Actually she wasnt. Her last good time was before she broke up with Justin. You can see here she is bored answering the question and you can see that her performances in her Onyx Hotel Tour was not as passionate as she used to be. But things did get a lot worse after 2004.

Yeah, but if she were bored and out of it and wasn't in a good place mentally she wouldn't've (co-)written almost all of In the Zone and produce and write everything for The Original Doll, and have such a creative hand in the Onyx Hotel Tour. Plus, you can really see her fun side in the documented video materials of this era (Chaotic, the In the Zone DVD, interviews, behind-the-scenes material etc.); everywhere she seemed to enjoy life and be really happy. This interview she might've been out of it, but everyone has a day where they're not really feeling it; I don't think this interview is a good indication of her whole mood in 2003/2004...

She wasnt happy in all of her interviews in 2004, until she met Kevin Federline. You could see the difference from her interviews and performances prior to in the zone and throughout the year 2004 she wasnt as passionate. After she met Kevin she was happy for a while then hit rock bottom. As for co writing, she wasnt too happy about it either actually. She wrote a lot of songs to be included for In The Zone, but Jive didnt approve a lot of it except for Everytime. She said like no one believes in her at the time. Which prompted her to be rebellious and wrote The Original Doll album, sadly that too was not approved by Jive.

fix fix Well, if you say so, are you Britney? Because she didn't look the part. If I look up "Britney interview 2003", I see her fun interviews at Graham Norton, CD:UK, TRL, etc. none of which she looked bored or disinterested. If I look up "Britney interview 2004", I see fun interviews with Ellen DeGeneres, Cojo, and the only interview I see where she looked tired was the one where she only answered fan questions, so I think it's a bit farfetched to say she was bored during all this on the basis of only a handful of interviews. Plus, she looked fun and energetic in the ABC special... And as far as co-writing goes; maybe they didn't include everything, but she still co-wrote like 10 out of 15 tracks, there were only a handful she didn't (co-)write. Plus, she had a lot of creative control during In the Zone; she handpicked the second and third single, against the label opting for I Got That Boom Boom or Outrageous, and the first single was also a compromise, because the label wanted Boom Boom and Britney wanted Toxic, until Madonna had recorded her part for MATM, then they decided to go for MATM
