Really like this . Can you do one on Dak during this game ? I need to know if Dak just can’t do it , or if the deal is simply that he never has anyone to throw to
And makes you appreciate the position and how hard it is to play it. You need to see all this real time with a 250lb backer aiming for your head. Purdy's going to have a fine career. Saying it right now, he's our best QB since Young.
It’s two high IQ minds in Kyle and Brock executing and reading the defenses. The fact that they are able to scheme parson out the game and use their speed and anticipation against them shows how sharp and intelligent they are
I am an extreme novice when it comes to understanding the game but I can appreciate the rhythm Brock brings to the plays and it reminds me of what Bill Walsh said about Joe Montana-that he played like an orchestra conductor rhythmically like a dancer
Shanahan's offense has been in place for years now building upon piece by piece, CMC unlocked the run game, Purdy was the final piece and now the 9ers are laying the foundation to continue this masterpiece for years to come.
Actually if you look at last years stats CMC unlocked the passing game as well. if things go well he's going to end up as one of the greatest trades in sports history (maybe the best) and I include ALL SPORTS in that. After one game George Kittle said that CMC was forcing defenses to cover him and that created more 1on1 opportunities downfield. If you look at those 3 or 4 games where Jimmy G started and finished with CMC his passing numbers were significantly improved and his passing numbers were better than Purdy's. It was Purdy's scrambling that made the difference there. I think Jimmy G was unfairly treated by a section of the media and fan base BUT THE FACT is Purdy just suits the Shanahan system better. I think we have lucked out and got the QB who just works in this Offense. Its quite possible Purdy would be a bust in any other offense or team. Its like a race car where the engine, chassis, suspension, brakes and driver just all work as a combined package. Steve Young made this great comment 10 days ago on KNBR about how Purdy is just working out how to make things work. Purdy knows he's not the tallest, fastest or has the biggest arm BUT HE JUST makes it all work anyway. It was really interesting to hear what Steve had to say on that.
@tonywilson4713 but again if the offense is such a great fit and Purdy is nothing but a fit for the system why is he excelling better than Trey or Jimmy at such a young stage? He is better than both of them and will be the starter for a long time to come. He is only 9 games into his career so far and looks like gold.
@@dabair87 Simple - His decision making is consistently better than Jimmy's and a ton better than Trey's. I think it goes back to their college careers. Purdy played 4 full seasons in a conference where he had to develop because in the Big 12 talent isn't enough. Trey had 1 full season of FCS and bits of another 2. Jimmy played 4 years of FCS. Neither had to play big games week after week. Several commentators have said Brock had to learn how to process information and make things better for himself and his team. I agree with those sentiments. This is why he plays like he is 10 years older than Trey and looks better than Jimmy. I like Jimmy but when you compare the highlights for this season You can see Jimmy makes 1 or 2 bad decisions each game. Considering what others are doing with 5 or more bad decisions a game 1 or 2 isn't bad but Purdy isn't making any at all. On top of that NOTHING seems to phase Purdy. Its like all those big games in front of massive crowds being harassed by raging packs of Longhorns, Sooners,.... etc has made his brain resilient to pressure. On top of all that he just fits the Shanahan system like it was purpose written for him. Its like we got a veteran QBs brain in a young body and he's ready to go at the next level. There were people comparing in comments last week to Brady and how he was also just the right fit at the right time for Belichick. We all sort of agreed that if Brady had been in any other team he'd probably have done all right but nowhere near as good. Right now Purdy is our guy but do you think he'd be doing this well in another team???? Do you think if we had Justin Fields we'd be this good or if the Da Bears had Purdy they be doing better?? Remember Cam Newton took over from Brady at the Pats and he sucked in that team and Cam was a gun QB.
Yea I was just tryin to generalize it really no sense in droppin novels on YT unless your uploading but yea congrats faithful our team is looking real nice.
Brock's calmness in the pocket reminds me so much of Joe Montanta. He just trusted in his guys that they would be where they supposed to be and the oline would block who they were supposed to block....we stay heathly...we take it all imo...
Thanks Chase Daniels for these. Great to see a former player looking at tape and dissecting it. Very interesting to see from your eyes being a Pro NFL Qb for so long. Just great content.
Lol you know this is very quickly becoming the go to profession for former back up QBs.😂 they all know us niners fans will click more than any other fan base, win or lose we will want to see this content.
@dabair87 I watch RU-vid videos, there are fans of other teams that react to our games every week and one has literally said he a saints fan but he's a honorary 49ers fan cuz we blew up his channel ... cmon bro don't deny the reality of it. We show up in the 10s of thousands other teams fans do not
I think people underestimate the competitiveness of coaching staffs as well. Cowboys defense has been praised all season, you had to know the offensive staff were super pumped for this game to scheme this kinda offensive performance against not just a top defense, but “America’s Team” top defense in the Cowboys vs Niners rivalry.
Your excitement about the concepts you talk about really make the video. You do an amazing job of taking highly complicated football concepts and communicate them in a way that everyone can understand. Thank you for making these videos, and keep them up!
This team looks unbeatable the way the O line is playing, the amount of play makers, the way plays are getting called and the level that Purdy is playing at. It's going to be TOUGH to beat them.
To add now that I have watched the whole video. I have never seen it the way you do in the sense Purdy already knows where he is throwing and that he will get it cause he knows what they are doing before they do it. Truly amazing.
@Chase Daniel at 3:23 you can actually see JJ #15 the number two receiver run a double move. He fakes the whip, plants hits foot, and runs almost like a wheel up the sideline. I just wanted to point it out because I love how innovative their offensive is.
I know it was before your time but the accuracy and ability to ignore the rush and throw spirals through narrow windows screams Kurt Warner in his prime. Really cool. Thanks Chade. Fight Tiger!
Brocks miss to Aiyuk was because he has great anticipation and timing on plays. Which takes years for most quarterbacks to develop. I played ice hockey growing up and was always taught and yes I know its simple but "Put the pass to where he's going to be not where hes at." Purdy is only going to get better with time but he threw the ball right when Aiyuk hit the 25 yard line before he cut at the 20.
That’s the Wayne-o line. Anticipation is key for hitting objects in motion. The military calls this the ambush technique. Have your projectiles “meet” the moving target in stride.
You can argue system all the time, and you'd have to concede that every good QB is a product of the system. You still have to make throws though, and he's deadly accurate not to mention has the anticipation of a seasoned vet.
Good stuff Chase. I think so many are scared to say Brock is good because they have 80/90’s nightmare of when the last time the Niners had a good QB. Almost 2 decades of terrorizing the NFL with Joe and Steve.
I think all the national media talking heads need to watch these type of ALL22 analysis videos, before they ever open their mouths each week. The view from the couch is only a piece of the puzzle. W content!
Chase, if you read this, you are doing great work. Suggestion: Go talk to JT O'Sullivan [if you haven't already] about the setup he has and what he is doing for his show. Man has made big strides over the years and you also clearly have what it takes on and off camera to make this channel special. I am talking even the little things, like the quality of the tools to draw on screen with multiple bold colors instead of those hair thin yellow lines. So hyped to watch this channel grow sir!
Thanks man, quality breakdowns ... you put names to plays and actions within the plays became part of the bigger picture. Thanks man, I thoroughly enjoyed the work! Please keep it up- TF
I am thankful there are professionals like you Chase Daniel who are able to break down this video. When we see pundits on the television trying to diminish what Brock Purdy is doing, then I can see it for what it really is, just television entertainment.
It’s amazing to me that he’s so aggressive pushing the ball down the field, and yet has so few interceptions in the NFL. He rarely settles for check downs and consistently makes accurate throws into tight windows 15-20 yds downfield.
Chase! You're putting out great content! Concerning Kittle's 3rd TD...Sherm mentioned this morning that this was a wrinkle that runs counter to what Lance intel would have. 6 is anticipating the corner route. Keep up the great work!
Loving these breakdowns, both as a 49er fan and Mizzou alum. Appreciate how easy you make it to understand. Hope you enjoyed the trip back to COMO last week.
A big part that any QB plays within the offense is not only getting your WR open through eye/head movement. But also it allows for your receivers space for YAC and so they don’t get blown up making the catch. Any DB or LB follows the QB’s eyes and reacts. Purdy is doing an awesome job at it, something Dak has yet to pick up.
Great videos man, great breakdown! Love it! So interesting, you make it sound so simple. I've learned more abt covers and routes in 2 of your videos, than in 2 years of watching football related content from other channels.
Great video and breakdowns! I’ll admit I dont know that much about play calls and routes and formations, but u make it interesting, even to a noob like me 😄. Bigtime Brock fan, the guy makes it look so easy. In my few yearw of waching football, maybe about 3 or 4 or so, I havent seen anybody as efficient and effective since Brady. Honestly he makes it look too easy. To a casual footbal fan like me, u can almost miss how goodhe really is
Wow Chase! I didn't know you had a show. This is awesome man. Love these types of breakdowns. It's a good reminder of how much goes into each play of a football game. Great breakdown. Definitely subscribing
Why the left handed drop? Just to seed confusion or is it to facilitate his reads from left to right ,which he can do because his footwork is so great?
Chase, from what i am seeing from your analyst, is it TRUST within himself and the receivers is the key here? After getting reads from motion's and shift from defense he anticipates where the ball and receiver should be and throws to a certain spot.
I dont even really watch football like that much anymore, but your videos have been captivating the hell out of me lately. Nice breakdown! Interesting seeing Brock make noise…. Cough cough go bears
Kyle said Brock missed only one throw Sunday night. And Brock's receiver Aiyuk would tell you he should have caught it, because Aiyuk often does catch it.
When Jimmy G was at QB I was beginning to wonder if there was something wrong with the system that left him exposed and throwing INTs directly to linebackers. The question has been answered now with Brock .... nope, nothing wrong with this system when you can read and anticipate. This is amazing to watch
yes, thank you for the breakdown. it really enhances my appreciation of the game, as I'm not a fan of the MTV close-up view of football that we see during the game. These cameras that take in the whole field are so much more interesting.
Brock seems like he can read defenses well using motions to helps him make pre snap decisions. He also feels like Mr fundamentals working cohesively with his receiving core…effortlessly following target priority and using his awareness to buy the receivers the extra few seconds they might need.
Love the video’s thumbnails and the content. For the one Purdy miss, it would be nice to pause and show the anticipation, for example like how JT O'Sullivan did in his Purdy vs Cowboys analysis video. In my opinion, I think your channel will grow fast and bigger than JT’s, because so many people know you and respect your knowledge.
Those are two different players playing the ILB. On the first Kittle TD it was Bell (S) On the Deebo catch short of the GL it was Clark (LB) and he played it by taking the deepest defender. LVE is supposed to mark Deebo on that play.
It was also impressive because Purdy had to succeed in the passing game. McCaffrey had been spectacular in his running this season and the Cowboys actually did a great job in limiting him: Something like 51 yds and 2.7 yds per carry. So if SF was to beat DAL, they had to do it in the air. It was impressive watching Purdy work and lead the offense considering he hasn't had a full season of starting under his belt yet. I've been a 49ers fan since the 80s and I haven't seen the players excited about their QB in many years. Over the decades I've seen fantastic teams lose their star QB and the offense will still function with the backup, it's not quite the same. Purdy is leading the 49ers offense and can succeed with the pass. In the Shannahan - Lynch era of the 49ers the run has been emphasized so much more because of our QB position. That's not the case since Purdy started. The offense can be run complete with both the run and pass as valid threats. The 49ers haven't had that in many years.
Where are you guys getting this film? Is that the All-22? Referring people to this that have it in their head that Purdy is a dink and dunk QB. I'm not even smart and knew that take makes no sense. Thanks for the breakdown and content man!
The fact that Purdy can read the Defense is the BIG difference. He is doing his homework big time. Trey lance just couldnt read defense or didnt throw it in time, Garapolo could but a lot of missed/overthrown passes but did good. Purdy is doing great, looks calm and poised even with a few misses. Great footwork, arm locked and loaded. If the niners can stay healthy they will go far
Chase, have you ever thought about going into coaching bro? ur experience in this game as a QB would give u a huge thumbs up on that offensive side to many teams. i know there are tons of other qbs out there who possibly could break down films like u can as well but i see u have that "IT" factor that would make a good coach. coach payton, leftwich, and kingsbury were also QBs.
Purdy a very smart qb, even with Kyle plays he knows how to execute those plays, he practices against pass rushes from his own defense which is top 3 in the league so pass rushes don't rattle him I love him for that
According to Shanahan, on the first kittle TD, Kittle was the 1 read. He said on all four touchdowns he hit his 1 read. Edit: not trying to be a troll or anything I just know from watching the post game interview. Big niners fan so I watch them all lol.
I think I could get a similar stats line to Purdy with this team. He made 2 out of 3 throws with a CB within 2 yards of the WR. It's easy to look great when you throw less than 20 times to wide open recievers. He's running the offense well, he's not doing anything special as far as big time throws.
Purdy has had a ridiculously inadequate number of practice snaps with the starting lineup. QB 3s just don’t get many reps and seldom with the 1s. He gets injured and loses all the off-season and a hunk of the preseason. This is a layered offense relying heavily on timing and choice routes. His reps with individual receivers and their nuances is going to enhance the performance of both sides of the equation. We haven’t seen the ceiling yet
