@@LeNoLi.Can vs consistently actually make those throws are 2 completely different things. For some reason people think reading defences, finding the open man and delivering the ball accurately and on time while evading the best athletes on the planet is easy..when it's not. This is why most talented QBs fail and doing it at one of one of the highest levels in the history of the game (threatening Passer Rating record) for a full season is incredibly impressive no matter who your teammates are. Saying any pro QB can do that is ignorant beyond belief.
@@jaylonjuice Since 2004, I always cringed thinking one bad play would cost us the game, especially late while holding a small lead. Now even when things aren't going well, I feel it will still be okay.
Nonsense. It is his skill, *passing progression* , ever heard of it? Remember Rodgers's last throw against 49ers in playoff? Rodgers is below average on the skill.
@@williamli6200 I don’t understand what you’re trying to say or who you’re responding to. Add some context before your accusation of nonsense. Your accurate statement about Perdy’s accuracy is noted.👍
@12ollin47s Jimmy never played like this, bro. The back shoulders, the layering over linebackers, leading receivers, the accuracy and anticipation. The ability to scramble and extend plays and throwing accurately on the run. Throws the ball away or takes a sack rather than throws a pick. The speed with which he processes defenses. This kid is special. I truly believe we have our franchise guy. We haven't had QB play like this since Young. I think we got lucky like the Patriots did.
and even as you watch, you can tell that his arm is getting much stronger and the deep passes are much more farther and have more "umph" in them. His growth is Crazy!!!
So true! I'm not sure he doesn't see more than the coach sometimes. You can see Kyle in pressers going, 'uh, yeah, I didn't see that coming, but thanks for the TD!'
YES! and . . . the fact he got it from the very beginning is amazing to me. They never took time outs to figure the play out, or got illegal motion or false starts since he took over, not even the very first game against the 'phins.
They aren't watching the games. It's as simple as that They watch ESPN talking head use cherry picked highlights and cherry picked stats and believe every word they say Those talking heads are also deliberately painting a false picture to push their narrative also Take this one for example. "Purdy can't win without his stars" Mahomes missed one game without Kelce and guess what happened? He lost "But Mahomes has won without Kelce before" Ok so Purdy played 3 games without Deebo and lost But guess what? They NEVER mention this but last year Purdy won all three games in which he was missing one of his "stars" 3-0 without Deebo last year
These people just refuse to believe or cannot comphrehand that a final pick in draft can be this good. So it's just convenient for them to say Purdy is in a good system/has good weapons/has Kyle Shanahan etc.
I love his systems for extending plays, leaving the pocket at the right time avoiding sacks an Definately love his System on avoiding sacks an having the NFL's #1 passer rating
@huckfin1598 If you were to give brock Purdy's current season to Aron Rodgers he would 100% win MVP no questions asked. Brock is hated on so much just because he was drafted late. (Also in Pur's worst game ever he had more passing yards than lamar did anyways)
@8%2F-wuw%2Cymuvu%60e%2Ccmm-cjalngl-UAKmiK_md%5DwrIl-FK%5DZhIZ0S No shit sherlock Arod is injured. Also never compare the two again, they are nowhere near on the same level.
This video don’t even show some of my favorite plays. Dude a certified baller. It’s all the talking heads that ain’t watched the film on him saying all the bs. Just watch the film!
@@philmickelsonscalves7585So good. Just from the last game against AZ the play for me was when Purdy had a free blitzer in front of him. He had like a second to react as he passed to Kittle as his hot read. Pass was so accurate that Kittle was able to YAC for even more yards. I actually screamed WOW. Crazy play.
@@thebluemeepleThat play is almost an exact replica that made all Niner fans last season against the Dolphins say "we might actually have something here". Brock has been a baller since day 1.
I liked Jimmy for what he was but he would've been sacked on a majority of those plays. Brock has it all and we are finally blessed with a superstar atQB.
I have no problem believing in John Lynch to figure something out. It’s part of the reason we have kept some key guys already! One of the best GMs we Niners couldve asked for.
When i was 10 went to Guadalajara to visit family in 1992. I was surprised to see so many 9ers fans there and that they actually televised the games. 49ers are Mexico team that's for sure. My half brother in Michaocan is a 9ers fan.
@@lopezrome1982 I am actually from Guadalajara 🏈🙌🏾😅 The 2 favorite teams are the 49ers and the Cowboys. There is a flag football league and each team represent an NFL Team. It’s pretty awesome 👏🏻
That's my noodle arm, too small, dink and dunk, too slow, yac managing, dollar store contract, check down td throwing, system QB right there. #MVPurdy 🎉
We never saw this type of QB play out of Jimmy G. This offense has NEVER looked as good as it does now with Purdy under Center. And since the great Joe Montana left the 49ers in 93’, up until now, Brock Purdy is the only 49ers QB that reminds me of Joe Montana.
@@SD_BRFC1997forreal!! I love Jim, but any fan who has watched both QBs under center every week can see the night and day difference with Brock. Jim had 8 throwing attempts in the damn NFC championship game against GB in the 2019 season 😂😂 Shanny finally has a QB he can trust to rip the ball downfield.
@@BamaProds That's a fucking hilarious statement. Jimmy G didn't do shit for the 49ers go watch the tapes😂😂😂 Batshit Eagles fan coping about how hard he's gonna lose this year 🤣🤣🤣
This system is so easy that any quarterback could layer it over the linebackers with touch and hit the back shoulder fade at the pylon and side arm it down the field under pressure and have a 115 passer rating when blitzed. Piece of cake
Video title is a W. One of the underrated things about Purdy is that he keeps all those receivers fed. And that is not easy to do. It's rare to have that kind of timing with multiple players.
Purdy is the most interesting thing that's happened to the NFL in a long time. He's going to change how everyone scouts talent. He is elite and if he stays healthy will probably break all sorts of NFL records.
How could a guy like this get passed over seven times by every single NFL team but the 49ers, who passed on him six times? All the NFL front office folks, coaches and scouts have centuries of experience combined, and yet none of them though Brock would be anywhere near this good. NO ONE. He was thought of as a third string backup at best. As it turns out, he should have been a top 10 pick.
When he came in for Jimmy, I said that 's a season for them now. Then he threw that hot read to Kittle on a full on blitz and connected. I knew then this kid had the goods. The only question is , can he recognize adjustments after halftime and towards the next game? We know now he can read high level defensive adjustments. The amazing part is his growth after the 8 game season and this years current run. He has stretched the field so much the midfield is his check down. And if they over protect the deep ball, CMC is chewing up 15-20 a carry.
There’s more to it sometimes to be fair, all the teams talk with each other and tend to know what teams are looking for, the 49ers probably had him high on their QB list, but they knew no one else wanted him, might as well let him slip so they can take contested picks, it happens a lot with players that are interesting but have some questions around them.
There were several teams really interested in him including the Dolphins, Cowboys and the Patriots among others. Because of the scouting they all believed he wouldn't be drafted and any of them could have a shot at signing him when the draft was over, especially Miami, since he was a fan. I believe I remember where he said that several teams began calling as the last picks were being made but he didn't talk to any of them. In fact he almost didn't take John Lynch's call but since they had a pick coming up, he did. The Niners had several choices for the last pick and they questioned, "did they want to take a chance on letting him sign with any team or just go ahead and take him now with virtually no risk". They chose well!
So much better than Jimmy Garbaggio lmao. I will never forget Jimmy overthrow in the SB and smiling after Brock got injured. Robbed 50 million from raiders and got benched for a 4th rounder... my hatred for him is insane. Wouldve won a SB with any other Aqb
I am glad that I am not the only one who noticed that Jimmy G was big smiling and laughing it up after Purdy and Johnson went down. I am glad they got rid of him. At best, he was slightly above average for one year, but most of the time was average with a top 3 defense in every year. This year, Niner's defense wasn't nearly as spectacular as they have been in the past, but still in the top 10, I believe.
The thing I really noticed is the Swiss cheese offensive line that Purdy somehow succeeds behind. Almost any other QB would look like David Carr back there with the way those bowling pin OLs roll over every other play.
@@joemiller3553 I really only remember Steve Young as a Kid (born in 86), and have watched nearly every 49er game for 30 years. Purdy is easily the best QB we've had since Young. The throws he can make, how fast he reads the field, and his athleticism. He has Young's legs and Montana's brain
Let's slow that roll. Montana was much sharper a passer. I'm a Purdy fan but Montana's precision and ability to go through his progressions quickly was the best ever. Young was very precise too but here the gap is widest: he was MUCH faster than Purdy. Purdy for MVP but he's not the best of those two guys.
System QB doesn’t complete many passes beyond 20 yards with average protection like Purdy has . The running QBs are system QBs , without a def their lack of passing skill is exposed .
0:27 shows you everything you need to know. Snaps the ball and keeps his eyes downfield, keeps his cool, knows the defender is coming, makes a move and keeps the drive alive. Purdy is kinda fast too
yup cuz hes resetting the narrative that low drafted players are untalented. They should've learned after brady, but the league still views high draft position as the most important thing.
@levislayter the media rode these qbs nuts in order this season mvps as follows. Mahomes,Tua,hurts stroud, dak, and now Lamar. Sheesh this kid gets nothing but hate.
People don't understand the timing and chemistry you need to have with your receivers in order for some of these passes to work and also the line needs to block properly. There's so many things that go into a successful pass play
I absolutely love the attention this video is getting the tape don’t lie Purdy is very special and he deserves his 💐 49ers are in good hands man. Shout out to the content creator you made a banger. I hope it makes a million plus views
Man that systematic allowance of the edge rusher to go uncontested to Purdy is such a well drawn up system play by design. Shannahan is a genius and anyone could play in this system!
I hate doing shit like this but that is some Montana-like accuracy. Dude is just slinging the ball across the field like he's at some park playing a pick-up game.
@@carlosjr8649 I think maybe you missed the point- I’m a big Brock Purdy fan and I am making fun of the people who keep ignoring his accomplishments or don’t give him credit for what he does.
People who call someone a "system qb" as an insult when the coaches system is good are braindead. Is the QB supposed to intentionally handicap himself so he can prove he is not a system QB or should he listen to his fucking coach and be part of the system and use his knowledge of the system? Like telling Mike tyson to win a fight with one hand tied behind his back, why should Tyson handicap himself?
I am so thrilled watching this kid that I get anxious waiting for him to fall. I was never a Brady fan. His attitude always rubbed me wrong. Purdy is on another level.
A. Amazing video title. B. Amazing supercut. C. I fucking love our QB. I’m so excited for the future. Can’t wait to see all the bandwagoners hop on board and order his jersey. 😂
Im a bucs fan and I bandwagoned on purdy at just about before halftime in our game last year. Not many people I know watched that game so they thought I was crazy when I said he was gonna be a surprising qb. I didnt expect this mvp play though
C’mon, if there wasn’t an offensive line or any other players on the field except for him and the defense he’s playing against, I bet he wouldn’t be able to throw touchdown passes. If his teammates all turned around after hiking it and became defenders along with the defense they were playing, Purdy wouldn’t have any shot at MVP.. Total system QB! maC Newton used to hike it to himself, scramble, throw it to himself, catch it, juke like 50 guys and score two touchdowns at once. You don’t allow a tarantula to live on your head unless you’re the greatest QB of all time like maC is, I mean Cam
My favorite part of the "system quarterback" narrative around Purdy is that it immediately outs all the people that don't understand football and as such their takes can be immediately disqualified. If you want to see what an actual system QB looks like, all you would have to do is watch Jimmy G highlights. If you can't see the stark difference between the two of them and the 49ers offense in general, you're either legally blind or willfully ignorant.
