It does have something to do with your lightsaber because the colors green, blue, purple, and yellow are force intended kber crystal and because Kyber crystals are supposed to be used for the light side. The sith use red because they use the force to make the crystal bleed and turn the crystal to the dark side. Therefore turning it red
Omar Asker yea if your a sixth lord your my bet crystal will be corrupted with hate and anger to make it red. But if your a Jedi green if for more of the use of force, and blue is for more aggressive, and purple is for mixed. The force and being able to control your hate in anger into battle instead of all the time.
Purple is just a really rare crystal you can find natural red kiber crystals but there even rarer most red lightsabers are 2 different versions one is a synthetic type when the Jedi controlled the kyber planets dark side users could not get crystal witch brings me to number two bleeding the crystal there are a form of life and when they bleed the are red to make this happen it takes a connection to the dark side
