Watch me do a 12.6 km bicycle ride in Colombo, the capital of Sri Lanka, a city that is quite suitable for bicycling (flat, breezy and good road conditions), but the traffic is intense.
I packed my folding Brompton bicycle in my suitcase, so the video starts with a time-lapse of me unpacking the 25-kg suitcase (bike + clothing for 5 days), very handy way to travel :-)
The bicycle ride starts in Colombo district 03, heads out to the coast line, then up to the famous Galle Face Hotel and onwards to the interesting Pettah market, past the impressive Jami Ul-Alfar Mosque and past the Old Colombo Fort Clock Tower (29 meters), which used to be the tallest building in Colombo. This has certainly changed now!
Enjoy the ride!
GREGERS
PS. The video is filmed with a GoPro Hero 4 mounted on a stabilizer gimbal on a chest strap. The measurements are done with a Garmin Edge 520 and a PowerPod for the power measurements. However, both the speed and power measurements looks a bit funny at times. The software used to overlay the instrument dashboard on the video is called Virb Edit
