South West Trains did operate class 170's from 12th December 2000 until the 28th July 2008 I believe it may of been 2007 but it was either 2007 or 2008
The thing with newhurst is that it was never really meant to be a major terminus station. It was only so because of some bi directional bits and bobs that needed ironing out. Personally I love how it’s as small as it is now - I think it’s quaint and lovely to look at
