I think instead of replacing the native population because we need more young people we could just encourage are own native people to have more children.

The problem is there is no melting pot in Europe unlike Migration Countries like USA, Canada, Brazil, ... etc. People tend to stick with their own religious or ethnic group and this leads to ghettofication. Also some cultures cannot peacefully function with other cultures. For example you cannot expect a Religious South Asian Hindu and a Religious South Asian Muslim to live together without problems just look at Leicester. Some people groups have animosity for one another. To stop this animosity either you have to force everyone to become British culturally or kick them out which democratic countries cannot do both. Also multiethnicism is not a problem as long as people share the same/similar culture just look at native Brits who are made up of Germanic and Celtic people but have lived in harmony since the 1700's if you don't include the Ireland situations which is another topic but was mostly a religious conflict in my opinion. Also these are just my views and I could be wrong because I'm not British but from mainland Europe.

I think one of the strongest arguments against immigration is the economic impacts a bad way, as it artificially decreases the value of labor, especially low-skill labor so I don't think arguing economics is going to convince very many people who aren't rich and want cheaper labor to import immigrants

It’s kinda weird but the inverse sort of true that if your elderly and able to move to the US and live there for 5 years you’re eligible for free Medicare. This is different to NHS though because it’s operated more like a pensioner plan. Everybody pays into it through payroll and once someone is 65 they can sign up for it. That or if you’re really really poor then you’re automatically covered by Medicaid, another free healthcare plan

The white British population in 1951 was 97% of the English and Welsh population. Those who were not White British were mostly either White Irish or White European. Though a detailed analysis of the data shows that 226000 who are listed as White Ethnicity, also identify as Muslim. If these are added to the ethnic minority population, the total 'cultural minority population' is 18.8 or 11.2 million people. Which compares to 3 million ethnic minorities in 1991. In terms of religion, 46.2% said they were Christian and 37.2% were secular . Muslims had increased their dominance among minority religions to become 6.5% of the population, Hindus were 1.73%, Sikhs were 0.88% and Jewish were 0.46%. The proportion of the population who said they were both White British and Christian was 36.5%. The population in Greater London by 2021 was 36.2% White British and the total ethnic minority population (Including White Muslims) was 48%. The proportion of London residents who said they were both White British and Christian was 16.2%. Religions overall in London were 40.7% Christian, 27.1% Secular, 15% Muslim, 5.15% Hindu, 1.65% Jewish and 1.64% Sikh. In terms of the age structure in 2021, which gives an indication of how things are changing, the population of those aged 0 to 4 years old was 66.3% White British, and 28% Ethnic minority. There may be fewer ethnically white British people, but there has been a huge resurgence in the British national identity. In 2011 most people in England identified as English only. It was mainly just London that had a British majority or plurality. However in 2021, it flipped round, with nearly everywhere in England with a majority or plurality of people identifying as British. What could have caused such a dramatic change in the way people identify their nation? Maybe Brexit? Maybe to counter Scottish nationalism? It turns out it's because they changed the order of the answers. More people picked "British" because that option was moved to the top of the list.

Yeah, this is a problem. As much as I hate the United Kingdom as a political entity, I do think their people are generally quite nice, and I can imagine how weird it must feel to see your own ethnic group get replaced without any say in the matter. Now, of course, there is no 'great replacement' or any stuff like that, but it is very unbalancing to bring in so many immigrants that the category of 'white British' becomes a minority in certain areas. It completely ruins the balance of society unless done carefully, and I imagine it was the same for my ancestors when the British did the same with their people in the Ulster Plantation.

As an "American," the title seems absolutely oxymoronic to me because imagine if someone said only 75% of the United States population is American, like, no matter the number it wouldn't make any sense because of course all of the people in the United States are American. And the way I see it, my understanding has been that the people in the UK are all British, but some of them are English, Welsh, Scottish, Cornish, Irish, or many other groups. So if some British people are taking "British" to mean just the White people that seems incredible arbitrary I mean the people of Europe, even Western Europe, are distinct, they don't need to be lumped together in the context of demographic analysis. And yes this is coming from someone who is an immigrant, I am just as much Bangladeshi as I am American, some people who are United States American might not have American citizen, they might have dual citizenship, nevertheless they are "American." The title probably would make more sense if it was talking about native population in relation to immigrant population, but then again the data isn't concerned with that, the statistic in the video relates to "White" people. Alright, sure, you can assert that is a race, but it's not the same as "British."

All of those stats apply to the UK. The "UK" stat is native born people. This is one example of a few in the video, and your misinterpretations make you come to some interesting conclusions. Second channel don't care, but this is an important topic that has real impacts in the world and is leaning on misinformation. I may be less likely to watch or recommend your channel if I notice this again

2016 was the year of the "Brexit" (British Exist) referendum. Basically the British people decided whether they wanted to be part of the European Union or not. This vote was in summer 2016. It followed a long campaign where some people argued Britain should be part of the European union because they liked keeping the free flow of trade and goods with the rest of Europe. But others wanted England's independence from the continent. They liked the idea of Britain being its own nation separate from the rest of Europe and able to decide its own future. There was a lot of arguing but eventually it came down to a vote. And surprisingly, the vote was in favour of existing. Hence, British Exist or Brexit! Now, Britain was existed from the European Union officially. So it had an impact on foriegn policy and immigration. Now europeans could no longer just walk across the border into England/Britain. They had to show their identification cards and prove why they wanted to be there. It became cumbersome to move across the border when it used to be an easy thing for anybody to cross. It was as if Europe and London were no longer one. So now immigrants to the UK could no longer immigrate. The country became closed off and that meant you could not move back and forth. This is because of how everybody voted in the so-called "Brexit" vote in 2016. Its effects are still being felt to this very day!

These stats don't tell everything though. Ancestrally I am 1/4 white British, 1/4 Turkish, and 1/2 black west Indian. Genetically I am about 40% white British, 15% Turkish, and 45% west African, as genes don't carry linearly from grandparents. In terms of my cultural identity I am completely British/English/Welsh. What is racist is not having concerns about how concentrated immigration may lead to a loss of collective identity, ghettoisation, or economic problems. It's thinking that people are not British or don't belong because they look different.

I moved to the London borough of Kingston in 2015 and in that 7 year timespan I have seen the local population go from about 1/10 non-white to 4/10 non-white. Even my estate is quite racially diverse now when it was heavily majority white when I first moved in.

The UK has been very immigrant heavy for a long time. Except for Canada and the US, the UK and many parts of Europe have been receiving higher levels of immigration than pretty much all of the western hemisphere for more than half a century now. Most people alive now haven't lived in a time when Argentina or Uruguay are high migration countries

i grew up in a town called shrewsbury which is pretty much 99% white so it’s funny to go to aston university in birmingham which is only an hour away where i am the minority in my lectures, i did a rough count i think white people make up about 10% of people in my lectures
