I just can't imagine the pressure she was under, trying to sing and dance and not on her natural key. No wonder she totally gave it up today. She's doing her 200 percent in impossible situation, and still get criticized
+Tzahy Rapoport There are artists able to sing and dance naturally nowadays: Gaga, Shakira, to name some. She was just thrown all at once and didn't give her the chance to develop and improve properly.
Nothing cheesy about Brits body, and she knew how to use that "innocent" facade probably better then almost anyone else her age, ever. And what do we have today? Seems like Brit was the pinnacle of young female dance and song beauty , again, what do we have now?
Britney was so much more than her voice in the early 2000’s, she was an entire package and an experience when she performed. She didn’t even really need a good live vocal to be successful
@@DennisCorrea87 she sounds like any live artist who dances, we're just not used to live performances no more. Yah go back to tlc, aaliyah, and tupac all had performances where they didn't sound good or of key but performances were live and real... therefore good.
We don't hate that she lip-syncs. We hate that she lip-syncs to the studio track which makes it so obvious that she is lip syncing. She needs to pre-record her live vocals and lip-sync to that. She needs to stop being lazy. Love her Still!
britney is a legend, people hates her because they cant accept the fact that britney is very famous other than other singers, she had been through ups and downs,yet she managed to came back, people still likes her, she has proven so many things, I will always adore her ;)
To all the negative comments, she CAN sing live. It sounds as though her mic wasn't turned up enough as her backing singers sounded louder than her. I have seen her in concern when she sang live and she sounded amazing and that despite doing all those dance routines.

She’s not lazy when you consider Mariah, and she can still pull it off. I just think the breakdown caused a major confidence know that couldn’t keep her down permanently. I think she’s getting the thirst back, just a shame people refuse to take her seriously anymore 🤬
I'm from Brazil and that day I missed school. I was in the living room watching an extinted cable channel "Superstation" which used to air this show. Noticed Britney was gonna be there and recorded the whole show... Happy I didn't go to school that day, because I could learn Oops moves and watch her live the whole morning. I was 15 back then... Now I'm 34 and I still love her. I like to read random people's stories...that's why I'm telling mine... 😉😉
Thats really not an excuse. There are people who dance more than Britney and sing better songs without having to lip sync today. Bruno Mars is one. He dances quite a bit. NSYNC back in the days sang live and danced much more. Justin Timberlake of course since I mentioned NSYNC, who did a 15 minute set where he was walking and dancing, mixed in with a reunion of NSYNC which included more dancing and he never stop singing live nor did he run out of breath.
I've always noticed the guy in the white shirt and when she goes up to him it's like she blushes. It's cute. I watched this the day it happened. I miss those years:(
It's nice to finally hear a real recording of what one of these performances would sound like. I would rather her do this then to lipsynch everything but if she couldn't hit these high notes and was out of breath in her prime, I can't see her being able to do it today either. No denying how great she used to look though.

She can’t control her breath and she can’t sing&dance. It’s always been that way. But it doesn’t mean that she’s not a great performer. She is one of the best performers alive. A true legend

I will continue to blame her team for making her sing so nasally. Her true voice is soulful and beautiful. However, her deciding to pick up smoking also has had a great effect on her voice. So I guess both parties are at fault. It just makes me sad.

I don't care whether she sings live or not because I'm fascinated by her dancing. So if she has to lipsync in order to dance then so be it. I still love her live vocals too though.
Vi muitos vídeos dela do começo da carreira na tour onde ela cantava nos shoppings ela cantava e dançava ao mesmo tempo perfeitamente! Talvez depois de muitos anos trabalhando mais do que o corpo aguenta, sem cuidar da voz acabou prejudicando...a voz é um instrumento muito delicado, precisa de muito cuidado...nessa época ela trabalhava muito, de repente não dormia o suficiente, não fazia aquecimento vocal, tudo isso influencia na voz do cantor...sem contar com o cigarro, álcool e outras substâncias que destroem a voz...ela já não cantava no registro natural de sua voz, o que por si só já detona a voz, pode perceber que ela força uma voz espremida, sua voz natural cantando era tipo vozerão, mas a gravadora queria uma voz de menininha...
i think it is not easy to be moving around by dancing and singing at the same time as you have to be able to breath!!! so i give her credit to what she does. haters are always going to be hating so why bother with them!! they dont see things that deep!! they think everything is just too easy in life!!! i love britney!!!
Christina Ahkine That might serve as justification for her being out of breath, but what's your excuse for being out of tune and shaky throughout the whole thing? Even in "Lucky", where she barely moved, she sounded awful. If you have good musicality you are not going to sing out of tune or pitchy no matter how hard you move. This performance shows a lack of musical talent. She was a good dancer though.
This is Britney's real live voice. In that baby falsetto the record label made her sing. Her true voice is apparently very soulish and deep, as those performances as a kid prove. Whatever, I still love her. Sitll, I wish she'd pre-record fake live vocals like Rihanna, Beyonce or even Celine do.
I've seen many other videos where she was singing live and she sounded perfect...Maybe after years singing without taking care of the voice made she sound so bad live...or maybe it was just a bad day...it happens a lot for singers, if you don't sleep enought, if you are sick, didn't warm up your voice, even the weather and what you eat can be a problem...but if you watch her videos singing live at the mall tour she sounded perfect, and danced at the same time...
She's gearing up to surprise us. She can sing live very well, she's trying to come out of the baby voice although she can still do it. Her latest album #Glory has the least amount of autotune on it.
At that point, it's not even negativity it's just the truth. It would be a piss poor backing track but for live vocals with all the dancing, it's understandable why she sounds that way.

Please dont act like you know something about music when yall only know "tune vocal octave bla bla" She clearly had singing lessons but in a wrong way. Singing %70 about breath and she doesnt know how to take it or use it. And her style is like really hard. I dont surprise she doesnt sing live. Whit that kind of style you can only sing in a studio. And she truly have the talent. Her thing is really the hardest.

So many time that i go walking to a long distance place, i go with my audiophone in my ears and start to sing any song, i can't even keep singing the full song cause i feel Out of air and i do it just walking. Imagine if i were doing it dancing, would be horrible. So i don't blame her whe she tries to use play Back. People can't be so judgemental and understand her. She do it great how ever
She made her best and I'm proud of her. All my love to her. We all know that it's so difficult for her to sing and dance at the same time because she must to do that baby voice for a contract. I'm with her till the end of times. Now a days she must to keep up in the business for her two children so I'll give her my support at all time.
I think she did great! I mean, she misses some high notes in baby one more time, but she's doing some preety hard core choreos and singing at the same time! I don't think a lot of artists do that right now, maybe beyonce? I think she was an amazing performer.

Dang you can really hear the baby voice in this. If you compare this performance of “Baby One More Time” to older ones there’s a huge difference. Her older performances had her deep vocals which sounded really good! I wish she maintained a mix of both.
I think it's better to sing live, even if it doesn't sound perfect, than to just lyp synch. I mean, it's only human not to hit all notes perfectly everytime, especially when you're dancing at the same time. And she doesn't even sound so bad here, her singing is fine! I just don't like when singers don't sing live, I mean..singing and performing is their job.. So, why not just be honest and show what you got?
Go ten yes, but i think that, as somebody who calls himself a "singer", you should sing live, it's your job. But i do realize that she's a performer, too, so dancing is included. But she could just simplify her dancing a little bit for example, if it's too difficult for her to do both. Or just set priorities-does she want to be known as a good dancer? Fine, then she should focus on dancing. But as a recording artist I think she should at least sing live.

And I'm glad Britney tried both here, but the backlash will always be there unless people like idk get some sense of logic or unless she starts to focus on trying to sound as amazing as possible live and drop the dancing, which will obviously not happen. The first 4 tours (BOMT, crazy2k, oops, mall tour) were pretty much entirely live, and she actually did what you described, toned down choreo and singing in between (and it was pretty good), so it's not like she made her career out of lip synching. But once her dancing intensified because it became her thing, she had to kind of drop the live singing, not entirely, but still :/ Plus side is that homegirl really knows how to put on a show, nonetheless, lol Also playing a factor is that the way she sings in her songs is very... Well, you know how it is.
it's honestly so hard to sing live and dance. I'm in show choir and we put on a full 20 minutes choreo intensive show and it's hard to sing live the whole. I can only imagine for Britney to do a full concert.
