You could suddenly become unwell or god forbid, fall down and break a leg or suffer some other medical emergency. While these trips are no doubt satisfying, it is advisable to have a companion (a spouse, a friend or simply anyone who has the love of the mountains!) who could help you if the need arises, travel with you.
