Key lime pie is an American dessert pie. It is made of lime juice, egg yolks, and sweetened condensed milk. It may be served with no topping, or with a meringue topping made from egg whites,or with whipped cream. It may be cooked in a pie crust, graham cracker crust, or no crust. The dish is named after the small Key limes, which are more aromatic than the common Persian limes, and which have yellow juice. The filling in a Key lime pie is typically yellow because of the egg yolks. The filling is made similarly to a Magic Lemon cream pie, by simply mixing the ingredients without cooking: the proteins of the egg yolks and condensed milk and the acidic lime juice curdle, thickening the mixture without baking. Today, Key lime pies are usually baked to pasteurize the eggs and thicken the filling further.

Deep frying turkey is absolutely the best way to cook turkey, arguably better than smoking, imo. It's so good, actually, that there are tons of injuries at Thanksgiving with people trying to deep fry a whole turkey, but not knowing what they're doing. Lots of people screw up every year and spend the holiday in the hospital, or with the fire department sorting out what's left of their house.

LOL!! A man riding a bull is professional bull riding. The rodeo has actual ranch work in the form of a competition. Fair food (not quite sure about rodeo food) is commonly battered & fried. Including Oreo cookies. I'm an no expert but I have had some. Batter on a corn dog is corn bread with a little difference. Mutton Bustin' is open to all kids. From the ranch or from the city. If you 'chuck' ice cream in a deep fryer it would melt immediately without any insulating layer. You can make your own fried ice cream if you can find some dry ice to super freeze it.

Most rodeos include a livestock show. The FFA (future farmers of America) kids show and sell their livestock to earn college money. They may also sell plants, art, etc. The larger shows give out scholarships. These larger shows also have concerts every night and some matinees to help raise money for the kids.

The cornbread batter on a corndog is subtly sweet. It makes a nice sweet and savory treat. I, too, thought Josh looked great in the black hat but that is a wool/fur felt hat. Those are worn fall and winter and they are switched to straw ones for warm and hot weather. They would have looked a bit odd wearing the winter one in 95 F/35C heat. Trinity Vandenacre is a Montana rancher that has really informative videos and shorts about ranching. He has one about buying cowboy hats and how to shape them to suit you. One on types of boots and saddles, etc. It's a hard but unique life and not quite like cowboy movies.

Smores are made this way: 1. Take 1 square of graham cracker, 2. Then 1 large marshmellow, roasted over an open fire (so it's melty & gooey), then place it on the graham cracker square. 3. Place a square of chocolate that will fit on the graham cracker, on top of the roasted marshmallow. The heat of the hot marshmallow will melt the chocolate. 4. Place another graham cracker square on top to make a sandwhich like configuration. 5. Enjoy!

Deep fried ice cream is KIND OF a common dessert you can find in good Mexican restaurants. I would guess Spain too. The ice cream has to be very well frozen, and it’s “battered” with regular Corn Flakes. I don’t know how they apply it to adhere to the ice cream, or if it’s sweetened in any way. All in all, once you bite through the coating, it pretty much just tastes like ice cream. But don’t quote me 100%. It’s been a long time since I had it.

There is a part of the rodeo where you sit and watch people riding broncing bulls or horses and lassoing cows, etc. But, it's also a big fair, with carnival rides, games, competitions, performances, and all kinds of food. Also, I'm guessing people are also there showing off their animals and maybe entering contests judging the best pig, cow, etc. Keep in mind, I'm from the east coast and haven't gone to many rodeos in my life. The event they attended is the State Fair, which is once a year, and they combined it with the rodeo as an extra attraction. Rodeo's are not usually combined like that. Also, there are many events in rodeo, such as saddle bronc riding, bareback bronc riding, roping, heading and heeling, bull riding, etc. The food is typical "fair" food all over the country. Lots of unusual foods served on sticks to make it easy to eat while you're walking around seeing the attractions.

Smores are traditional campfire treats, using fire roasted marshmallows, graham crackers, and chocolate bars. Deep fried ice cream is Italian first, I believe. Today they freeze the ice cream in liquid nitrogen before battering and quickly flash cooking in the deep fryer. You can find it in a lot of restaurants, especially Italian restaurants, in the US anyway. Deep fried things on a stick are a major US Midway food trope for rodeos, state and county fairs, big car shows, music festivals, airshows, any big summer celebrations and holidays festivals. There's a sort of competition to come up with the next outrageous thing to deep fry. Deep fried sticks of butter were briefly popular, or of note, anyway -- I can't imagine that it was popular. Making yourself sick on fair food is sort of a rite of passage for the typical American kid.

@@AliKaiProject There are a lot of videos out there showing you the process. The "cooked" level of the marshmallow is always personal. Some people love it when it catches fire and scalds and burns the outside.....my preference is to rotate the marshmallow over the flame until the entire outside is brown and caramelized and the center is completely gooey. It is a campfire tradition, but you don't have to have a fire outside to do it. When we get the hankering, we simply turn the flame on our kitchen stove and cook the marshmallow that way. If they don't place in the money, they don't make a dime. It's a tough way to make a living, and you have to love it. Why so negative about USA
@bleachedbrother

This guy's mindset towards food explains the culinary stagnation in the UK. Very limited use of seasoning, lack of creativity and lack of experimentation to explore new flavor profiles creates consumers content with traditional and boring cuisine. On the other hand, America's population is multicultural and innovative. When the UK asks "Why deep fry an Oreo?", America asks "Why not deep fry an Oreo?"

I am but a simple man slowly exploring the real use of herbs and spices. The why not mindset is a working progress though! 😆Thanks for watching.

If you want to see more about what a rodeo entails, you should really react to the video titled 'European Reacts to Her FIRST American RODEO' from the channel Eva zu Beck.

I had forgotten about her's it is a good look into small town rodeos & a good idea what they are all about. I liked her talking with the participants.

Ah.. that was just a bad comparison. I was going for the layers/texture more than the contents, apologies! 😀

This guy Ollie is purposely over the top...Its kinda like extreme attention seeking that makes me cringe...I mean, they're talking like its food Americans every day...just have a little fun at the state fair once a year, a once a year event that these hard-working folks look forward to. They're just having a little bit of fun once a year at their state fair or their state Rodeo and trying a bit of "exotic" foods they don't get to eat all year. Why would you even bring up cardiovascular health and calories and all that mess. Did I mention it was ONCE A YEAR? They make it look like British people can't have fun without experiencing a lot of shame and guilt! Not good ambassadors for their countrymen.

Ollie does that ONLY if it's American food. He has an animus against America.

You guys spend so much bleepin' time asking questions, making INCORRECT assumptions and INCORRECT predictions beforehand when if you'd JUST PRESS PLAY and WATCH THE BLEEPIN' VIDEO, you'd get your answer.😢😢

That's why they call it a reaction channel, my friend. It's two very sweet people from another culture learning about things that are literally foreign to them. And hold on to your hat, because here's the kicker - they have questions! And to make things even more wild and crazy, they've never seen the video before so they have no idea if their question is about to be answered. It's a crazy concept, I know. 😉 Love your channel, guys! And if it restores a sense of harmony, he was right about the cornbread batter and she was right about the pronunciation of pecan. I hope y'all can make it to Texas someday (don't come in the summer). I can tell your channel is going to continue to grow; wish you all the best. 😊
