I work for an internet radio station that broadcasts shows live on RU-vid also. Even though we have sent licenses to RU-vid and we pay royalties on all music, we still get blocked by RU-vid. We have had artists in studio singing their own music that they wrote and recorded and still get livestream either blocked or shutdown.

Great video, very clear and concise ! I founded a radio station back in 2009 which is still broadcasting today 24/7/365. You mentioned that RU-vid are very strict on Copyright licensing. What would I have to do to be compliant and does every radio station have to do this ? (Say it was Capital Radio for instance or Radio 1) We broadcast our stream, using shoutcast and have had no hassle for 10 years and no one has said Boo to us about compliance. I don't wish any copyright hassle for our decade old radio station. Any advice you can give would be great ! ;-) (On a sidenote, the copyright Police are getting ridiculous, soon you wont be able to walk down the street and whistle a tune you heard on the radio before being reprimanded for a copyright violation!!!) ;-)

Hello and thanks for the tutorial. I followed the steps and everything is streaming ok but the audio from my radio station on RU-vid sounds weak and bright. Any settings or filters/plugins on OBS to improve my radio stream's audio quality? How do we get that bassy sound and make the overall sound bigger? Thanks for your consideration and support!

This would be good for In Studio Action... If your a legit station playing music, so only in studio mic's would be active, as your music would be streaming on a Licensed stream. So those Listeners tuned in, would be hearing your show in full. Those Watching your video stream would only hear your announcing songs or general information, they would not hear the music. Don't think there is a License to cover Video/Audio at the same time. I've watched FM Stations broadcast in the Studio action with DJ's/Hosts but you would not hear the music. Unless your tuned in on their Stream or listening on a FM Radio, but watching and listening audio would not be in sync.

Hi Jay! In order to get the VLC source in OBS, you’ll need to install the matching bitness (32bit or 64bit) of VLC on your computer. Then close and re-open OBS and you should see the VLC source. 😊

It doesn’t work for me. I have followed every steps of the tutorial but when I copy the url of my radio in the source (vlc audio) there’s no sound. I have tried again many times but still no sound. I have sent an email to the support team at RadioKing, they answered very quickly, but they said there’s something wrong in the tutorial and they have to fix this. Anyway, I still have no sound and no clue how to fix this. Can anyone help me with that ?

Hi there, thanks for your feedback. After seeing your message, a member of our team retraced the steps of our tutorial. They where successful in broadcasting their radio station live through OBS by following our video. If you’re still having issues, we invite you to: - Delete OBS and download it again: obsproject.com/fr - Check that you have the 64-bit version of OBS, and the 64-bit version of VCL. - Check that your radio station is broadcasting correctly on its own (and verify if you have protected your stream with the geo-protection feature which may interfere with your live broadcast on RU-vid.) - Remember that if you broadcast commercial music in your live broadcast, RU-vid will mute and restrict your live broadcast.

RU-vid is rubbish for radio.. copyright stops you from playing most music unless you play over 60 year old music. This is only for talk shows blah blah blah

That's why we suggest you only broadcast your talk shows. 😊 However, this can still be a great option if you're doing an interview for example, your listeners may be interested in viewing the video broadcast!

I agree !! Radio isint just talking lol real radio is talking and popular music. I’m sorry I don’t see the point in live radio on RU-vid when Apps let u with no hassle , why would we ?? 😂 stuff RU-vid ! Just stream ! Else where everyone
