I'm from Chicago and watched every bulls championship. So obviously MJ is the goat in my mind. However I watched Kobe's and labrons entire career and to me Kobe is the only one that can have a legit argument agaisnt MJ.
Thank you! I'm a lakers fan and I think in my mind is that kobe is the goat. I dont get upset when they say mj is the goat. My issue is when they try to lump bron in the conversation.
Everyone nowadays ignores defense and willingness to be the guy to put the team on their back when ranking their top players, and only cherry pick offensive stats. Kobe and Jordan played elite defense while putting up great offense, and put the team on their back, if they lost, they took the heat and not pass the blame to the coach.
@@theECM97 whoa bro, not only the fact that his dad played for the Sixers but Joe Bryant was born and died in Philly, his father and God father is legendary basketball staples in our community before Kobe. His whole family, like grandparents aunts uncles siblings roots are still here. Now on Kobe, he was born in Philly. Left when he was six and came back when he was 13 because he didn’t fit in over there in Italy I.e. he wanted to come home(Philly). Really learned and played competitive basketball here then became the best high school bball player in the country, had Brandy(in the 90’s when she’s was one of the top rnb stars) come here to attend his senior prom, that’s right she flew here, he didn’t fly out to LA. Gave the college world the middle finger and said he’s going straight to the nba when he was a high schooler here. Every holiday and break from the NBA him and his family came back to Philly and hit the local spots City line ave, favorite cheesesteak spots “Larry’s “ where he took pictures all the time; no mobs chasing him or no security draped over because he was comfortable in his old stomping grounds. They named steak after him that’s how often he visited. Oh yeah, both the Eagles and Rams won the SB recently, when the vid came out of him cheering what team was he watching nervously at the end of the game, what Jersey was he wearing, what team he celebrated with his daughters? That’s right the Philadelphia mf Eagles. Ik LA is a transplant city and you don’t truly understand the meaning of region, roots and where he developed his characteristics/tough killer Black Mamba mentality but we do and it was here! So go ahead and be grateful that LA drafted him and he brought that Philly toughness to your team and city. Now do you understand what “Born and Bred” means ? Screw you…Go Birds!!
California majorly claims Kobe due to the fact how much he loved the lakers organization. Also spending 20+ years in California and raising his kids here
Just like any sport. As far as being the best player or the best games depends on the Era. My favorite basketball plyers in the 70's were all on the Phoenix Suns. Truck Robinson and the Arndale Twins.
After Kobe settled his case in Colorado and stepped into the lead role for the Lakers, he switched to the number 24. Almsot like a rebirth, and that is when he became the "Mamba." Interestingly, Kobe played 20 total seasons in the NBA: 10 seasons as number "8" and 10 seasons as number "24." To answer the question of how good Kobe was, if you take his career numbers as 8 and 24 independently as two careers, he would make that NBA Hall of Fame in both.
Wilt Chamberlain. Hands down in terms of dominance. Who is even close? Bill Russell, hands down in terms of Winners (11 rings!). Pele in soccer. Sorry Daz.
nah kobe is the best bc of his dedication and how you can perfect ur craft to become the best basketball player, lebron and jordan def put work but their game comes easier due to the talent that kobe didnt have all kobe had was height, and his average vertical at 36 the way he practiced how to jump and dunk perfect def made his #8 version look like he had a 40 inch vertical
This is a better video of Kobe: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-BaTd_F2yIrU.htmlsi=H_HurI3g4nW_TPni , not so much the video you watched that was more about concocted drama
Dear readers. History did not begin with your birth or the advent of MJ and those who came after. Wilt, Wilt, Wilt, Russell, Elgin, Jerry West, Kareem, Bird, Magic, Dr. J--back when they hammered you when you entered the lane and there were real centers and not these power forwards masquerading as centers--Wilt, Bob Lanier, Willis Reed, Nate Thurmond, Artis Gilmore, etc. would have knocked Joker on his ass (and there was not G-D violation for the defense sagging into the lane--God Almighty--and you were not allowed to carry the ball every time you dribbled--what a joke--makes it easier for everyone to dribble/ballhandle), Walt "Clyde" Frazier great all-around guard--maybe the best defensive guard ever (sorry, Gary Payton). Hey, just because you don't know it, does not mean it is not legit.
People generally lump him in with MJ and LeBron but he’s honestly in the 5-7 range of all time in my opinion And statistics Kobe was an average clutch shooter
