@03:06 Danny Vera is not a native English speaker, he's 100% Dutch, but he is 1000% serious about the music he makes. That's what you hear. @09:32 This song was written and composed by Danny Vera. And what's more: There were no cuts or any other fiddling; Just one acoustic take!
I saw him perform this song live on Pink Pop in June. And while he was not my reason to be there (Nightwish, Floor Jansen and Metallica were) his performance was a nice bonus. There is a documentary of the reunion of the first class of the Rock Academy, he was in that class together with Floor Jansen, she's the Dutch singer of Nightwish. It followed the careers of all the people from that year.
Danny is popular in the Netherlands, his music is divers . He even has his own radio show at Veronica music station. He just plays what he likes ….country, crooners, Elvis Presley etc. Greetings from the Netherlands….
Yes, he is 100% dutch..........................you should see him and his band live in concert.............It really blew my mind........it wa sooooo fucking good
Thank you for the nice comment. In the Netherlands we have good country singers. It has been part of our culture here for decades, inspired by the music from America. Two of our biggest stars are Douwe Bob. He is a singer songwriter and a rabel boy. Ilse de Lange is our country queen. A star in the Netherlands, Germany and Belgium. Albums made in Nechville with well-known producers. In the link you can see a beautiful live performance together in a women's prison in America. ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-nw28JoB-rCU.html
Of course Vera is Dutch. Know that in percentage terms there are more Dutch people than Britons who are fluent in the British language. The Netherlands is the land of radar love.
Mostly the dutch are great at english and can speak fluind english, i am dutch myself and i just use the "accent" because i'm lazy. And yes, this guy is Dutch!
You liked this one ? Watch another one (recorded in a Dutch train). Mell & Danny Vera with *_"Tennessee Whiskey"_* (Chris Stapleton cover) | Veronica Express: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-2YNkP4WiLHQ.html&ab_channel=RadioVeronica
It is just for a couple of weeks that I realized the building up of this song ís like a roller coaster ride. Slowly, quite soft and calm, up to the top and then the drop down, the loops, the speed... and the cooling down at the end. Feels the same as when you are in that deep grieve that you start crying, first may be soft in yourself, no breath, and then the outburst, just let it go, and the cooling down, admit, surrender, relieve. Such a lovely song.
😱 did anybody mentioned he is actually Dutch? 😴😴😴😴😴 😁 Just joking. He is good, innit... Nice reaction guys.. also nice to hear the genuine surprise about his sound and dialect. 🙊 Did you know he is actually Dutch... 🙈 Fun fact" Mississippi, US, is also know as the magnolia state. It's no wonder that he is pretty popular among those who heard him over there. The magnolia touch an home coming is well found in this song.... 😎 He is Dutch, btw... 😁
My favorite dutch band is Kyteman hip hop orchestra. Kyteman aka Colin Brenders is a dutch trumpetist leading his orchestra and he was joined by a crew of hip hop and rap singers. The live was absolutely mind blowing.
Nice video! Ilse de Lange is even a Country singer. Even the English songs from Miss Montreal are very good! (she sings in Dutch language at the moment).
This is a great live performance. Love the sound of Danny. But he has many good songs. I can recommend you also songs from Waylon, Ilse de Lange, Ladies of Soul, Glennis Grace, Direct.
Krezip, OG3NE, The Jordan formely nown as Caro Emerald the lead singer of this New band, Mart Hoogkamer covers the song Uncheded melody and Anouk as DCC8 let you gents now in the coment above and all the awnsers of karin, are al so good Dutch Bands and singers to chek out.
Do try The Analogues, it's a Dutch band bringing Beatles songs live that the Beatles never performed life themselves and it's astonishing, it like listening to the original record!
Danny Verra real name is Danny Polfliet . he comes from middelburg zeeland province . One dutch song you might know and is translated by many and preformed by many Het Kleine Cafe aan de Haven ( little cafe at the harbour) Redrose cafe a dutch song transtlated in to english , german , france and many more languages .
I quite like this song. It's a bit of a throwback to country music from the sixties and seventies like from a Jim Reeves or a Glenn Campbell. The only minor criticism I could level at it is that the lyrics are very repetitive.
Well we learn english in school cause we realized a while ago its a very usefull language to know. Which is why alot of people can speak english in the netherlands both accentless or even imitate other accents if they want to.
I love this song. I go his concert met year. I can't wait. Ik you want to hear a nother great dutch song . Than you have to listen to alain Clark whit father and friend
I thought people from England were smarter then Americans🙄 Like damn what a arguments.. Is he a native English speaker...🤦🏽♀️ Maybe you should come here in the Netherlands 95% from the dutch speak english
You have clearly misunderstood us. We are well aware that the Dutch generally speak fluent English. The surprise was that he is able to sing in a native English accent. Usually when non-native speakers sing in English, we can detect a foreign accent.
PEOPLE FROM HOLLAND ARE NOT GERMAN SO STOP CALLINF US LIKE THAT! WE ARE NETHERLANDISH, hOLLANDIX OR BATAVARIANS NOT DUTCH WHICH MEANS DEUTCH WGUXH NEANS GERMAN
