Earth to Ellen. How does she not know who Matthew is and that he’s British?! He’s been in a hundred shows and movies and is an incredible actor. Ugh, Hollywood is so ignorant sometimes. Also, Matthew is the best Mr. Darcy. He really nailed the shyness and awkwardness of that character. I saw Pride & Prejudice twice in the theater and I never do that. It was just so well done.

I'm always very curious to hear English actors doing American accents on film/TV as so many still do a lousy job and even one 'slip up' can spoil the entire film as the character just loses all credibility (e.g. Emma Watson in Little Women). I had never heard of Matthew somehow and watching Succession, it didn't even occur to me to check where he was from as I was 100% he's American. Totally amazed to find out the actor playing Tom is English as the accent is ridiculously natural

I knew this was the dude from pride and prejudice movie but did not realize it until season 2 succession and I did not realize he was British. His accent is so good I love the tom character
