This building has no fire walls separating the units, in fact there are no internal walls higher than the wall plate - this you can see right from the street. This is why fire in one unit propagated to all others on the first floor. This building doesn't comply with fire safety regulations for residential units. I wonder if there was any documentation (with sign offs by professionals) issued for occupation of the building. The building looks like it was converted from an office park but it seems attention was not properly paid to requirements for the conversion. But even for an office park you need fire breaks. It is a very sad situation for all affected 😢😢😢.
