UK here. A quick tip for dealing with AP mode is that turning off the mobile network on your fone often helps pairing. RM4 pro is very nice, but since I've had mine, I've realised that broadlink have got a bad habit of region-locking broadlink-affiliate devices. Case in question - I bought a Unison bulb that uses the magic home-smart home app (smart home plus ..NOT the Magic Home Wifi app). The bulb said Germany/China region, and the Magic Home app is exactly like the broadlink one - so I had to try see if the RM4 could utilise it. But although broadlink finds the bulb and recognises it, it won't install it because it says it's the wrong region. So my issues are.. *why name a company with such a similar name to a different app? It makes it hard to find information online when there's issues. *why does broadlink region-lock devices, and why is it so hard to suss what region a device is before you buy it? *is brexit causing (or is going to cause) issues with us in the UK using European servers?
👍Nice, love the universal remote that could control channels on your Tv with google assistant!

How to work with the expensive Broadlink MS1 speaker? The new Broadlink app is not recognising it, the old e-Control app is dead with the MS1. Any advise?
Can you please talk about the security aspect of Broadlink, I believe all the data from our system is being sent to the company in China which does not necessarily abide by the other countries legislation.
im confused most bulbs are wifi not remote controlled looks like the broadlink handles them anyway. i like the noapp function i have multiple brands so this would be helpful. can i set broadlink to press a set of buttons in order so a scene example would be me saying "Alexa Movie time". assuming my ceiling lights blinds and lamp plugs are smart would this then do the following. turn off ceiling lights lower blinds turn on lamp turn on tv change tv to hdmi 1 turn on surround change surround to input one set volume to 20? would that be possible all in one command and is it possible to add a delay between button presses done by the rm4 pro because sometimes you cant change the tv to hdmi the second you press power? thanks for the great video
Thanks for the helpful video, couldn't seem to find anyone who actually went this in-depth with the broadlink ecosystem and universal remote functionality. Am currently thinking of getting one for my home but I got a couple of questions. For the remote, you were able to connect it to an LG TV with magic remote support yes? I have an LG TV my self and am thinking of getting either the RM4 Pro or Mini since my rooms got both an AC unit and TV that I would want to add smart functionality to. I've been trying to figure out if the TV can be controlled using either the Mini or the Pro since I dont know how the magic remote works, does the broadlink remote you have control the TV using RF or IR? Secondly, If i were to get the pro where should one place it? Does it require direct line of sight for IR devices and RF devices, like is there a part of the remote needing direct line of sight or is there a cone of effect from a point on the device? Sorry if the comment is long, this is the only good info I have found at all today and it has been a great help in deciding what to buy. Again great video with great explanations! Edit: Forgot to ask if the temperature and humidity sensors in the remote can be added to Google Routines, and how well does the remote and its connected devices integrate with the Google home ecosystem in general
Hi maybe someone here can help me figure this out. I have bought the smart light bulbs and a smart switch. But somehow when I activate the lights they get added to the wrong Cloud server which causes me to not be able to access all the devices when I connect my Google Home app to the Broadlink services. Is there any way to change the light bulb's location of cloud server? It gets added automatically so I wouldn't know how to go about it.
I connected to the Broadlink_WiFi_Device ssid network but it doesn't do anything. I'm able to connect to the network but I can't see any configuration page or anything. I tried 192.168.10.1 but it doesnt work.
It appears with even this newest Broadlink unit, if you simply want to change the wifi network it's connected to, it means you reseting the device AND CLEARNING BASICALLY DEFINITION (DEVICES/REMOTES/SCENES) you defined for them. Utterly UTTERLY stupid! Just to change the wifi network! Total wipe!
@@GeekStreet Only saving grace is:- 1) I did screen shots of all my existing scenes. 2) Although the action remotes/devices (eg: TV/Amp) are lost, and the contents of the scenes are lost, the scenes themselves (with nothing in) are left behind, and Alexa's Routines mapped to them are there too. So just need to create the remotes/devices again, populated the controls in the (empty) scenes, and it then falls back into place again. I'm also using the new Broadlink App, rather than the old ""ihc For EU", which picked up those left over scenes etc. ps: It implies your remote control/device data is stored on the physical unit and not the cloud if a reset clear it? But your routines are on the cloud.
