Through modern technology-- a wonderful dream performance of "For Good" happened between #BrittneyJohnson and #SayconSengbloh. After much speculation and excitement I finally united with Brittney Johnson to make beautiful music together! Did you ever think you'd see Elphaba & Galinda rocking Box braids and Senegalese Twists! 🙋🏽‍♀️💁🏾‍♀️ I don't think so! But we gave it to you honey-- hot off the presses! I hope we get to do it again in person together or heck, even socially distanced but at least in the same room. Enjoy!

If I ever direct Wicked Live on NBC, I will cast two talented black women to play Elphaba and Glinda. And I know I'm a black teen who wants to perform on Broadway, but I want to direct this. You are both so talented and amazing and when I'm on Broadway, I hope to work with you

Saycon Senbouh should have had an official run on Broadway! Every clip I've heard of you singing has been filled with power and passion, amazing. You and Brittney sound amazing together and I hope you ever make a return to Wicked as Elphaba, even if it be just one night. I think it'd be a momentous occasion to see two black women playing lead roles for the first time in such a groundbreaking musical, and it'd inspire so many. Once again, amazing job!

OMG, how did I not know this video existed until now! One of my favorite people to play Elphie and still sounding amazing in the role 15 years later! I hope to see you perform in something live on Broadway or tour and hoping to see Brittney as Glinda once Wicked comes back after the pandemic. What a beautiful pairing.

I may have these facts wrong, but if these facts are correct... Only three black women have played the role of Elphaba On Broadway Only one black woman has played Elphaba in the West End Only one black woman has played Glinda Clearly there is an issue that Wicked needs to fix immediately

Honestly, I always wonder why there haven’t been many more black or generally any other POC Elphaba’s, like isn’t Elphaba technically in a since a POC? Like, the only other black Elphaba I can think of is Brandi and as good as she was, her singing was iffy at some points which is why I personally like how Saycon sings as Elphaba more. Elphaba only defining description is she’s green it doesn’t necessarily say she has to be played by a specific color. Which is why everyone had a problem with Glinda being played by Brittney despite this simply being acting, acting comes up to the viewers imagination of the situation whilst most musicals are direct, we have to realize these are people playing a character on stage and that the color of their skin isn’t going to define the act. Which is why I always thought there should definitely be more inclusivity on Broadway, and although I understand not a lot of African Americans want to go into this field because I can say this as one myself that a lot of the people I know don’t know what musicals are unless you’re talking about Hamilton, or don’t care about Broadway in general. That’s another big reason why we don’t see a lot of black actors on Broadway shows or black actors in general. I’m just hoping that not only does it include more African American people playing the big roles in Wicked but also include other races into the mix because a character shouldn’t just be resigned to one appearance, the point is to make the character themselves, that’s why you see all the Glinda’s play Glinda differently but the same.
