Stanhope's a legend for sure & would spar well with Franky I reckon. Boyle wrote a lot of Jimmy Carr's jokes for a while. He's also one of the best editorial journalists out there when he can be bothered - scathing, beautiful delivery. He's an incredible comedian & writer - incomparable.

American stand up is just terrible

American comedy is so much more slapstick, silly and very obvious where us Brits are masters of self-depreciation, subtle yet witty humour. The difference is incredible.

I used to think James Acaster was one of the funniest people alive, (his old stuff is still very funny), but more recently, his material’s gone off a cliff. People say Frankie’s gone woke. James did a whole bit about why saying he _or_she_ instead of they is sexist. I somewhat agree with the premise, but it wasn’t the slightest bit funny.
