#nba OB Daz and OB Aidan react to the best plays from Victor Wembanyama in the NBA this season. Support us on Patreon: / officeblokedaz Instagram: officeblokedaz Link to original video: • Victor Wembanyama play...
he's gotten better all year. he's averaging almost 4 assists per game now which is insane for a rookie big man. he's younger than Zach Edey. he has no weaknesses in his game. people use the term "generational" too loosely but Victor isn't even generational, he's one of a kind
Every week I see something I’ve never seen before from by someone of his height. The way he moves, I’m sure every 7 footer in the league wishes they had the same agility and speed
I heard he has been doing intense stretching and mobility training for a very long time. His personal trainers knew that for him to be a a successful athlete at his incredible height he would have to train his mobility, which obviously has paid off immensely.
The level of talent he has at his size? Unheard of. And the scary thing is he seems very injury resistant. The NBA is on notice, next year will be interesting. I'm not even into basketball very much, but Wemby is dragging me in :D
Saw a funny video on Twitter with pretty identical fastbreaks by Christian Braun vs Gobert And Wemby. Wemby just stood there and broke up the play while Gobert got his shit rocked 😂😂
he had high expectations and he's still surprising people, gonna be real fun to watch this kid's career play out and on top of all this, we have a cool rivalry going on between him and Chet as two similar great rookies. as far as entertainment goes, we're getting spoiled lol
3:00 wemby probably doesn’t plan on bulking out a lot, it seems he’s going the kareem way of just getting as strong as possible in his joints and core. you should see some of the falls he takes which would give most guys his size career ending injuries and he just gets up. he takes very good care of his body
Bulking wouldn't be that great because 30 pounds more mean higher injury risk : ankles and knees can't bear the weight as well. Most of all, he would be slower and less mobile...
I like the Mbappe comparison but I’ve actually said before he reminds me more of Jude Bellingham. Both 20 years old, very mature for their age, and silky smooth.
I see what you were saying to me before their body capabilities above everyone he got that same DAWG Cristiano/Kobe mentality as Mbappe watching peers like Messi Neymar /KD Curry Lebron Giannis in the eyes not as fan but as rivals
It's very, very difficult to "bulk up" at the size Wembanyama is. At that height, he may want to honestly limit his weight to an extent or he could possibly face the lingering foot injuries so many extremely tall big man face (e.g. Yao Ming).
he's probably already put on 10 lbs from the beginninng of the season. idk just watching his highlights over the year he looks like he's gotten stronger for sure. 10lbs just isn't that visible when you're 7'5 in shoes. he's never gonna look like giannis but he doesn't need to if he has functional strength
@@darnell-mooney I'm not saying he shouldn't get any bigger- just that for the sake of his longevity he should probably have a maximum playing weight. Maybe 245-255. Still "skinny" for someone as tall as he is, but still comparable to more built, albeit shorter, bigmen like an Embiid.
Yeah for sure, he's more of a kd type of player anyways and relies on his speed and crazy movement for someone his height. I have no idea if it's even reasonable for him to get anywhere close to giannis/jokic/embiids size cause he'd sacrifice what makes him so great tbh.
His little brother is in high school and is approaching 7’ quickly himself. There could be another Wemby in the league in a few years which is crazy to think about.
There's a few different generation of NBA players going right now. Some guys could belong to one of these groups or multiple depending on exactly how you want to classify them. The old guys: Lebron, KD, Hardin, Westbrook and company The young guys: Giannis, Jokic, Embid, Doncic and friends The babies: Wemby, Chet Holmgren, Anthony Edwards, LaMello Ball, Paolo Panchero and a host of others All "generations" are performing at an insanely high level (well maybe not guys like Westbrook) and all giving the NBA a bright future, even when the older guys decide to hang it up.
Wemby is only 20 years old and on limited minutes for his team the average starter gets prolly 32 minutes depending on your teams depth and wemby gets like 4 or 5 mins less which is almost an entire half of a quarter now the suepr stars the people compare his numbers to of the present and pst avergaged prolly 40 mins a game.
He will have a great career. Hopefully his lanky body can hold up. Guys that are built like that usually have all sorts of knee and ankle and leg problems.
The main reason is their weight. Everybody says he must bulk up and gain 30-40 muscle pounds but if he does, he will be slower and will be injured more often. No 7'4 player had his strengh while being thin :
I know exactly what your pops meant about the Mbappe comparison. Wemby is actually a big fan of Mbappe and as he is from Paris looked up to him when he was a teenager. They have built up a connection now too
Absolutely ready for the “ you’re an ignorant American” comments but, I can’t stand watching soccer/futbol. Just a personal preference, nothing against those that do. I only say that because I wanted to congratulate my guy for seeing a game at every premier league stadium. Regardless of what we like or don’t like, we can all agree sports can bring us together. What an awesome accomplishment!
