The gate signals that the Beatstep sends out to trigger analog synths is the same type of gate that pulses to sync other drumachines & sequencers. With that in mind I wanted to send the Volca Beats some more "rhythmic" gate signals. Here are the results. Enjoy!

I'm thinking of buying an Arturia Beatstep Pro to go with my Volca Bass/Beats/Keys. I love the sound of the Volca Bass but the 1bar sequencer and absence of internal swing makes it difficult to make the sort of music I want to make (G-funk style hip hop). Do you have any examples of sequencing the Volcas from the ABP? Could I control/sequence all 3 Volcas from the ABP? Can I sequence/arrange Volca basslines/beats of 2-4 bars from the ABP? BTW, very interesting video. Thanks.

+Dino Goldie I have never owned the Beatstep Pro (though I have lusted for it), so i can't give you any experienced answers, but you should be able to sequence at least two Melody based Volcas with it. It can do lots of other stuff too, so if you don't have a studio busting with gear, then it could be a very powerful piece for what you already have and the gear you will inevitably buy in the future. Welcome to the addition.

Love it! Could I sync up a Moog Werkstatt, Volca Keys and PO-12 with the Beatstep in some way or other ? Is that possible?

do you have any idea if the Volcas can receive the sync information and the MIDI information at the same time?

Really nice !!! But I can't understand something, help me plz ! The beatstep has cv/gate in, so if u want to sync with other analog equipment (not to use as controller but only as sync interface) you should plug volca sync into gate of beatstep (asuming that master tempo comes from pc). That is right, should work?

Juan ch The Beatstep only hasCV/Gate OUT. There is no CV/Gate in. I think that should solve your problem.

yep. just set em up in the midi control center 36 - C2 - Kick 38 - D2 - Snare 43 - G2 - Lo Tom 50 - D3 - Hi Tom 42 - F#2 - Closed Hat 46 - A#2 - Open Hat 39 - D#2 - Clap 75 - D#5 - Claves 67 - G4 - Agogo 49 - C#3 - Crash

***** Yes I am! The Beatstep and the upcoming Beatstep Pro are not just DAW controllers, but work as stand alone midi and analog sequencers with many other features. No computer needed.

Thanks for the reply and the conformation.I'm sure the only use of the computer is to connect to the software initially to set up scales and Mackie protocols, after that its like you said good to go and stand alone.
