The is one of the best scenes in the history of cinema. It's perfect. I love everything about it. The music, the lighting, the closeups, the surrogate family of talent-challenged misfits, I could go on and on.
I think Manhattan is a masterpiece but if I had to pick my favorite ending to a Woody Allen film, this would be it. It snowing as he catches up to her in front of the Carnegie Deli....MAGIC. Fun Fact, that deli had a sandwich named after Allen, unfortunately it closed down a couple of years ago.
Since the Soon Yi kerfuffle, I'd thought that Mia Farrow was loopy. Now seeing her act in this film and knock it out of the park, I've got so much respect for her monumental talent. Plus, Woody is a giant of a serious actor. Christ, I was so off target about both of them.
I think it’s Nick Apollo Forte’s song, ‘My Bambina’ which he sings in the film. Haven’t checked, but I haven’t seen BDR for years and it’s just my impression.
