For some people, the accessibility (or lack thereof!) of a hobby can be part of the allure. It's just human nature. I saw it in the fanfic and fan art spheres with writers and artists dropping out or withdrawing into tighter circles as AI content suddenly flooded some sites. At least AI writing and some image generation is still at the threshold of being indistinguishable from human writers. This music AI however... It's going to be near indistinguishable in some genres, especially if the lyrics are up to par. Personally, I'd encourage them to hold on to what makes them happy, but again, if part of that joy comes from their progression being seen, the motivation might not be there if they get lost in a sea of AI content.
