Forget the stats, Bronny should be playing as if he is fighting for a slot in an NBA team. He could have made those adjustments in-game! He is just too comfortable out there!

I like this video and I think I learnt something new because it's one of your first videos where you talk about someone who's struggling. Usually you talk about what players do well (like in your videos about Risacher or Holiday), but there's actually a lot to learn from this "Bronny" situations, because everyone definitely had those moments. So this could have given you the idea for other videos!

Can you make a detailed video about 'dribble at'. Its kinda confusing cuz people say when you are 'dribbled at' you should cut when they overplay/deny you, then DHO when theyre not. But i see players just cut when theyre 'dribbled at' coming off of PnR even when theyre not being overplayed/denied

the simple analysis is he’s not good enough. forget the shooting. he doesn’t hustle, has no feel for the game, and looks like a deer in headlights. i can’t wait for lbj to throw a tantrum when bronny is g league bench.
@annp322

He’s not that bad, and I think he will eventually have a decent NBA career. But he has some (a lot) of issues that would probably have been better to get sorted out by playing a couple more years with college coaching and competition.

No joke.. Bronny is the worst player to ever be drafted and given a guaranteed contract.. It's not even close. This guy is awful at literally everything. On top of all of that he's been caught multiple times not even putting in effort and looking like a deer in the headlights.

@AG_396 2 месяца назад
So any shooter regularly hitting the rim just needs more repetitions? Buahahaha
@TheFilmRoom1
@TheFilmRoom1 2 месяца назад
It’s more so about him not missing left and right. There’s a significant difference between missing long & short vs left and right. But yes, anyone who putting in hundreds of thousands of reps that has good mechanics will get better.
@AG_396
@AG_396 2 месяца назад
@@TheFilmRoom1 Ok since you added "(who) has good mechanics", that means a lot. To adjust the long-short precision also deals with many many details (arching, spin and consequently positioning of fingers, hands, arms, shoulders, feet, use of the legs etc..). So your sentence as it is in the video remains very controversial and kinda too "delicate" towards the Bronny's mediocre shooting performance.
@TheFilmRoom1
@TheFilmRoom1 2 месяца назад
@@AG_396 I’d be curious what level of basketball you played/coached at. For anyone to essentially say he’s trash and will never be a good shooter at that level because he missed his first 15 attempts at a level he’s never played at is an overstep in my opinion. I’m not saying he’s gonna be a 40%+ shooter, but I am contending that people who know basketball can tell when a dude can shoot by his shot & Bronny’s mechanics are sound enough that with time, reps, and experience he is going to improve. And only time will tell who good he becomes.
@AG_396
@AG_396 2 месяца назад
@@TheFilmRoom1You keep adding details and specifics to make your otherwhise controversial sentence more reasonable. Please go on. Since you asked, probably trying to deligit me, I had decent foundamentals who brought me to receive money to play for a few years in minor leagues in EU, and, while growing, I met many self-proclamed sharp shooters often hitting the rim due to many different mistakes and defects, that are very hard to eliminate. On the contrary I met only a few true consistent shooters. Repetion is not enough, and a few inches of systematic imprecision contain much more elements than a simple lack of repetitions. We'll see for the young James, but all this "his numbers are bad, but the potential is clearly there" is getting too far and is not very honest.

There is some things you can teach and some things you have to be in you. Bronny had the best coaches and ex nba players tutored him. He doesn’t seem interested and it shows.
@Shingo_Aoi
@Shingo_Aoi 2 месяца назад
What do you suggest to do in a situation like the one you describe at 6:02, when defense starts letting you shoot? I think that if somebody is in a slump, but knows that he usually make that shot (an open 3 probably), he should take it without hesitating even if he missed a lot previously. But even if somebody doesn't want to shoot every time, I think it's also important to not start overthinking.
@TheFilmRoom1
@TheFilmRoom1 2 месяца назад
That’s a great question! Time, score, and rhythm of the game play a big factor in that decision. If you’ve missed 3,4,5 shots in a row, I think it’s a good idea to pass that shot up to try and get a better shot in the possession. If you’re in a slump, and it’s early in the possession - same idea. Work to get a better shot on that trip down the court, but like you said eventually you’re going to need to shoot it. So if you’ve decided you need to shoot & you know the defense is closing out short - make the firm commitment to shoot it without hesitation or regret. Which is what Bronny has started to do, and it’s compounded the issue.
@Shingo_Aoi
@Shingo_Aoi 2 месяца назад
@@TheFilmRoom1 mmh, I see that probably one should be more cautious when in a slump. But as you also said not being hesitant is key whatever ones does.

Needs time to develop tbh it’s like as if he was rushed to play in the League he should play G League first and build some experience there then after a year or 2 play in NBA after improvement is seen but what I’ve seen from this video is that he does indeed is making very bad shot selection and needs to make better decisions with shooting and what to do in certain situations on offensive but other than that he’s not bad he’ll definitely learn and be better

Being the 4th or 5th best player as a true freshman who missed all of preseason and a chunk of the regular season in a power 5 conference actually proves that he’s a D1 player. I’m not contesting that he should be in the NBA right now. But you proved he is a D1 player with your comment.

@@TheFilmRoom1 you can be a D1 player and be buried on the bench still just saying. Everything he has has been straight up given and not earned. There's no way in hell with a straight face you could believe he would of even made it to USC let alone the fucking NBA with the talent he shows.

I don’t understand your argument. You just said he was the 4th or 5th best player on his team. That alone means he’s better than 7 other D1 Pac-12 players as an 18 year old. If he’s even that good, what does his dad have to do with him being there? Now if he got a scholarship & never played, you would have an argument. But because of what you said - you don’t.

You don't "develop" things like cutting to the rim or not stepping out of bounds, certainly not when you're already in the league. Bronny James has zero understanding of basic basketball strategy, and he's nowhere near big enough to make up for his woeful lack of basketball IQ. This video is nothing more than wishful thinking. In 4 games, the man has shown us nothing. He has no shot, no drive, and no ability to create shots on offense. He lacks hustle getting back, and he regularly gambles, reaches, hacks, and gets blown by on defense. He doesn't have anywhere near enough upside for a team to waste even one second on him. In the real world, he'd get cut immediately.
@TheFilmRoom1
@TheFilmRoom1 2 месяца назад
We will see how he develops. I don’t think the video had anything to do with wishful thinking. It was focused around him being unproductive & the reasons why. I also think he’s played poor defensively, and all the other specifics you’ve mentioned.
