Same, but I left in 2010 to live in London. I always knew herb to mean a corny dude.

Its because mainly they’re hood slang, and the way they use some of these words don’t mean what they describe in the video or like one or two we don’t use anymore but alot of this langos is from the Bronx n Brooklyn mainly. Im from the Bronx n we still use it

That's how I felt with some of the southern ones, and then they'd frequently get the definitions wrong too. It was irritating 🤬

Bridge and Tunnel means people who go into the the city from mostly Jersey, Long Island and surrounds. But it also means try hards from the suburbs who can't make it full time in NYC.

I love this! Especially our black young ppl weighing in from across the pond. Words I use as an old lady, brick, herb, and bridge and tunnel. B&Ts are usually referred ppl at a Manhattan bar or club who are clearly from NJ, Long Island, Upstate NY etc, on the weekend and it’s obvious that they’re not used to partying in the City. We can tell by their clothes.

Lived in NYC my entire life, Never heard of wocky Never heard of blowin' mine (at least not the definition that was given) Bridge and Tunnel might be an older generation slang term because no one my age says that Primary definition of a joint is weed thats rolled up in white rolling paper

This is all what might be referred to as Urban Lingo. It's a class thing mostly. So expect a lot of NYers saying they've never heard any of it.

Being from NYC them saying yerrr is hilarious to me lmfao and wocky don't necessarily mean quick and irrational it can mean just weirdly or odd or just simply bad like yoo that coffee was wocky like no good but you usually say like yo duke right there moving wild wocky deadass but NYC slang is a whole nother language in its own so yeah lmfao but yerrrrrrrrrrt!! 🤣
