Broken RV Leaf Spring 

You should recommend American made leaf springs made with American spring steel. Only place to get American trailer springs, Alcan Springs in Grand Junction Co. Never break a spring again!

I took my wheel off. Made things much easier. I had a jack stand on both ends of the camper and put a jack stand under the axel to take the weight off the spring. Having direct access to all the bolts made things much easier.

I changed my leaf springs the same way as you did, keep the wheels on, its safer!

Good Video! This is exactly why I carry 2 spare leaf springs, bolts, shackles and 3 jacks with me when we roll in our RV. Imagine being out in the middle of nowhere and having one of these leaf springs break. You would be screwed. Again, good video!!

I hope you checked your shackles and main frame for cracks . When backing in a camp site or even driving the road with Tandem axles or triples axle when making turns on pavement you are putting one hell of a stress on your frame , shackles and springs . Just have the wife video the tire scrub and warping of wheel/tires . You will see one tire leaning one way and the one behind it leaning the other . That same force is twisting your I beam that the Axles attach to. You may see rusty lines about an inch above the I beams bottom flange on the web. Its a crack! They will appear mostly at the cross brace that keeps you I beams straight up and aligned . Also on your 5th wheel breaks where the lower cargo hold and the raised bed or gooseneck occurs as well as the pin box area. Keep it light . Make wide turns .

It begs to consider: as common as this is, why not build a better system? Instead of continuing with this cheap system that breaks down OFTEN.
