Just Lea's voice casually being identical to how it was 25 years ago. Queen of technique and the result is her voice has been protected throughout the years. Take note!
Ben Abella you only think that because you're proud to be a Filipino. they are all extremely talented and they all gave outstanding performances. Lea hardly shined more than the others in this sheesh
Umm... I’m presuming you stopped the video before Kyle Scatcliffe began singing immediately after her... that guy blew everyone off the stage... most amazing Enjolras I’ve heard since Anthony Warlow.
Even if Lea was not wearing a pink dress, her sole presence was more than enough to command the stage. Then anyone could tell her voice has summed all up the company's performance. Perfect!
haha... Eponine should've never fallen for Marius, what's he got to offer anyway? He's just a soft pretty boy. I always shipped her with Enjolras -- they have a similar fierceness deserving of each other. Of course, Enjolras is too busy with organizing the revolution and the two never really crossed paths! Who cares about your lonely soul? We strive toward a larger goal. Our little lives don't count at all.
My personal theory as to why Eponine liked Marius was just that he was 1) the only kind person in her life and 2) the epitome of all the things she could have been (rich, beautiful, young, optimistic, etc.). I agree that it's a shame Eponine never had the opportunity to enjoy the world on a broader scale and meet more people - whether they would have been the right person for her or whether they would have just shown her that Marius wasn't the be all and end all.
yeah I can totally see that, it's a good theory. Still doesnt change the fact that I will always see Marius as quite a bit of a frou frou pants... which he was LOL.
anrina really? He made the choice on his own to move away from the comfort of his rich grandfather's house after realizing his flawed his political beliefs were, educated himself, learned English and German and got a job translating books, which paid quite little, but before he even got that job lived in poverty (not on the level of eponine's, but pretty damn bad) in an apartment alone, refusing the financial assistance his grandfather tried to give because of how his grandfather raised him to believe his father abandoned him (which he didn't)? Sorry I just don't understand how you see him that way?
Just discovered Jeremy as a singer, watched a few videos before this and I'm amazed, and seeing him sing a LesMis song with Lea Salonga whom I love too is too much! his voice is great.
Lea and Norm Lewis! omfg! goosebumps! and the one singing enjolras part could'nt hide his smile when Lea sang ahhh her voice did not change so clear and heavenlike! yasss slay queen! 🌟🌟🌟
Event Coordinator: Okay guys, please remember to wear classical colors. You know, something that doesn't attract too much attention. Lea: PINK. PINK SOUNDS GOOD. AND IMMA BE IN THE MIDDLE WHERE I'M THE ODD ONE OUT! No offense people, I love Lea too. She's one of my great inspirations
Lina Lea Salonga is one of the best Eponines if not the best. But not all Eponines were great, there was one who sounded like a cow in labor. I'd rather not name names.
Pamela Hermano He wasn't available. He was in rehearsal in Sarasota, Florida for the pre-Broadway production of the musical "Bonnie and Clyde" as the lead, Clyde Barrow. He followed the show to Broadway where it debuted November 2011.
I'd have taken pretty much anyone over Nick Jonas.... the cast was so good until he sang. Ramin and Hadley had their wonderful moment in Drink With Me and then the whining pop voice of Nick sounded really pathetic. Can't have been easy for him though knowing he was singing alongside some of the best actors in the West End.
its all about attracting people to watch it...unfortunately "the people" aka the losers who arent musical theater nerds will be drawn in by celebrity recognition instead of actual talent hence someone mediocre like nick jonas (had the same thought exactly when i watched that version over the weekend) if you want to cleanse your soul, watch the 10th anniversary concert edition, best version of les mis out there
How much has Nick Jonas paid to get the role? It was embarrassing. He might be good in pop music (for tthe teenies) But he definitely hasn't fit in the musical - especially not for the anniversary!!!
Love this! I think that Lea's choice of outfit is symbolic really. Eponine is the one character in the song thatkind of gets lost. By wearing such a bright color, the audience is naturally drawn to her. However as Eponine, the one who doesn't see her is the one person she wants to see her.
John Owen-Jones is seriously one of the *BEST* Valjeans and one of the *BEST* Phantoms. Like Ramin Karimloo, his voice is just this wall of sound that envelops me, grabs me and doesn't let go...I could listen to both him AND Ramin and never get tired of either of them.
O my gosh there all so great, but Lea's voice stand the best her voice is so shining shimmering and clear, she give so much emotion even her face ,she is so definitely the greatest
THE FACT THAT THIS ONLY HAS A MILLION VIEWS FRUSTURATES ME (Also the fact that I only now found it 4 years late), the amount of talent here is astonishing
Love this. Lea stayed in character, the consummate pro. But did anyone else notice that they were seriously off beat about 3:00? It very nearly became a train wreck. Professionals that they all are, including the poor conductor, they kept it going and pulled it together for the finish. It's a reminder of how difficult these massive productions can be, even for an A-list lineup like this who probably had just a single rehearsal. Wonderful, wonderful.
