I loved Millie’s reaction to the Carls Jr ad, she had me laughing so loud. Those ads were real big back in the day. I’m not sure how old this mojo video is but I can’t believe Chick-fil-A wasn’t on there it would have been number 1 or 2!

Worth mentioning that those Carl's Jr ads were from the 2000's and near the end of the decade they changed it from having a super model eating a burger to just talking about their new burger instead.

That was epic advertising. There ads are still pretty good but man just as good as the Jack in the Box advertising.

It's worth noting these ads were very tongue in cheek. They were purposely over the top with the sex appeal because yes it was just a burger commercial. So pairing burgers with super models was just a wink-wink joke, and yeah it didn't hurt in keeping people from skipping an ad.

It may be because there’s a lot less Chick-fil-A restaurants than the other restaurants around . specially probably seven years ago currently there are only 15 Chick-fil-A restaurants in Iowa but just in a 25 minute drive from my house there’s ten McDonald’s. There is approximately 131 McDonald’s in Iowa versus Chick-fil-A 15.

I don't know if you heard about the former main spokesman of Subway that was in the Subway commercial there, Jared, but he admitted to nasty crimes against children (saying it mildly) and in prison for 15 years. Shocked he was in this video.

A&W is a chain that used to feature drive-ins where you placed your order from a parking space through a microphone and they brought your food out on a tray that would hook on to your car (with the window rolled down) and you ate in the car. They are most famous for their Root Beer, which is sold in stores along with their Cream Soda.

Carl's Jr is known as Hardee's on the east coast.

But Hardee's didn't use to be the same as Carl's Jr. Hardee's was bought by Carl's Jr. Prior to that, the logo and menu was different. They had slanted letters in orange on a brown rectangularish background. There was no star in the logo. Their burgers weren't quite as thick. They also focused on fried chicken almost as equally as their burgers. It was a completely different restaurant.

Also in the midwest as far west as Missouri. I remember a few years ago while visiting family in California, they wanted to take me to a Carl's Jr. When I saw the menu, I told them it was the same as Hardee's in Missouri, item by item. Also, I do miss the chicken that Hardee's had back in the day!

A&W restaurants (hamburgers, fries, etc.) is from the owners/creators of A&W Rootbeer. These days you can find them in a combined restaurant with some Kentucky Fried Chicken restaurants, like the one near me in American Fork, Utah.

The only fast food place I crave on occasion is Taco John's which is based out of Wyoming I believe and all around the Midwest. And Culver's, another Midwest chain. Wendy's chili is pretty great tbh, though I haven't been there in years

I had to comment. You guys made me laugh so hard! Made my day! Millie’s reactions to the Carl Jr. ads are priceless. Carls Jr. merged with Hardee’s and it’s called either name depending upon the region. Chipotle is my favorite and definitely a must try! Sonic is huge. Jack In The Box is not in our area, but we visit when traveling south of St. Louis.

Domino’s changed their recipe around 2008. I checked the specials in my area and the pizzas are priced around $10.99 USD for a large specialty. That seems pretty reasonable to me. Is this much different than the price in the UK?

I really miss Dominos breadsticks. The twists are pretty bad. The quality has gone downhill as well. One time I ordered a specialty pizza and they put Kraft singles on it.... The only thing I get there now is the Pacific Veggie

Yes I haven’t been able to eat their pizza well except for the Alfredo pizzas but the tomato sauce base pizzas are just not as good as they were before they switched their recipe . At least that’s my opinion. Fortunately I really like their breads, pastas and sandwiches that’s my opinion

It was number 5 in 2018 in sales with 2, 400 stores that are opened six days a week and it is higher now. I hate their food but a lot of people love it.

It depends where you live on the east coast--hahaha. I've never seen a Carl's Jr or a Hardee's. I just looked up the closest Hardee's to me and it was a 17 hour drive--hahaha. I live in Massachusetts 3 miles south of the New Hampshire border.

Also equates food with an orgasm. Food, glamor and sexual innuendos have been in marketing for a long, long time. They create a desire. What’s more desirable than sex and food? Sexy food. Carl seems to be saying… Hey, you’re looking sexy, I’m looking sexy, let’s be sexy together. I rarely eat at Carl’s Jr. But I can remember as a child loving Hardee’s sausage biscuits and their hot dogs because at the time, no other chain had those on the menu. Hardee’s started on the east coast, by the time it hit the west coast, it was named Carl’s Jr. Same with Krystal and White Castle (same restaurant, different coast). And although they are individually franchised in a different locations 2500 miles apart, they all taste the exact same with the same menus. Back to the point though… It sure looks like the bacon and the bare thigh are having the intended affect on the target audience. 😉

That particular ad campaign was geared 100% to men when they rolled out their bigger, premium burgers, loaded with bacon and using Angus beef etc. It was a Superbowl rollout.

In Northeast Tennessee you can get a large 3 topping pizza from Domino's for $7.99. That's been the main carry out deal for years here. Arby's and Burger King are my favorite. Taco Bell doesn't have great food, but it's super cheap (some of the items are only $1) and is usually the only place open at 3:00 AM.

I knew the Carney family (founder of Pizza Hut). I was in theatre camp with their daughter as a kiddo. We performed for patrons in their massive living room. Their house was so big and amazing I still dream about it now and then. 😆🌻🌾

Yep not expensive here in Georgia. I was thinking the same thing. Pizza Hut has always been more with Dominoes being the cheap option. Before they got thier act together by upgrading a few years ago, Dominoes quality was pretty bad and alot of Americans would not eat there. Funny to see the situation flip flopped over seas.

I live on the easy coast.....we dont buy dominos or Pizza hut.....we have pizza everywhere....family restaurants. I love wendys......ours are square here. I remember being in London in 1991 and only saw "Tennessee Fried Chicken" lol.

One of the very first fast food places if not the first in America was The Automat. It was only ever in New York City and Philadelphia. They'd have these huge rotating things that would reveal fresh food when you put a nickel in it. There's a wonderful new documentary out about it called The Automat.

*Fun Fact!* McDonald's is a Chicago Illinois-based company. It has been headquartered in Chicago since the company's very beginning. Today their newest headquarters building is built on the site of the former Harpo Studios location. (Opera Winfrey Show) Chicago is home to the world's largest McDonald's tied with the Orlando location at 19,000 sq, ft. But also the true world's largest location with the corporate headquarters at 490,000 sq, ft. It's home to Hamburger University, As well as the corporate offices, and even a fully functioning public restaurant. Plus the campus is home to Mcdonald's test kitchens for new recipes for future menu items. I've been to it once since I live not far from it. It's a nice building. (It has 9 floors and spans an entire city block.) In fact, Chicago is also home to the *world's largest Starbucks* as well since I'm on the topic of large fast food restaurants. 😉

Don't know about other states but here in Maryland most Pizza Huts have Closed their Dine-Ins and only have Pickup or Delivery. Some locations have Closed completely. I do not know if this was due to the Covid pandemic or other reasons.

In Louisiana Popeye’s dominates KFC. It’s much more popular and has a lot more locations. As for me, I like fried chicken, but it’s not my favorite and I rarely get it.

Us GenXers from America had it the best when it comes to fast food...for starters, Pizza Hut in the early 80s was amazing! The pizza itself was so buttery and delicious, gigantic Pepsi cups with ice cold pitchers.. tabletop video games like Pacman, the atmosphere was dimly lit and inviting.. The whole family would go out for dinner on a Friday night before going to the movies to see Goonies or E.T.. McDonald's was much different too.. for starters the commercials on Saturday mornings were like watching a cartoon or kid show, the food just tasted better, the Happy Meals were in cardboard boxes COVERED in fun games and the toys were often cool and collectible.. it was often where we went for lunch on Saturdays after a long morning of watching cartoons...

I really find it interesting that in the UK Pizza Hut is cheaper than Domino’s because that is definitely not true here .Domino’s is probably the cheapest chain for pizza. ( except maybe little Caesars) And at least as far as I’m concerned Pizza Hut pizza is a lot better than Domino’s

Me too! It’s considered more expensive in Pa where I lived. And Dominos here has declined. It’s not as good as it use to be. Really Pizza Hut pizza isn’t as good to me either. Honestly,In Pa we have a large Italian community and many of our Mom and Pop pizza places are better so we really enjoy those more than the franchise pizza places. Oh,And Papa Johns has declined as well to many of us.

I’ve found that, in general, in the last few years, the quality of fast food has severely gone down and the price has gone up. To the point where I’m not sure how some of these places stay in business. The McDonalds and Taco Bells near me are so disgusting I almost can’t believe it. Chick-fil-A is still good but damn it takes forever to get your food. I could just sit down at a restaurant and pay the same amount. Just last week I waited 40 min in the drive through of a Burger King. What’s the point.

It depends sometimes. I still think some places like KFC can get away with being a little bit more pricey because the quality of their chicken is a lot better than most places. Other places, you get what you pay for sometimes.

We have buffets in usa.. TRY THEM they are reasonably priced LOTS OF CHOICES, ALL YOU CAN EAT, and if you don't like something you just set that plate to the side and go get different food... lots of dessert including the soft serve ice cream you do yourself.

Wendy's is very affordable especially for a 13 year old who rides his bike everywhere. I live just outside a smaller town. In idaho sales tax is 6% so the $5 biggie bag is $5.30 which is amazing.

If you are in the eastern half of the U.S. you won't find any Carl Jr.s . They are called Hardees here. Also, thier burgers are large compared to other restaurants but not as huge as they make them look in thier commercials.

Yeah, I'm going to have to disagree on the whole McDonald's thing. Although they certain were the most popular "first" fast food chain. I always liked The Whopper better than the Big Mac and for a while there, the McDonald's cheeseburgers had almost no meat in them. It was like this paper thin piece of something stuck between two buns. I will say that for the longest time McDonald's French Fries were the best but I don't think that is true anymore. I also think Burger King's shakes are better than McDonald's. Chik-Fil-A wasn't even mentioned on this list but has to be currently one of the top FF restaurants. I think Chik-Fil-A gets overlooked a lot by media because of their moral/Christian stand. Believe it or not, there is a lot of anti-Christian sentiment here in the states, specially by certain political groups and the media.

Yes, Chick-fil-A gets the short end of the stick all the time from the media because of fake charges of discrimination which have never been proven. Yes, they are owned by a Christian entity, but is that really so bad? In my opinion, that only increases their commitment to values of high standards and quality food.

Most of why Chick-Fil-A gets overlooked is not political - but that until very recently, Chick-Fil-A was mostly located in the Southeastern states. Nothing up north. Same reason why other restaurants aren't talked about much - Tim Horton's, In-and-out, Fazoli's, Jersey Mike's, Wawa, White Castle, Whataburger, Gino's, Del Taco, Weinerschitzel, Krystal, etc. all in only certain markets.

When I was a teen of the cruiser crowd, we drove up and down the same mile strip over and over. We would get fries at McDonalds, whopper at Burger King and drinks at Sonic. Now the three places are a last resort meal.

I had Domino's yesterday and it was super cheap. I got an 8-cut, 2-topping pizza, parmesan bread bites, and chicken alfredo (I haven't tried this yet) for about $20. That's at least 3 meals.

These might be the "biggest" fast food chains in terms of revenue, but they are by no means the best in terms of quality. I think the way they're ranked is by popularity across the world not by customer satisfaction. The best fast food chains in the US in terms of customer service and consistency in quality are Chick-Fil-A, In-N-Out, and Wendy's.

I agree. Not a huge fan of McDonald's except I do like when their fries are hot and their strawberry banana smoothies are good. I like their breakfast sandwiches too. I like Wendy's much better but you almost have to ask for fresh hot fries for them to be hot. Only downfall. LOL. I've only been at In-N-Out a couple times, not too bad, but hard to not associate it with my step-sister's death. I was inside in line waiting for my food when my dad called me to give me the news. I think about it every time I pass by the restaurant.

I live in New Jersey. Any pizza comes from local places never from a chain. We don't order Dominos or Pizza Hut. Some people will but they didn't grow up here. I prefer burgers from our diners so much better. I love Wendy's because they have baked potatoes but my heart will always belong to Taco Bell when i'm feeling like spending the rest of the day in the bathroom. It used to be White Castle but they are harder and harder to find.

My favorites are Bojangles, Taco Bell, Wendy's, Zaxby's, and Cookout. No order, depends on what I'm craving. Bojangles chicken biscuit with bo rounds and honey mustard, amazing! Taco Bell bean burritos and cinnamon twists, always hit the spot. Wendy's asiago ranch club with spicy chicken, no bacon. The fries are good too. And the sunburst melon lemonade. Double stack is good if you're wanting a burger that isn't as big as your head. Zaxby's has the best fast food salads, hands down. Any are good, my favorite is the Cobb with grilled chicken. The nibblers (chicken tender slider on a toasted roll) are so good too. Spicy Zax sauce or the hot honey mustard is great. Cookout, literally can't go wrong with anything in my opinion. But I gravitate towards the Cajun grilled chicken sandwich or the chicken tenders.

Wendy's hasn't been good since the 90's. The yellow box era of Wendy's was excellent! Hardee's (Carl's Jr) was good when they reinvented their menu years ago. Now there's only a few good items, and then it depends on if it was prepared correctly. Taco bell is unrecognizable to me. I tried it recently after years. The menu is totally different. Burger King whoppers are always consistent. Good once in a while. McDonald's is consistent. 1/4 pounder is my fave.

I think it's ridiculous Hardee/Carl's Jr doesn't have the same items on both menus. I grew up in California and my favorite was Carl's Jr Southwestern Chicken Sandwich, When I moved to the south and started working at Hardee's (in Tennessee) I was not so happy to learn they did not have it and vice versa with the breakfast items, I know that Californians would like the sausage gravy and biscuits (at least the people I know out there would, they are not crunchy). Heck, depending on where you are when you go to a Hardees (I am in Maryland now) you can't get biscuits and gravy for breakfast which people would love out here. It is kind of crazy ridiculous.

I'm and out is very west coast, not Woodley spread out through the US, Five Guys is still relatively new. McDonald's is very popular but also well known for having cheap ingredients. Most kids love, but a lot of adults grow out of it. Chick-fil-A is a new VERY popular place. Chipotle and Freebirds ( better off the 2 but not as wide spread) are kinda like Subway, where you pick what goes in it, but for burritos.

Check out a channel called Your New Zealand Family (Mom, Dad, daughter and son). They react to alot of the same type of videos you do. Taco Bell recently arrived in New Zealand. They recently posted a video of them traveling two hours to try the closest Taco Bell to them. (They loved it.) They are a nice, wholesome family and their channel also features their 12 (?) year old daughter doing cooking segments, recreating the top food in each State. She's awesome at cooking from scratch. They also recreated a traditional Thanksgiving meal.

I have refused to eat dominoes here for years.. it's cheap pizza here btw.. maybe I'll try it again if they changed recipe. In Fl, pizza hut and papa John's chain are well liked.. but local small pizza joints are usually more pricey but worth it. We have a Giovanni pizza here in THE Villages near me and they make the best Italian food.. line goes out the door.

When living in New Mexico I loved Carl's Jr because I could buy a burger at 6:30 AM on the way to work. Domino's is still inexpensive here in Texas, $7.99 for a 3 topping pie if ordered online and picked up.

In the US, Domino’s is a lot more trashy as the food laws are more lenient. That is probably why it is cheaper here in the US. Overseas, I have found ALL US chains better because they use fresh or better ingredients. After not being a fan of Greek food, the airport McDonalds was the best I have ever had!

In America Pizza Hut was Always The #1 Pizza place to go & Domino's was the lowest level cheap trash Pizza place to go. You would choose Godfather's pizza, little Caesars & Any local Mom & Pop Pizza Restaurants before you chose Domino's. Since they changed their Recipe Domino's actually Has Nice tasting Pizza Now.

Chick-fil-A outsells every chain on that list with the exception of McDonald's. Carl's Jr. might have interesting commercials, but isn't anywhere near the top 10 most popular in the US. Except with MOJO apparently.
