My grandad did a jump in Cyprus looked after vehicles which included Bedford RL’s, Scammells, Bedford RL Breakdown, Humber Pig and Series 1 Landrover my grandad was a recovery mechanic and helped recover a compressor when Regiment did roadwork in Akamas peninsula. 44 Independent Parachute Brigade TA was only in Cyprus for a month but 12 regiments went in two different waves and stayed for two weeks. My grandad was camped at Dhekelia first week at tuxedo camp and last lot to go out there.

Additionally, there was Greek resistance in Cyprus, even in the early eighteen hundreds, against the Turkish control. EOKA only targeted Turks (an action I admit is wrong), after the Istanbul pogrom of 1955. You should know that Britain, along with the CIA, backed the junta and its violent minions. The British and Americans had long conspired together, and the British made maps of a division of the island as early as the fifties. THEY backed the turkish invasion of '74, and is why the Greeks for many years have shouted in the streets, "NATO, CIA - Betrayal". You should learn your history, sir.

@KoivuTheHab Yes, I know EOKA was created to try and get rid of the occupational forces, but I was trying to tell you that Greeks in Cyprus had been fighting against the forces controlling them for many years, including the previous ottoman Turks. Also, I was telling you that EOKA only targeted Turks after the Istanbul progrom. How dare you say that Cypriots are dirty and unintelligent people. Where are you from, and what makes you better? Please tell me. My near relatives are all doctors, lawyers and judges. Many Cypriot doctors are found at the highest levels of specialisation in cities such as London! Furthermore, you are incorrect to state that the involvement of the American CIA and the British government in the problems of Cyprus, including the invasion by Turkey, are just cheap bits of propaganda. They are in fact irrefutable, well documented facts. I have met many British soldiers who served in Cyprus in the early seventies, and they have revealed to me that they knew that the invasion was due to happen long beforehand. Also, they admitted that this move was supported by Washington and London. Now kind sir, you are the one embarrassing yourself, not me.
