Bluebell Butter Pecan is my favorite kind of ice cream. Drinking water will not help with the burn of hot peppers. Only milk will help neutralize the capsaicin in the pepper.
Walmart is a shopping center that has just about everything, including groceries. Every state has a Walmart. Most towns have at least one. A grocery store sells nothing but groceries.
HEB Plus has more than Groceries.. They sell seasonal stuff, toys, Books and some clothes.. My HEB is 180,000 sq foot. and it has all of that.. they used to have an electronics section too.. Have their own gas station too.
HEB is a Texan grocery store that is only in Texas. The company was founded on November 26, 1905, when Florence Butt opened the C.C. Butt Grocery Store on the ground floor of her family home in Kerrville, Texas. In 1919, Howard Edward Butt, Florence's youngest son, took over the store upon his return from World War 1. Texas also has Walmart and Sam's, that is an equivalent to what others states have... Costco.
HEB sources locally first if possible for their store brand products, and pays their employees very well. They also promote from within so a bag boy can easily path themselves to upper management if they have skills and a long term want to stay with HEB. Also, their products are quality AF. The Blue Bell ice cream reaction is warranted. It’s legit amazing.
The sushi made in store is actually made by a sushi chef. The quality varies between stores. My local store has really good salmon, ill get a combo or two if i see its been freshly made. If you let it sit for a while, it gets that "grocery store sushi" taste from drying out a bit.
@@TangentOmega Yes, I’ve been since. I was just really sad that day. Because all of my friends were going and I was stuck at home, throwing up in a bucket, with a high fever and a depression about the ice cream I would not have that day.
Nando's has come to the US but it's not in all states yet. Even though there isn't one in Indy, you can buy Nando's Peri-Peri sauce in our Grocery stores
Nice! The Nando’s sauce in supermarkets will taste very different to the ones they sell in their restaurants - the one in their restaurant are incredible 👏
@@yassandfatsFats being a peanut butter lover like myself has me wondering, do you guys have reeses peanut butter cup ice cream in Britain? If not, we do here and it's downright delicious! It's the reeses brand like the candy bar itself, so 100% authentic and not a copy.
I live in San Antonio which is where some of the H-E-B headquarters are located and is more similar to an actual grocery store than a Walmart which is known for very low prices…heb has low prices AND their in-house brands (affordable items & expensive items) are better than the national brands. So many local items from local growers and brands unite to the state plus lots of Texas shaped items l: foods, cast iron pans, charcuterie boards (premade in the deli, and wooden boards to DIY. The only reason I still live here as a single woman is because of heb. Heb deploys food and hygiene stations before the national agency FEMA even convenes a meeting of how to spend the budget. I know I’m extolling a grocery store, but one of their slogans is absolutely true, “no store does more than my heb” 😊 ❤
HEB is a mighty fine grocery store, that may also have lots of other useful items, like everything you need for bbq, a limited amount of auto, school, kitchen, etc.. Not a Walmart, but definitely much better and bigger than any grocery store you've ever seen. In my estimation, if you are going to travel all over America, then getting an RV (Recreational Vehicle) is the safest, most convenient, and comfortable way to get around. Always refill the fuel and empty the toilet grey water tank, before turning in your RV; otherwise, you will be charged for it at their prices. Blue Bell 🎐🔔 is real ice cream. Butter-Pecan has a lovely light flavor that is incredible, you must try it.
Texas has Walmart stores all over the place. H-E-B was founded in Texas. I've never heard of one being in another state. It started in Kerrville, Texas, in the "Hill Country" of South-Central Texas. There are H-E-B stores in other cities, now, but that's a relatively new thing. Although "new", at my age, is relative, as well! Thanks for the video and reaction, and God bless you!
Nandos came to American in 2008, it is Illinois, Maryland, Virginia, Texas, Georgia, and DC. They have sauces many fast food and fasul casual restaurants sold in Grocery stories beside Chick-Fila.
When I was going to school in Florida, my parents bought me a car to get around. I lasted a semester and half before I wanted to come home. I threw everything into my car and drove from FL to Cali. Driving across TX took forever and I gained 8 lbs. there. All the food places and snacks. If I had to do it all over again, I would’ve ate at more places.😂🎉
The store on Bandera/1604 access rd is about that size (the one I shop at since it opened).. Hard to say exactly because they have added on some with the online ordering and pick up sections.
I'm from Texas, and I agree that Blue Bell ice cream's "butter pecan" flavor is the best. Blue Bell is based in Texas, but can be bought several Southern states.
The Chick-Fil-A reference at 3:12 and following refers to a large fast food chain that sells only chicken as their meat. NO beef or pork. And the "do they take it off the shelf on Sunday" joke refers to the fact that the chain is closed on Sunday, allowing their employees the chance to attend worship, be with their families, etc. They are the only fast food chain that does this. Blue Bell ice cream is headquartered in a town northwest of Houston, Texas. It's good ice cream, and I like it, but I've also had equally delicious ice cream in other brands. They are more of an upscale brand like Ben & Jerry's.
Point also being that even with Sundays off, they are doing great in terms of revenue. They owners and family continue to say they will closed on Sundays. Impressive stands to have in this time and age.
HEB is a Texas thing, but it does expand to states around Texas, and it's in many states of Mexico. I remember when HEB was small. It has grown so much that it's crazy. ITS A SOUTH THING like Miejer is a northern thing only in Michigan, Wisconsin, and other states up north.
Texas has Walmart. This is a grocery store, not a general store. It's big, but there's big grocery stores elsewhere as well. There's one in my city that's big. We have two isles of just cheese. IMHO Chik-fil-a is way overrated. Popeyes wins.
Where I live in Southeast Houston our HEB is bigger than our Walmart lol granted the HEB got to build a new location and Walmart purchased an existing one.
All most every state in America has a Walmart. They’re not all supercenter Walmarts, some are what they call neighborhood Walmarts. These are smaller, usually without grocery centers. They have some foods but not like delis, bakerys, and meat sections.
H-E-B, BBQ, Tex-Mex, Chili, Chicken-Fried Steak, Kolaches, frito pie, Breakfast Tacos, Queso and Chips, Pecan Pie, Sweet Tea, Dr. Pepper, Big Red, Blue Bell, Frozen Margarita, Whataburger (Waterburger by local Texans), and Buc'ees are all Texas staples. H-E-B is our home away from home.
Here in Texas, we have Wal-Marts everywhere. Where I live in River Oaks, TX, I literally have 3 Wal-Marts within a 5-10 min drive from my home. Which for my area, we are WAY out pacing 7-11, as we only have one within the same area. Also, the "sushi" was California rolls, and the "cheeto dust" was salmon roe. Also, I find it so funny that Wal-Mart and HEB+ are must go-to stores for British people, but for us, it is a headache.
Depends on your Walmart, the one in my town usually has really good produce. However I have been in one in another state and the entire store was kind of sad…as was the produce.
Walmart has a grocery section, but it’s in the back of the store. The rest of the store is other stuff like toys in one section and men and women’s clothes in their own sections and housewares in another section and automotive and another section and so on
Depends on your store, we have a Walmart Super store in my town and the grocery department is huge and has everything you could think of, including some brands I can’t find at Safeway.
I live three miles from one Walmart Supercenter, and approximately seven miles from another, and both have separate entrances for the grocery department. You don't have to walk to the back to get to the groceries, as there's a huge portion of one side of the building for groceries. The store closest to me is much larger than the other.
@@LMmccallL57 that’s exactly how mine is set up. Entrance on the far right is the grocery section, and it runs from the front to the back of the store.
HEB is just a grocery store. Walmart is in every state with lots of locations in each state. Sometimes it's a Super Walmart so it's a comparable size to that HEB Plus. Some are just Walmart grocery. We have a Walmart so it's all things from food to clothes, toys, electronics, pharmacy, etc., automotive but we also have a Walmart grocery store in a different part of town. Popeye's doesn't have sauces that they sell in grocery stores like Chick-Fil-A and Whataburger.
Yes Many Walmarts in Tx..Super Walmarts..HEB is a grocery store..you can buy like small appliances..kitchen utensils..mostly food though..super friendly staff. They have many of their own brands..Blue Bell Ice cream is the best made in Tx..tortillas are awesome when fresh..there are 2 of them within 2 miles of me..Austin Tx area
LMAO @ this man saying “I’m in a car park in Texas, eating a tortilla, absolutely loving life.” Holler if y’all come through Austin, TX! We’ll steer you right. Fun content!! Keep it up 👍🏽
We have Walmart, lol! HEB is a grocery store. Some of the larger ones also have a small home section and a small clothing section. They are not like a Walmart at all.
Yes there are thousands of Walmart's in Texas but there are other huge chain grocery stores also. More in some places than others. Oh I hate the cereal ice cream. I can't eat it but the butter pecan is one of my favorite.
Texas has a Walmart. We lived in Texas many, many years ago. HEB was a store I did all of My grocery shopping. It was nothing like this. It was just a simple grocery store. This was 40 years ago. So I'm sure a lot of things have changed since then.
Indeed I've heard of Nandos on these videos. That's something I want to check out when I get to Britain someday.... it's an 11 hour trip for me, from San Jose, California, USA, to London, but there's so much history and other stuff to see there. 🙂 and we speak "the same" language. 🙂
If you have anything made with Carolina reaper chilies, unless you reaaally like spice, you need milk on hand. Water just moves the spice around in your mouth, down your throat, etc. Milk neutralizes the spice.
HEB actually has a decent tuna and salmon poke bowls and sushi. As you mentioned, it's not on the same level as a good sushi bar. If you visit Austin, I do recommend you also visit the Austin original Whole Foods Market!!
You can't g wrong with Chick-fil-A, Popeyes or any of the other chicken franchises. It really depends on you taste. Somethime I crave Chick-fil-A or Popeyes. Having many options is good.
Some men may not know that you purchase items from the dairy last, especially ice cream because it will melt as you are shopping for other things. Yes, we have a lot of sweet items, which is not a good thing.
Oops, left one off the list: Mi Tienda. H-E-B also delivers groceries. Now not sure if this stands, but in 2023 H-E-B was the #1 grocery retailer in the U.S.
You can't really compare Popeye's and Chic-fil-A . . . they are totally different....both are delicious! Drives me a bit nuts when people do a taste test and eat say Popeye's and Chic-fil-A . . because they are different and need to be eaten for what they are. Popeye's is Louisiana based flavors and sauces - where as Chick-fil-A is a basic good fried chicken patty, or nuggets etc. not as extremely seasoned but extremely good just the same -- different! Like comparing Taco Bell which is good for a mexican fast food and a sit-down Tex-Mex....both are good but completely different. Hot chips like that are really good dipped in sour cream!! Cuts a bit of the heat but still get all the taste and heat!
I love Blue Bell homemade vanilla. I just wish they had just plain old chocolate because I don't care for the Dutch Chocolate. We have double and triple rolls of toilet paper.
The truth is Harold's mother started the HEB grocery store in the Texas hill country. When Harold returned from WW1, he expanded the grocery store his mother started and created what HEB is today and putting his name on the corporation.
Thank you for getting the first name right. It was when he returned from WWll, not WWI. He expanded in Corpus Christi,to begin with. It was in mid-twentieth century that supermarkets started to replace smaller neighborhood grocery stores. He was legendary for his kind benevolent business practices. That’s why most Corpus Christi natives wince a little when we hear strangers making fun of his name. He gave a great deal to the city of Corpus Christi and to the state. I’ve lived in other parts of the country where the store brand is usually inferior to the name brand; but at HEB the store brand is often superior,or at least as good, and cheaper. The slogan is: “I love my HEB”.
Please understand not all American cereal is sweet. There are what are termed mature cereals as well non sweetened. Plus, there are cereals such as granola that are termed healthy cereals.
At least that’s how it’s generally set up because I know somebody in the comments is going to mention “ it’s not that way my store!” that’s not what I’m talking about
Texas has Walmart, HEB is just better...way way way better. They offer very affordable items that are still very good quality, but also have very high quality for decent prices. And you can find anything. The Bakery is really good, fresh warm bread and tortillas.....so so good
Not all territories. Guam, America Samoa, Northern Mariana, and US Virgin Islands do not. Your comment made me google it to fact check. The more you know. 🌈
