BROKEN PS5 (UPDATE) SONY SENT ME A BRAND NEW PS5....OR DID THEY?

I called Sony Playstation customer support and spoke to someone who told me that I had to ship my old defective PS5 back to SONY for repair using a pre-paid shipping label & box that was provided for me by SONY. It took less than 1 week to receive my new system (5 days exactly). This is is a video demonstrating my new working PS5. But it was not repaired, it was simply replaced because the serial numbers don't match. Spiderman Miles Morales & Astro's Playroom no longer freeze. The question now is, how long will this system last? Will there be any freezes in the near future? That remains to be seen.

Glad to see ur system is working well. I sent mine like last week, and the email they sent said they received it 7/26/21, my problem was with the disc drive, it would not eject the disc. i really hope it arrives tomorrow, witch will be 5 days.

I just got my PS5 replacement today from Sony Australia and was surprised it came with official PS5 box with all the cables and accessories (power cable, HDMI, usb cable, user guide and even the base sans screw) but of course without controller and it also has different Serial Number as well. But not sure if it’s brand new or refurbished console. I was surprised because I only send just the console on an ordinary brown box for return. amazing customer support from Sony Australia! Happy customer here!!!

@@madecity cheers your videos really helped me out, i had my ps5 for a few months before it stopped working, i managed to play astros playroom , ac valhalla , rift apart and 3/4 of horizon forbidden west so am very excited to get back into and finish forbidden west when i get mine back hopefully a replacement and not a repair!

I was having the same error code, except my system would freeze and make this loud demon screeching noise. *Update*- I went to Sony’s website and downloaded the Ps5 Software reinstallation file onto a USB and hard reset the system and it’s software. Since downloading it on my ps5 my system has not done this again!! It’s not a hardware issue, it’s a software problem.

I'm sending mine tonight, it's the disk drive that stopped taking disks for me, I hope it's a better unit and just as quiet, because my unit was very quiet already, also be patient for the repair process, they say it can take up to 21 days, so don't be worried if it takes more than a week or two

Awesome! I had the exact same issue! My ps5 kept freezing every time I loaded miles morales! Seems like it’s a common fault. The technician I spoke to over the phone says they have had a lot of calls with the same issues.Received my replacement unit from Sony yesterday! Works properly now :-)

@@doraemontv6069 it’s a new unit, they give a document with it to say it was replaced instead of repaired and give 3 months extra warranty . I’ve had no issues with it since :)

So my PS5 has been fine until today, the fan started making some noise louder then usual. What worries me the most is i can smell burnt coming from the back of the vents. I noticed that when i hop on a game it lags! Imma contact Sony tomorrow and hopefully they can either fix or send me a new one.

I forget where the small facility is but there is a place that looks to be a repair service warehouse building . They send out a new console to you and usually send you a box to return your unit .

I would of known right away if it was brand new or what ever is just from the glossy plastic alone as soon as you wipe it down it’s permanently scratched so I’d just look for that and judging by yours it’s not had any oily fingers all over it and it looks to be super shiny.

@@jeremypr It's really difficult to say....could be anyone's guess....but the console has been out for less than a month. I doubt they have refurbished units already stock piled somewhere. I am happy my games work 100% now without any issues. Good luck dude and keep us updated!

the youtube app works for me with no problems and I tried rest mode with a disk inside the console. Everything is 👌👌👌 so far

@@madecity thanks for messaging back, just on mine on some of the RU-vid videos there are a few white pixilated with a strange green pixilated graphics popping up randomly, but its not all the time, games play fine, prime movie's are ok, just does it now and again the worst channel is sky news, any idea what this could be?

Wow! 5 days only to get it back? That's awesome man! I'm thinking of doing it myself. Mine has a drive glitch or software glitch when installing a game it just sticks at 87% I've tried everything almost.. it seems when you turn off the online connection it installs fine and then you can turn it back on once you're done, I'm not sure it give me the code CE-10005-6. I've been reading it's a software glitch as lots of people have it. Maybe the update? All my other games install just fine while online. I have a EB Games warranty and they told me when I bought it that I can just bring it back to swap it up if anything is wrong with it.. the question is, will they have any? Lol.

My PS5 is going back this week. It has a faulty disc drive. The drive makes a loud clicking sound and won’t eject Blu-ray Discs if the console is upright. It will eject them if the console is horizontal. Sony states they will repair, replace with new a console or with a factory refurbished console. I hope I get new console since that’s what I bought four weeks ago.

I’m getting a box send home too hopefully it doesn’t take that long to get it fixed or replaced I was playing far cry 6 and it was crashing all the time and then had artifact’s on the screen and at the boot up screen I had white lines on the screen wish me luck 🤣.

I'm waiting for my box to ship it to sony. I was getting alot of artifacting and crashing especially on ps4 games. I imagine I'll also get a new console but like you I'm worried I'll have to go through this again because I only had mine for 6 days before it started acting up. I've spent more time being frustrated with this console than I have enjoying it. I just want a working console. I doubt I'll get that unlucky twice, right?

the official instructions mention that you are to only ship the console along with a copy of your receipt and the filled out form they provide to you.....that's it.

Just fill out the form that they send you and include it with the system you are sending back. You put everything in the empty box that they send you.

Good stuff I've been hearing Sony is doing great with giving replacements I haven't heard of one case of them not being brand new so yeah looks like they are legit just replacing the units which is amazing and I love that and people are saying they are fixing them quickly now that could be 2 weeks to a month but that is still relatively quick with repairs through companies like bhai with this many consoles and this much demand

I'm not 100% convinced that they are sending out brand new never before used consoles. One thing I know for a fact is that when you send in your system for repair, they send you a different one back. Whether it's used or new is anyone's guess.

i sometimes get a green screen on start and have to restart it can hear console in back after it restarts its fine had it twice since i got it on nov 14th dont know if i want to send it back beacause it could get fixed in update also got a more noisy one

The whole noisy ps5 is a myth in my opinion, I wouldn't sweat it. Only. thing that matters for me is that they games play and that there is no freezing.

I'm pretty happy with mine. It's only frozen twice since I got it back in November, but I think the reason for that is because I leave it on every night in rest mode to charge my controller. Also, the fan that's inside my PS5 is not the original PS5 fan like they show you in the breakdown video, nonetheless it is very quiet and i'm overall very happy.

I would call them up and send it in for repair/replacement ASAP because the longer you wait the more ppl will be sending it in, meaning your turnaround time might take weeks

Turn your ps5 off when you are not using it and download all updates .yes sometimes it's the disc not the system. Most you got first gen.i got mine in December so it only 4 months old

Sony repair said it will take 4 or 5 working days to complete the repair. Did that mean its coming within 5 days or they fix within 5 days? UK repair centre

you don't have to reset it but don't expect to get the same console back. They sent me a new one and I backed up all of my data before sending it back

Are you sure its new and not refurbished? I’ve been hearing some stuf about sony replacing console with refurbished once. One way that you can tell is if the console doesn’t do the animations when you turn it on for the first time.

All consoles do the animation in the beginning. There is no way of knowing your console is refurbished.

@@madecity thanks. I got a Walmart warranty on mine for extra $58 for 3 years. Hoping mines fine. So far nothing bad. Game crashed (Spider-Man) when I first got it twice but not no more. If I get new system from Sony I’m sure it wouldn’t be under warranty with Walmart

Yeah I bought my dad a PS5 and it would freeze on games right away on just the opening screen got it from Walmart this week gotta send it out to sony they are shipping me a box right now to send it out. We would try like 4 different games and playroom would always freeze right as it says “playroom” and just go black so unfortunate but it will be replaced
