Luka sees a guy ground out once " He was definately not known for his hitting" Luka, the VERY BEST hitters in baseball only get a hit 3 out of 10 at bats, so you fail 7 out of every 10 at bats, even for the best hitters, so when it says he has a .230 batting average, it means he gets a hit 23 percent of the time, which is not that good, but it could be if he draws a lot of walks and hits for power but baseball stats are very very complicated
Dude you hit the nail on the head, if Luka ever wants to know baseball like that he'd have to live stream a Q&A about it. There is way too many ins and outs to the numbers of baseball to be explained in a couple hundred characters.

The cubs fans reactions to this win was incredible, there's several videos of that as well. Thinking about how GENERATIONS lived and died without ever seeing their team win, it was very emotional.

@MetalCrow448 Some years the season is won or lost in September though. If anything, it shows how long they've been shitting the bed, the league has changed from that statement multiple generations prior.
its hard to understand what this game meant. this meant absolutely EVERYTHING to the city of chicago. this was generations of pain and losing. the cubs were known as the lovable losers. watching the cubs FINALLY win was for the family members who never got to see it in their lifetime. i would highly recommend the short film on youtube called "Joy in Wrigleyville" to understand what this moment truly meant to chicago and cubs fans.
As a lifelong Cubs fan and living through 40 years if heartbreak and misery this was the greatest moment in my life. And by the way the Indians blew a 3-1 lead

They are famous for a lot of things, but a main reason is the fact that they were broadcast on WGN to large areas for decades while other teams did not get that exposure

This was actually a big and well known moment unlike you thought. It was really important because of all the history and every baseball fan knows about it.
The thing that got me living in Chicago, was when they switched from the ending of the game to the local news. People were watching the game on their phones in the cemetery. They wanted to watch the game with their parents and grandparents who had never seen the Cubs win the World Series.
So glad you did this video. This was one of the most entertaining baseball games ever played, and the happiest moment in Chicago Cubs history, and anyone just getting into baseball is getting a treat by seeing it. I actually envy you a little for not knowing how it turned out beforehand.
The Cubs winning it all in 2016 was so massive, the parade drew the 7th largest gathering in human history (5 million). I was present of course. Go Cubs Go!

You need to watch a Javy Baez slide compilation. There is one on the Chicago Cubs RU-vid channel. You will be amazed. His nickname is El Mago, which is “The Magician” in Spanish. He’s truly an amazing ball player and his slides are out of this world.
I've been a cubs fan for my entire life, I watched 100 games a year for 20 years before this moment. My grandfather lived his whole life as a cubs fan and died at 85 never seeing a world series win. When we recorded the final out of this game. I stared at the tv in shock surrounded by a dorm full of people yelling and screaming, and then I just broke down sobbing

Only thing I’d change about this video is you calling runs, “points.” In baseball, we call them runs. However, it gives lots of authenticity of someone learning a new sport. Loved this video. Love the channel :) SB Nation did another video about the Cubs' 2003 inning that they mentioned early in this video. It's a super dramatic infamous inning that has spawned a couple great feature length documentaries. It involves a fan who became a scapegoat and was treated so badly, that after the Cubs won in 2016, everyone tried to get him to throw out the first pitch on opening day, to apologize to him. My father, a life-long Cubs fan, died in 2015 at age 93 without ever seeing the Cubs win the Series. When the game was stopped for the rain, I knew it was a sign from above that the Cubs would win.
I heard that as part of the championship ceremony there were fans at the cubs stadium who were writing on the walls the names of loved ones who never lived to see this moment. 108 years. Pretty big deal man
You should watch a video about the Red Sox - Babe Ruth curse (curse of the Bambino)! They traded Ruth to their rival Yankees and didn’t win a World Series for over 86 years after that!
You probably know the Cubs because they have a very large fan base. A fan base who rarely let a moment by where they didn't lament the curse. I went hoarse for three days screaming in joy after this. Probably was drunk for three days too...but Cubs fans are pretty much always drunk haha

The stuff that really puts the importance of the moemnt into perspective is the videos of the 90 year old fans who've been cubs fans since they were kids see their team win for the first time.
This my friend is quite possibly the greatest baseball game ever played, it had everything drama excitement heart break everything was front and center here and honestly of my 10 years watching the game religiously it’s the single greatest game I’ve ever watched.

I have been a die hard Cubs fan since 1984, having lived thru excruciating moments from that season, and many others in the years afterwards. But when Bryant threw to Rizzo to record that final out, I just collapsed to the ground and sobbed tears of joy for a good 5 minutes after the game ended! And all I could think of was that I hoped somewhere in heaven, my late maternal grandparents, who were die hard Cubs fans for decades themselves, got to see and experience what we all did the night/morning of November 2nd/3rd 2016 (game ended after midnight Eastern Daylight Time)
