Currently reading Britney's book came here to watch this music video cuz it's been decades and she said this is her proudest work. I can see that now. She had the same energy JT had and did it fucking better. They didn't want her to go in that direction but she ate left. No scraps. Madonna added something to this song that I can hear as an adult didn't have that. Just listening to Britney.

True this is a very hard and professionnal one this choreo. But Britney is a pro dancer, a gymnast and a singer 😊. And she dance whith high wheels and looking back a this time. She s doing all the choreograophy and stage an promo. She was the best she was everywere (trust me from France and Portugal). They put the Light only on her because all people was facinated, loving her, or hatine her. Anything Britney tried to release between 2001-2003 had no radio play because Britney chose Pepsi as her sponsor of her 2001 Dream tour instead of Clear Chanel (the owner of 75% of US radio stations) so out of spite, they radio banned her. Any chart success is attributed to Britney’s music videos and performances during this era cos radio wouldn’t play her until the ban was lifted in 2004. Hope this helps.

I agree. I’m not a fan of this song and every one really ragged on it at the time. I didn’t even really here on the radio. But it’s cool it’s really that they both collaborated. I think this would have been way bigger post 2007 (Blackout and Confessions). I think that tempo of the beats were alittle bit slower than what I was used to hearing from Madonna and Brittney.

It’s 40 million now, but that doesn’t really matter. This song was HUGE when it came out, it was a #1 hit in like 10 countries, much more than some other songs, for example everytime has 136 million views but it did worse (not by much but still worse) than matm, so there is def something else going on. for some reason it just isn’t as remembered (a live performance with Madonna probably would’ve helped). I personally love the song but I understand why some people have mixed feelings about it, it’s not your average super catchy pop song like toxic, but it was still a hit nonetheless🤷‍♂️

The fact that Britney and Madonna never performed this song together on stage is one of the biggest missed opportunity in pop history ever! EDIT: To everyone saying they did: No, they never performed THIS song ("Me Against The Music") together. They performed a "Like A Virgin/Hollywood/Work It" medley at the 2003 VMAs with Xtina and Missy Elliott (when the lesbian kiss "scandal" happened). Then, they performed "Human Nature" (around 2008/2009 I don't remember) during Madonna's "Sticky & Sweet" tour.

I remember, back then in Ukraine where I lived with my family, it was very difficult to catch a Britney song on TV once in a while, and we obviously had no internet. So I would stay up all night long waiting for her music on MTV, it was a celebration everytime she was on.Later, where I could actually buy the CD, I was the happiest teenager in the universe. Good times )))

For Britney, to be only 21, and to be SO mature, as to have time to research singers that are MUCH older than her, e.g. Madonna, Michael Jackson, Janet Jackson, etc., is AMAZING!!!! Search Britney Spears "Me Against the Music" (FULL CHOREOGRAPHY) posted by Speed S. Its a video of just the choreography from ever performance she has done of this song. They splice(not sure if its the right word) together all the performances so the whole thing flows together like one performance. MIND BLOWINGLY impressive and awesome. Ive watched it about 20x. LOL!
