I know, right? These vocals remind me so much of the "Oops.." album, and the melody and arrangement reminds me so much of the "Britney" album! I'm 23 and still loving her as much as when I was 7!
This song is so beautiful and I like the fact that she sings on her natural key and not on that chipmunk voice her label forces her to use ( which I love too ), I don't understand why did it flop

@@alexandermiltenburg6966 I don’t know what about it is uplifting, but I do think it sounds quite normal. Britney’s image doesn’t resonate with the basic, non-threatening, mainstream crowd. This coming after Work Work wouldn’t detract people’s impression that Britney’s just the kink girl who released a bad album. But it came out at the time many similar songs were popular, so I think the only reason it couldn’t do well was because the PR & promotion team didn’t make the song’s cultural presence prominent enough. Amazing song though. Even though it’s basic, it’s powerful and I love to hear Britney’s real voice.
I've said before that I can't stand the fact that Britney wasn't singing with her own voice all these years. I'm incredibly glad and shocked to hear her beautiful dark tones and strong voice again. Hope she can make justice to this song live. She doesn't need the baby voice thing, she has a great voice on her own. Good for you Britney Brit!
You can hear how strong her voice is in this. Its closer to her natural tone but still has that classic Britney spin. She is talented or she works with people who bring out the best in her.

I like this Britney more. This type of music makes me realize she still has that sweet innocent girl inside of her, much like her song "Everytime". The queen is back :D
I enjoy this song way more than Work Bitch. It reminds me of the In The Zone era. She sings sans autotune with passion, the lyrics are great and the composition of the song is theatrical and perfection. Yes Britney!

I was so surprised when I heard this song for the first time on the radio. Britney is ACTUALLY singing!! I mean she always sings in her songs, but it's more of a talk-singing thing she does or a lot of autotune/reverb is used, but in this you can hear her VOCALS...I was shocked, she actually sounds good!

Britney's real voice is heavy.... Like in Shadow, or Don't let me be the Last to Know. This is her real voice.. Plus she smokes:( so that made it a bit heavier. I still love this song and I think Perfume is better then the entire FF album

It ONLY flopped because it was released so close behind "wrecking ball" I'm not comparing the songs, but usually 2 ballads don't perform well on the charts at the same time. Wrecking Ball cane out first and had the advantage. Britney hesitated on the second single which effected the song's performance. The same issue happened with slumber party.
Wow.. This gives me major nostalgia... My mom used to play this song while she'd go out on a run. I'd go too, so that I could ride my bike. I used to think that the song was weird, but listening to it again, I can't help but love it. Maybe it's just the memories of hearing it, but it really is a good song...

wtf cares if britney promotes, she is busy with her vegas gig! heres what i think britney is doing, she is simply allowing this album be used as a gift to her fans( or true fans) and with that has no reason to promote or do a live performance for every song she releases. When you give someone a gift, especially one from the heart, you don't have to shout out to the world, LOOK WHAT I GAVE THEM!!! think of this era as one on one time with Brit and i love that she is sharing this with her fans and no one else, bc there wouldn't be an album 8 without us supporting her every inch of the way...and she KNOWS it! Francamente no comprendo a las personas que critican esta cancion! Es simplemente Perfecta. Al fin está cantando con letras con sentido. La letra de esta cancion dice tanto! toda mujer se habrá sentido asi alguna vez. Es increible que nadie haya destacado su voz en esta cancion, se la escucha tan natural, cantando muy bien por cierto, se ve que las lecciones de canto que tomó dieron resultado! This song is beautiful. She is opening up with a chapter from her past for her fans. Its about a girl who knows she might be in love with the wrong guy as he seems to frequently have other girls around him, but she cant leave him for being shady as shes in love so she wants all of those other bitches to know he is hers and hers alone, via the smell of her perfume. Its not a feminist power song yet a song that a lot of girls can relate to as everyone has had a bad relationship they just couldnt walk away from right away.
