Happy Lovebites Release Day!! Let's check out this new song by Lovebites in honor of the new Album!! . . . I do not own the rights to the music in this video. . . . Original Video: • LOVEBITES / Stand And ...
Lovebites is like the rebirth of everything I loved about metal in the 80's. They have elements of many of the greats, but they definitely have developed a unique Lovebites sound. Thrashy power metal with unbelievable speed and technical ability. And they kick ass.
I was in high school and college from the late 70s thru the early 80s when I discovered and became a huge fan of bands like Motorhead, Judas Priest and especially Iron Maiden. Later came Slayer, Megadeth and Testament. Those bands and music from my youth are absolutely the reason I am a huge fan of Lovebites. I received the CD/Blu-Ray of Judgement Day yesterday and it is absolutely fantastic. Once again a Lovebites album with no filler songs. A 9/10 album for me immediately and might become a 10/10 over time. Stand and Deliver is special because it is the first, and so far only, song with the music cowritten by Miyako and Asami (all the lyrics on the album were written by Asami). I hope we get many more cowritten by them in the future. The 3 Miyako solo songs are typical Miyako greatness but the star of the album has to be Asami. Besides her vocals and lyrics, she was involved in the writing of We Are The Resurrection, Judgement Day, Stand And Deliver and Dissonance. Amazing. Now it is time for Fami to dip her toe into Lovebites songwriting.
Iron Maiden, helloween, megadeth, testament, judas, metallica, mercyful fate, and many more are the bands of my youth. how can you not like Lovebites? Moreover they make to my ear better music than the bands I just named.
Every musician is a product of the musicians who influenced them, especially in their formative years. What differentiates them is that some musicians only imitate their influences while great musicians take all their varied influences and mould them into something unique to themselves. The members of Lovebites have many influences but the sound they produce is uniquely "Lovebites": and immediately recognisable as such..
Miyako plays all the instruments and does most of the composing. She wrote this song and Asami wrote the lyrics. Fami is just unbelievably talented at 20!!!!
They did a live studio concert called the awaken, there they also played in their regular stylish clothes. It’s just them chilling in the studio dressed casual and comfy.
I like the song, and have already listened to the whole album on Spotify 🤣. These ladies are great. New bassist has been a great addition. Drummer always impresses me. From timing to just overall.. clean sounds. She knows what she's doing and does it well. First time I heard love bites a couple years ago I thought.. iron maiden? Slayer?.. wait.. 😂 they draw inspiration from a lot of sources . I love it.
The opening bass line is as Motorhead as I've ever heard. I agree with the other references. This song is a blast, and the video is a blast. I've loved metal since 1971. They blend so many influences/bands and blend it into Lovebites Metal. The instrument swap was for fun. But, Fami can play all the instruments and sing, and Miyako and play bass and drums, and Asami can play piano. This is a relaxed in studio version, and as such, just like the Live from Abyss live stream from back in 2017, they wore street clothes. This is the first music video where they wore no white.
They have a concert in March, I'm going out on a limb and say this is a rehearsal session, so they are in this more casual clothing. In Japan, though, even when you are just going down the street to pick up some groceries, people still make sure they are dressed appropriately for an "outing."
I have just finished watching the documentary and 3 individual songs Fami did with them during the final selection period and the full brave hearted as Fami's first mv with the group!! This is better than I had imagined!! Don't worry about the outfits they will be back in white on stage 😉😎 Ps its time to stop comparing them with other groups, time to move on I think 🤟
Bassist Miho who started this band Lovebites her idol was Steve Harris bassist for Iron Maiden and Co-Founder Drummer Haruna was inspired by Helloween.
I think that is the reason that These women have such a huge following from us older rockers. They draw on so many influences from the bands we all grew up with. All the way from back in the 70's. It registers with our musical psyche. The younger generation? Well, they just love good music when they hear it.
Miyako plays piano, guitar, cello, drums, bass, and sings. She plays the bass on this tune. It was tracked before Family came on board. The drums are outstanding! Fantastic vocals, amazing singer. Pure metal -no foolin' around. Talent on loan from God.
What if we stopped comparing them to other bands? Given what they have been showing for almost 7 years, it is they who must serve as a point of reference. They are so above anything that has been done in metal. And at 71 I have some experience, believe me. I'm not disparaging any other band but these young women are at a level that no band has ever reached.
No band has ever reached? I'm sure the bands they idolized like Iron Maiden, Metallica, and Slayer disagree. The girls are amazing, but let's stay in reality.
In terms of musicianship, Lovebites are collectively more talented than any of those classic metal bands. But those classic metal bands achieved something that Lovebites hasn't (yet?), and that is world wide fame and a massive international fan base. I can't help but wonder if Lovebites had appeared 30 years earlier, how big would they have become.
What you want to bet they will be back in uniform for concerts, the dressed casual look in videos are always shot during studio time practice. With a peek under hood ☠️🎸🔥
This is pretty much straight Motorhead ... if Lemmy could sing and Motorhead had five-part harmonies, lol! But, yeah, I can see the other influences you mentioned as well, albeit to a lesser degree. Iron Maiden and Helloween are who they cite as their major influences as a band (though individual members cite several more, including Ritchie Blackmore, Gary Moore, Metallica, Angra, Kiko Loureiro, Nuno Bettencourt, Judas Priest and more). They still wear the white-and-gold outfits for live stage performances, but they don't always wear them for in-studio videos like this one, or for live streams (they wore regular clothes for the Back from Abyss live-stream concert in 2020 also - that's the one their cover of Helloween's "Eagle Fly Free" comes from).
Video of their jamming/practise session for the coming concert/live. I love to see them in casual dress and enjoy, having fun while practise. Thanks guys👍👍🤘🤘
Having just finding out that FAMI has never played in front of a live audience before it is hard to imagine what that would be like? 20 years old joining arguably the best live metal band in the world today is mind blowing! Hope the members give her the support she might need.
Have grown up with the different metal genres of the eighties. And once again, the ladies show that they have listened to their parents' generation of heavy metal, with the release of this album. More reminiscent of Motörhead, with the old dirty guitar riffs that Fast" Eddie Clarke got out of his amp. Lemmy Kilmister,Phil "Philthy Animal" Taylor and Fast" Eddie Clarke from Motörhead.R.I.P They have not lived in vain. The younger generation has taken over🤘
If you like thrash music by Lovebites you should listen to song The Awakening/ The Hammer of Wrath Live you will love it, keep up the good work on the reaction Lovebites are my favourite band shout to the Wolfpack 🤘🐺
Awesome you did the reaction! Love all the 80s metal bands you mentioned and definitely heard some Motorhead, almost some punk in there! I don't think Haruna (drummer) can play bass but I wouldn't put it past Miyako to be a formidable drummer, she's a F virtuoso, wait till you see what she can do. The new album is fast AF, would definitely make the last song Soldier Stands Solitarily a reaction video. Song is F epic and Haruna on drums / cymbals...OMG. 🤘🐺
About outfit....KISS wore the same clothes on stage and in life? Because I follow them if you see how they dress you won't believe they're in metal band....like here........
Dio, Rainbow, Deep Purple, Thin Lizzy, Metallica, Slayer, Anthrax, Megadeth, Flotsam &jetsam, Aerosmith, Extreme, Iron Maiden, Judas Priest, Manowar, Testament, Helloween, Udo, Accept... That's a small sample of the bands I've listened to since I was young. Now, at 50+ years old, I listen to Lovebites, Nemophila, Avatar, Alien Weaponry, Unleash the archers, Black Star Riders, Symphony X, Grand Magus.. and many more. The inspiration to these women: Angra, Metallica, Pantera, Extreme, Helloween (Haruna) , Iron Maiden, Queen.. and Halestorm (Asami) ! You can see (and react to) a japanese tv show (Rock Fujiyama) where Midori and Miyako talked with Marty Friedman (ex.Megadeth) about their guitar idols.. - MIdori ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-PjJioJ0C-U4.html - Miyako ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-8z2f3NHdDDE.html Continue with reactions to great music like this.. Good job.
Fami can play guitar and Miyako can play bass (she laid down parts prior to Fami joining so they just needed refining). It looks as though Miyako is able to play drums, though not at Haruna levels of course. As she composes much of the music she can probably pick up anything and make music from it given some time. Everybody can play keyboards to some degree.
Actually, they have lots of videos in comfortable clothes. They had a place they called, the abyss, where they rehearsed. And from those rehearsals they made movies. Quite good movies with decent sound and decent video. And loads of fun songs.
Great review of a great song. As for their clothes there is one concert they did in regular attire. Awakening From Abyss was something they did since they could not get out due to Covid and they are wearing regular clothes. In that show they did a cover of Eagle Fly Free from Helloween and you get to see Miho and Haruna with rare solos ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-To21HILZvYE.html&start_radio=1
💥Haruna 4:39 ......... At the concerts, a lady in white dresses, in a studio in casual clothes. For the 2023 concert tour, the new white dresses, which were presented in the "Judgement Day" MV, were sewn. As far as I know Haruna (drums) also plays piano and keyboards. Midori (blonde, guitar) also plays the piano , keyboards, bass guitar. Miyako (brunette, guitar) plays piano, keyboards, bass guitar, drums. Asami (lead vocals) plays the piano. Fami (bass) also plays piano, keyboards, guitar. Thanks for the reaction!
@@cepho8349 You remember everything correctly. Electric organ = Keyboards Jon Lord, Ken Hensley - were called keyboardists, played Hammond organs. Jon Lord's famous organ
With so much keyboard talent, you'd think the goddesses would be able to create their own keyboard backing tracks w/o relying on Mao (former lightbringer keyboardist and 6th "member"). Perhaps they are already doing that. If Midori played pipe organ, a musical instrument which has been around for centuries, she could claim to play the world's earliest heavy metal music.
I'm sure this is them just rehearsing for the forthcoming tour. I believe they just have announced a few gigs in Japan, but from what i've seen: They are very welcome, especially in Europe where they started touring. 100% sure that US will be added.
Some people get butt-hurt if you say this, but Lovebites do classic-era thrash better than the bands that invented it. Not a knock on those bands. Cars, medicine, science and just about everything else improve over time. Lovebites always make a point of acknowledging their influences, but the students have surpassed the teachers at this point.
Your references to American band influences ie Megadeth, Slayer etc are valid but you do have to recognise that the original influences are undoubtedly Motorhead, Iron Maiden(I know you mentioned Maiden), Judas Priest, Saxon and other Metal bands, who've been around since the 70's! I'm seriously not trying to be controversial or negative - but there are other bands outside of the US. 😊
Them exchanging instruments and trying to play them was just them goofing off. Where they were playing is a practice studio I think. Also, those are not there new costumes.
I imagine this video is a composite taken over a couple of days of them rehearsing as you can see the clothes change a some points. Good to see them goofing around with each others instruments.
Amazing song! The whole new album is epic! They all can play piano, Miyako can play all the instruments in the band, new bass player Fami can also play rhytym guitar and piano!
It was a M/V that used studio session/s for the performances and so there is no need to wear stage wardrobe. Just wear comfortable stuff out of the closet. The switching instruments is just for fun!
I think both of their guitarists can literally play anything they want... crazy skills... and their new bassist Fami too is completely next level, and their drummer is insane and is so relaxed looking when she plays...not to mention the incredible vocalist... best thrash-prog metal band around
Most reactors tend to say they sound like one of the big four of thrash or one of the bay area bands. To my ears they sound more like The Haunted or The Crown.
They have covered Helloween and Judas Priest. And The Crusade is their Iron Maiden homage. This video was done at rehearsal they are otherwise still doing the white dresses. They were mostly farting around swapping instruments though Miyako can play the drums. Marty Friedman formerly of Megadeth has said he was inspired by Japanese enka music so this song sounding like Megadeth is like coming full circle.
Answering the question, Asami, Midori, Fami and ofcourse Miyako can play piano, Miyako also can play a little of bass and drums, Fami can play guitar too, so I think they can't switch up all instruments but maybe one or another.
You should do Soldier Stands Solitarily ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-kxtOtFyuzpU.html. It's audio track only and last of the album. You would think it's humanly impossible to play, good grief. 4' 9" Haruna on drums...just not possible. Good GOD.
They switched roles and instruments just to goof off and have fun. Although Miyako can play the basics on drums and bass. I think they just wanted to have fun and shoot a video in casual clothing.
It`s just studio they will be back in white on tour. Miyako could probably play all the instruments Asami and Midori, Haruna, can all play piano. Fami can play guitar as well as bass on her videos she might be able to play piano not sure.
If you like the old school metal you should listen to Lovebites cover of Judas priest painkiller & lovebites cover of Halloween eagles fly free & lovebites cover of Halestorm lovebites so do I you will love it
I wanted to leave a comment for a band suggestion you should make a reaction video for next. after I saw some of the shows on your channel, it seems you also need to get to know them. they are Voice of Baceprot, a three-member heavy metal rock band from Indonesia. they have already made their trip for shows in europe 2 times in 2021 and 2022 and performed at wacken open air. I recommend you react to their singles like, God Allow me please to play music, School Revolution, Not public Property, and PMS (Perempuan Merdeka Seutuhnya or Women are completely free in English). or you can also react to the songs they have cover like enter sandman, sabotage, or got the time. You can also watch them live like when they appear at the Rennes, Wacken, or Pasiwali festivals. I hope my recommendations reach you and you can make reaction videos about them in the future. Regards.. 🤘
this is the only MV not in white they can all play piano Fami plays guitar and bass Miyako plays guitar bass and a little drumsthey were just clowning around with the instruments Asami couldn't even reach Miyako's mic street clothes for their practice spaace they'll be back in white for the tour the album rocks
The constant reference to gets old fast. I don’t think they’re listening to any of the bands you mentioned in the way you’re implying. Miyako has musical roots that go way back beyond to the classical composers of hundreds of years back. Do you really think they’re pulling from something that Dave Mustaine wrote in a drug fueled haze or something before? It gets really old. Yes, two guitars might reminisce Judas Priest or Maiden, but then again both those bands pulled from Wishbone Ash and the early Scorpions or whoever you care to dig up. Listen and find their creativity. The gang vocal verse and the many part harmony chorus are NOTHING like Megadeth or Priest or Maiden. If you want influences the intro was more Motorhead than anything Megadeth, as is the verse guitar riff. But enough - find their originality or don’t bother.
🤘I think "Soldier Stands Solitarily" needs to be saved for a reaction from you guys. You guys will like that one ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-kxtOtFyuzpU.html
Thank you for following LOVEBITES at all times. Please keep up the good work LOVEBITES. 【From an interview with Asami and Fami for a magazine project】 Asami wanted to use the sound of "river" in the lyrics, but thought it would be strange to use "river" as the chorus. Asami found "deliver" and thought it would be cool if everyone shouted it out instead of just telling what the word means. For many Japanese, pronouncing and hearing the English "r" and "l" is difficult. From there, Asami arrived at "stand and deliver. "Stand and deliver" is a pirate term that apparently means "Leave all your money!" Asami thought that if he wrote the lyrics as they were, it would be a song about a "pirate king. Asami wanted to avoid that. Asami learned that "deliver" can also mean "to carry out" or "to be free" in addition to "to deliver. Asami uses "Stand and deliver" with the following interpretation and meaning. Stand up and be free! Rise up and be free! Arise and be free! Let's get up and be free! From there, Asami put the following thoughts into the lyrics. Nothing satisfies me. It's boring to be like this every day! Let's go more bouncy! Let's be bold and do something different! Let's break out of our shell! P.S. The mic stand setting that Miyako used was too high for Asami.
In the Awake Again Live from Abyss, a studio livestream they also wore 'street clothes', so I imagine it has more to do with being in the studio than anything else.
At Awake Again, the clothes are not street and not usually, they are selected by stylist in the hair color of each performer. This is done for visual effect. At Lovebites there is nothing accidental, ill-conceived not only in music. By the way, the video on Awake Again is just great, made in the same style as the Judgement Day music video. In general, it seems to be blurry, but in places the sharpness is very good, every hair and the structure of the fabric of clothing is visible. It seems that the girls are glowing. This is not noticeable in the video from YT. You need blu-ray quality to appreciate all the skills of video engineers.
