This is one of her best works, it's so smooth & warm sounding. It's hard to believe that this is just an impromptu performance where they decided to do this song 15 minutes before they recorded. According to Ivan, this is the 1st take of this song while she reads the lyrics just off screen to her left. Ivan is a great guitarist who could wow us with his playing, but instead he has the restraint to just lay down a simple track to keep time while Angelina lets her voice fly. I really admire him for that.

This is a perfect example of why Angelina is the best singer I’ve ever heard. I’ve heard Rihana’s version, of course, and I liked it. But here, Angelina in an impromptu setting with Ivan, reading the lyrics, with no filters or production or processing, gives us a version of this song that is so incredibly beautiful and moving. Even at this young age, Angelina understands that the essence of singing is delivering the message of the lyrics. And she does that so easily and openly-with her unique musicality and a voice for the ages.

Hello mate. I don't know what is up with your sidekick but I think you did an excellent job on your own. I really do appreciate the fact that you're putting up some more Angelina reactions. There is no one quite like her and she is so deserving of the attention we can give her. Now at the tail end of the pre-Angelina takeoff she is one of the most trending artists on RU-vid. There are so many great renditions from Angelina! Here in the early days of her life in LA, Ivan only just holding it all together, he was so engrossed with the sound of her voice. Meanwhile Angelina casually reading the lyrics from a screen on her left. Angelina is so relaxed, she embodies the story of the song, she becomes the music. No need for fancy production, flashing lights and dancers, she grabs our attention and invites us to take a journey with her. In a concert the effect is much greater, I suggest that you watch out for concerts, perhaps next summer in Norway, I was there on 10th July this year, I still have the buzz from that now. People asked me why I would travel 1000 miles just for a concert of a couple of hours, well, I would have travelled 10,000 miles and have felt it worth while...

Ivan stated in an interview he really had a problem focusing on playing for her because he couldn't get past just how good she is, and that he was playing for someone that good. You can see it is his face a number of times in this and other videos. Her control, that is picked up by her new mic so well, is incredible. The clarity and fullness of notes is impeccable. It's so easy listening it's also easy to overlook the detail in her voice. Good reaction. Thanks.

Ivan told in an interview (also on RU-vid) that he would hang out with her and her family during the day. In the evening they’d quickly settle on a song, went through the score and would record it. Angelina’s main comment was ‘just follow my lead’. So what you see here is a raw one take recording without much in the way of rehearsing. Ivan did say that at times they needed more than one take…. when he messed up :-) What I also find interesting is that Angelina changes the story of the song. When Rihanna sings it you sort of know that the other is going to stay and everything will be fine mostly. Angelina slows it down, strips it down and add a lot of melancholy. Because of that, I feel that there will not be a happy end: she is asking the other to stay but already knows it will not happen. As so often she also makes me really hear the story and feel the story.

Bart, I've got to reply to you. I know, like all Angelina fans do, the story of how her and Ivan's sessions went but reading it in your comments brought tears to my eyes. Angelina is a wonder, she's a gift from above, she's a prodigy in front of our eyes. I'm an old codger and have had music in my life the whole time. I've heard and seen greats, I'm open-minded and have eclectic taste but Angelina has touched not just my ears and eyes but my heart and soul have been moved deeply by her. Never ever before has an artist had the effect that she has had on me. Your comments, so well written brought tears to my eyes realizing how great she is but how Angelina does it with such ease and assurance. I think she's been spoken to by God, she knows.

@@dsgp7835 Thats very kind of you. I’m quite a bit past my prime and though. For me good music is music that touches the soul. Other artists have moved me as well, Angelina manages it on a very constant and deep basis. She some sort of neural pathway to that part of brain where everything real and good is connected. I hadn’t expected to become some sort of a fanboi on my age :-)

Ivan (pronounced ee-VAN) in an interview said he would get a call from Angelina asking him to come over for dinner and music. After dinner she'd say what she wanted to sing. If he didn't know the song he'd practice a bit. Then they would record, usually one take. He said that sometimes he would get so enthralled with her vocals that he would make mistakes. Both Ivan and Egil were great support for Angie. Really like your reactions.

BP1...I hope BP2 is ok? You definitely figured Angelina out real early on in British Pops beginnings👍. The thing that continues to blow my mind...are these songs that Angelina records on the family's living room couch. In an inter view with Alan Papier (also on RU-vid), Ivan talked about how they would choose a song, and do 1 or 2 run throughs only and record it straight through. Its why we always Angelina looking over to read the words...that's how new these songs are to her. Now this skill is not easy for any singer and to do it with an emotional understanding or reinterpretation of the song that she is singing(at 12 fricken years old). I'm happy you have decided to start reviewing this past summer concerts from Norway. Please give my best to BP2 and BP1 great review 👍👍!

An interesting comment from another reactor. At the time she posted her video, over a year ago and on an older Angelina video, she had read that a well known or famous singer from New York felt Angelina was the premier female talent that was performing at that time. That would make Angelina about 12 or 13 or maybe 14 years old. Not being familiar with who resides in New York and who would fit that description, I do know one older famous singer and that would be Michael Feinstein. Interesting thought!!

Rhianna is great, and actually a billionaire who has sold over 100 million albums. Still, she can't match the emotional penetration that Angelina can deliver in a simple, casual 'jam' session with her guitarist friend Ivan. Neither of them had total knowledge of the song, so Ivan just followed her lead as best he could. Angelina, while reading the lyrics off a table at her side, actually applies her own arrangement to the song and proves that Rhianna may be a billionaire, but Angelina is a 'one in many billions' of people. She is the most amazing singer I have ever experienced and she hasn't even passed her mid-teens. Boggles the mind, doesn't it?

This is the voice of a grown woman from a twelve year old girl. I have no favorite Angelina performance, everything she's done is my favorite. But this left me stunned for many reasons. Angelina's hand gestures mesmerize, her expressions, also telling a story and Ivan's accompaniment, so pure along with his expressions of total amazement of Angelina. As it's done here, this performance could of easily been a huge hit and it was arranged by her. It's far more touching and heartfelt than the original version. She convinced me to stay.

In every performance I have watched and listened to from Angelina - which means every one - she has sung with TOTAL conviction, even though she lacks the life experiences which the lyrics convey. When Angelina sings, my intellect tells me that it is impossible for one so young to sing so convincingly, but my heart and emotions tell me otherwise, and for the length of the performance I "know" she has experienced the emotions in the lyrics.

What constantly amazes me about Angelina’s singing at this age isn’t so much her vocal skills (impressive though they are) as her ability to convey such searing emotion in her renditions. Somehow she gets me to *feel* a song, to transmit emotions no 12 year old can possibly understand-and yet she does understand. 🤯

Great react Brit 1. On the 3 concerts she did in July 2022, she did over 50 songs. Thanks BP1! I love the songs with some production but these performances at home with Ivan really showcase how great she is because there is no production. With Very little rehearsal and usually in 1 take to sound like that is extraordinary! Looking forward to you reacting to some of the performances from the summer concerts in Norway. Most of the content is from fan held cameras. I think they should call Ivan back and do a few covers again, he was full of admiration for her and he always accommodated his guitar to AJ's speed as they went, even when she had to stop or slow down when she wasn't feeling right like the cover of "Always on my Mind".

Once again, this young lady takes a song and re-creates it into another version better than the original. Cheers, stay well. "I threw my hands up in the air .." she goes with an airy breathy note. Right before that you can hear the sensitivity of the mic, picking up the sound of her lips separating. A fan managed the feat to get an interview with Ivan. They were effectively just jamming. "Do you know song xy?" And then after quickly sorting the melody it was "Just follow me". One take and next song. Crazy girl. Crazy good.

This is certainly up there with one of Angelina's best at 12 years old. There are two others in the same or similar venue that are just as astounding to me. A million years ago by Adele, and Born to die by Lana del Rey. I think they all have the same feeling to them in terms of style. We know Angelina has a gift for storytelling and eliciting emotion, and of course her vocal quality is stellar. One thing though that is not mentioned as frequently is Angelina's timing. Pausing just at the right moment and using negative space are things that most singers do not achieve until far into their careers. Angelina it's just magic. Love your channel and always look forward to more.

Ivan indeed is a fine guitarist he also is a fine singer with his own channel .Ivan would after his day job hang out at ANGELINAS home decide on some songs a little practice then record often 3 in one day notice ANGELINA looks left to read the lyrics from her device , Ivan has said in a interview with Alan papier that mostly only 1 take was needed and it was usually down to him if more where needed. thanks again for your reaction I do miss bp2 though you 2 are like Morecombe and wise best together. 😊

Okay, you said that you wanted some Angelina links, here is an obscure one. When Angelina was nine the family found themselves in Brazil, in conjunction with a diplomatic visit by Prince Haakon of Norway, and while in Rio they climbed up to Christ the Redeemer where Angelina started singing, because ... of course she did! Thanks BP1, You hinted at doing another Rihanna cover by AJ. My recommendation is the Elin Men recording of "Love On The Brain" from Angelina's July 10, 2022 concert in Kurbadhagen. The video is zoomed in on Angelina so we see her facial expressions and passion better, and in this performance she extends the song quite a bit longer than the other ones I have seen.

I know you guys love LIVE stuff, so you should take the time to react to Pentatonix's POP Spring 2016 concert that was well recorded and filmed by MTV. There are 4 songs (originals) and you can actually feel like being at one of their concerts...it's a bit long 15+ minutes but WELL WORTH IT !!!!!!
