Tribute to the men and women that fought in Afghanistan. UK Forces left Afghanistan 1 year ago but we will still remember the sacrifice these men and women paid for.
10 years this year since I deployed on herrick 16. Pains me that the lads we lost on my tour are long gone, a whole decade which seems like a lifetime now. They wouldn’t even recognise the world. Afghanistan took a part of me which I don’t think I’ll ever get back. RIP.
So many posts showing so much respect, it was our pleasure to serve you. I like so many other service personnel have deployed too so many operational theatre's, however my jewel was Afghanistan. I deployed on Op Herrick 10 2009 in a hostile place called Musa Quala Helmand, this was to be the best and worst tour of my 22 year career. I learnt a lot about myself and add to that it was hostile and dare i say unforgiving. We lost a lot of Brothers, Sisters and friend's over the 7 months, brave Warriors that i was proud to serve with. You might leave Afghanistan but it will never leave you. RIP and respect to all that was taken from us on that tour. Always remembered. We will Remember them.
Lest we forget 🇬🇧❤️ lost friends, young lads, had their whole lives ahead of them, sometimes its better not to ask what for? but one thing is for fu**ing certain; we will remember them.
My dad was a fusilier 2nd battalion before it was disbanded. “Muz” left before herrick but fought the IRA in NI lost a few mates in herrick safest things I could hear
We never should’ve gone to Afghan mate it was a waste of our ladds blood to say the least I know someone’s gotta do it but it always seems to be us I was in Musa Qala and Mutay with 3 para and then Pathfinder Group and the shit that went on still makes me sick to my fucking stomach to this day

It's hard to think that iam getting older now and there faces stay young for ever. It seems like a lifetime ago on them knackering patrols. I hate to say but iam haunted by the waste if it all.
Primarily Opium and other natural resources mate. God bless him and all of our fallen brothers and sisters. Unfortunately they are pawns in a much darker game. I hope I see the day when enough people realise what is really happening and the payback will be swift brutal and yet a pleasure to witness these corrupt traitors to our people ruthlessly wiped off this earth.
Unfortunately a pretty much unwinnable war but respect to all the troops they followed orders and did their best, now we wait to see how the ANA do when they're sufficiently trained hopefully their sacrifice wasnt in vein
Aaron NoneYa what the hell brother From across the pond ? You forget how it’s about keeping violent men from killing civilians? Then again fuck civilians man honestly. Fucking Hate the lot of them brother.
