Man I just bought this mechanism upgrade for my pathos laser roller carbon 100, and I’m hoping it just fits perfectly, I don’t want to grind away my handle for the line release … that tiny pin has been a pain! I use 250lb fishing mono because of it .
I am looking to get my first roller gun, I have been spearfishing for 3 years now and mainly used 100cm and 110cm rail guns, my rail guns are nearly exactly the same length as coming from different companies, Beuchat and Cressi. Would you recommend this snipper roller? What's the 85 roller shooting range? Our vis here is very poor between 1.5m at worst to 8m at best, and I mainly just do shore diving and only had yellow tails in summer season. thanks in advance.
Thanks for the info! From what I gather you want a speargun that has enough punch for the possible Yellowtail and maneuverability when in poor visibility. This speargun is absolutely an option because of the size and more importantly the ability to adjust your pretension on the Pathos Roller system. I personally think the Pathos rollers are not that great as they are not smooth compared to other bearing equipped rollers. I am unsure on what your budget is but if you are considering the Pathos Sniper Roller, here are some other options: 1. Meandros B32 (recommended size 90+) 2. Riffe Euro (recommended size 90+) 3. Pathos Laser Open Carbon (recommended size 90+) My 85 roller shoots about 15ft or so but the affective range is probably around the 9-10ft I would guess.
I travel with my guns overseas quite a bit and if one went out there wouldn’t really be a way to fix it. I’m all about the meandros mechs. I think they are almost bullet proof, because I was considering pathos too but I like the meandros mechs better.
How did you remove the actual handle from the aluminum pipe of the gun? Looks like there is some glue or residue, or is that just old water that dried in there?
I took the speargun to my local shop to take it apart but from what I saw they simply unscrewed the two screws at the base of the pipe then pushed the handle out. Glue like substance you saw was foam that the previous owner had filled the pipe with.
@@divespeareat I only needed the Dremmel for eating away a space where the new line release nut bolt sits down in the handle , the file did most of it and a little sandpaper that clean it up , cheers your vid was the only reference I had !! 👌
