I love Tom standing in the middle of the river saying "We're going to get, it's raining". A lot of the fun, is in the adventure.

Sorry I didn't post last week. Got the day off cause the remnants of Fred. That's your Green Mountain blue clay we got tons up here can't tell you how much I dug. Makes building and proper drainage real tuff. Holds water and heaves like you read about when it's cold. Gotta love running those Vermont back roads. Easy to see why roadhunting is such a temptation. What's not to like taking in Vermont's beauty from the cab of a pickup. Most time leave the gun at home less trouble. Went to nightingale pawn over in Lisbon NH on Tuesday. Drove up mill brook up to Landaff center. Bang around some back roads went by Pearl lake. When in VT and NH I never use maps or GPS I did look at maps before we go. Thanks for turning me on to this town. Absolutely beutiful reminds me of the NH 40 years ago. Well sorry you didn't find alot of gold in broad brook. Happy exploring and as always peace

hey if you guys know where Charlemont Massachusetts is look for Deerfield River supposed to have flake size gold found check it out make a video I want to know if there's anything to be found there that would be cool.

Deerfield river does have gold. I'm hoping to get out to Western Mass this fall.

I don't feel so bad when I just don't find that magic rock with the golden egg under it. I began using my dowsing rods a lot to locate spots instead of random hunts. If it was not such a short time to do so much digging and panning, one wouldn't feel as bad when no gold shows up to the party. I am processing wild lettuce extract for pain, to help my sciatics that doesn't like to dig. Ok need to get brain pills so I can remember where I lost my new phone! What a bummer! Great video. But I was telling at you Wess to fill your hat with water and cool off! And then you did.

I heard that all the camp sights off Hale hollow rd got flooded and permanently closed. I hope not, but river came so high it washed many away.

They were closed before the flood. They shut them down as they were too close to the brook.

Well, I won't be able to comment on my tablet. I am not sure why but live stream chat doesn't come in on it. I lost my new cell phone and I can't remember even a little where I might have put it down. The plus side is in not watching it as much and getting work done. Bad side is no one can reach me. Or that could be a plus, depending. But I will be watching.

Oh, It died on the day I misplaced it. I will have cleaned everywhere looking for it. I guess that is not a bad thing. Just reorganized camping gear in car for the 4th time looking. Rummaging through camper again for the 6th time. It's kind of scary when the remember part of brain won't cooperate.

I camped and prospected Broad Brook many years, most of the best spots are on private land by permission. Unlike WMNF, it's ok to show "Shovel use" in your videos there in Vermont, it's legal! Heavy Pans.

I know I can use a shovel but I forgot to pack it in the truck...lol...I've been back there since this video. Great river. Got to dig into the clay and break it up. You are mentioned in this weeks video coming up. I just got finished editing it....This week for dinner is Chicken Teriyaki with the Bobby Freedom garlic boost...Don't miss it...lol...We happened to be texting at dinner time.

Advice - you guys are wayyyy tooo far east. You need to be near Killington to find gold. I find gold on the killington golf course.

There is good gold in Broad Brook. I've found a lot there since this day.

Did you ever go to the Harvard Museum in Cambridge Mass. Right on the campus at Harvard. The got a geological exhibit feature gold from the Wild Omonussuc. Now the first thing any good Treasure hunter does before panning or using a metal detector is head to the library. If all that gold came out of one spot a little research might turn up where. Gold ain't the only precious stuff to come out of New England, The Great Carbuncle is out there somewhere

@@hipbeeexplorer It is a shortstory by Nathanial Hawthorn in a book called "Twice Told Tales" He wrote ghost stories like "The House of Seven Gables" and such. The Great Carbuncle is a huge gem stone hidden in the White Mountains that nobody can find but everybody sees a flash of it from a distance.A Lost Dutchmkan Mine or a King Solomon'sMine story but in New Hampshire. I recommend the whole book but you can just google the story or it may be on youtube. Everytime I drive thru Crawford or Franconia Notch I look for a glint out of respect for Hawthorn

This is how the cow chews the cabbage. 1..GOD does not deduct time on earth spent fishing 2 GOD gives you more time on earth if you take a kid fishing 3. GOD usually puts more gold in your pan when you take a kid panning
