone has mentioned, this is actually Home Free ft. Lee Greenwood and the Air Force Singing Sergeants. Lee said he loved doing this version because he could let his voice go since someone else can hold down the melody. This is 100% acapella, and done during the pandemic so it was recorded in separate locations. Home Free is an amazing acapella group, the vocal percussionist is Adam Rupp, co-founder of the group and he just sounds like real drums...all the members are extremely talented. They also do "American Pie" ft Don McLean the original artist, done for it's 50th anniversary.

That version was done during Covid in 2020... Mr Greenwood wrote it the year I graduated in 1983. I FIRST heard it at MY basic training from the USAF in 1988... I then ended up singing it at my air force base many many times... LOVE THIS SONG... I Love my country

Every time I hear this song i immediately start to cry. Coming from a military family I know the pride and also the sacrifices that all of the soldiers and their families make. It makes me even more proud of my dad, brother, grandfathers and other family members who have served and are still serving our country.

For me, it's the joy and happiness we feel being lucky and blessed enough to be born in the USA. As well as the pride and gratitude we feel for the brave men and women who put their life on the line for us, and those that made the ultimate sacrifice. An incredible tune honoring incredible people.

I am not sure when Lee did this version of his original song. I have listened to his first recording of it for decades. He actually had a music theater in the county where I live for several years. This is his signature song but this version is so beautifully sung and I love the video as well. How amazing that two foreigners brought it to my attention!! Thank you for honoring and valuing our United States with this reaction. God Bless you both and God Bless the U.S.A. 🇱🇷💙❤

The recording was done during the pandemic, the location was to show where everyone was at the time of recording. Besides Lee Greenwood (the older gentleman), the a cappella group Home Free and the Singing Sargents were performing. The instruments you heard in the background were all vocally produced by Home Free.

I can remember sitting at a Class-A baseball game in my hometown on a warm summer night, fireworks going off above the stadium, when my kids were little, all sticky from popsicles and candy, with this song playing in the background. You'd look around as the fireworks lit up the night to see everyone with tears in their eyes, each of us caught up in the moment, and yes, very proud to be American. I haven't heard this song in a long time, those sticky kids are all grown and gone, as is the baseball team...thanks for the memories Beesleys ❤🤍💙

The Home Free member who sings, "From the lakes of Minnesota," tenor Rob Lundquist, is from Minnesota, as is beat boxer Adam Rupp. The one who sings the line about Texas, bass (and tenor) Tim Foust, is a Texas native (now of Nashville). The one who sings "oh, from sea to shining sea," Adam Chance, who sings baritone and bass, grew up in Alabama near the Gulf Coast and now lives in Los Angeles, which is on the Pacific Ocean. The fifth member is high tenor Austin Brown, a Georgia native and current Nashville resident.

I remember that playing on the loudspeaker on the pier when the USS Nimitz was pulling into port, all the men in their dress whites lined up at attention along the edge of the ship. Over 2,000 spouses, children and other family members watching and waiting, and the Blue Angels flying overhead all in the same moment in time. It still brings chills to me 30 years later.

Well this was put together with the vocal band Home Free (an a cappella group). They sung Lee’s song years ago (in front of Mt. Rushmore) and Lee wanted to do an upgrade so they contacted the US Air Force and got their Singing Sergeants along with Home Free (the men with longer hair and beards)and sang this with Lee Greenwood. Lee wrote this back in the 80’s and it’s a great song. Love this….the Home Free beatboxer (shorter blond hair) was doing the sound of a jet at the last note! Look up Home Free - they’re a great group.
