Thank you I started 😮😅on UG, then overhead, then the rest of my time I was a customer service engineer. Subs apparatus and line maintenance, and also I worked on small business systems before working on Call connect key systems. Herald, viceroy kingsman etc. I refused to be promoted. I was working for a RSC and meeting (my) customers in my working patch. I am now a pensioner of 30 years. I have my own BT Maestro van and this being my time machine when driving, makes my memories come alive again. Also makes people happy because many people who see me want a photo shot of me and my van Reg A19 GPO Happy days. Ron.

Unfortunately this job now is extremely difficult for reasons the public can't appreciate. Mind you, the difficulties a copper engineer faces are dying away now fibre is coming. They really got every last drop out of a metal conductor....Gfast 330 mbs? Man..

The company now prefers contractors who get paid per job and couldn't care less about customer service to avoid pension liabilities, sick pay, etc. Truly awful management with no clue

Always remember a customer when we changed to the grey BT after yellow British telecom. She said Atleast with the bright yellow vans I knew to move out the way. Now you lot just appear from nowhere and give us no chance 😂. Ahh the days before data tracking and social media

A yellow mogie with no ladder rack, white wheels, hub caps and a radio aerial?

Probably was a (T.O.s) technical officers van working on( mu/cj ) cable faults measurements, the aerial looks like 2 way radio, some TOs also had a radio and spot lights for working in country areas
