I remember my very first competitive game back in 2017...I was playing ZEN on Illios: WELL, and I had a transcendence...I was on the one side of the well, my team that needed healing were on the other side of the hole, closer to the opponent's spawn....so what did I do? Popped transce and decided to go the fastest way "over" the well to save them, because zen in transce mode hovers above ground...went into a hole two seconds after popping an ult....you should have heard that laughter from people from both teams and even my ex girlfriend who actually brought me to the game and was kind enough to play comp with lvl 25 even though she was high plat :D Goddamn, I'll never forget that moment.

I was thinking like 5 deaths max. The well had the most kills that round 😂

I love how Flats didn’t say “I have a goodie for you today” or “Good morning RU-vid/stupid” (in the background) but we all know it’s a goodie when Flats is wheezing and dying of laughter for basically 90% of the video. Lmao, his laugh is so contagious it made me practically wheeze for a while as well. Thank you for making my day better Flats.

I love how the bots always say "thank you" before dying, like you're doing them a favor by killing them.

This is why OW2 is its own game. Jeff said the current engine gets so strained running the PVE events.

The bots not being able to see D.va bombs is amazing. Something I'd like to see is for someone to cast an Overwatch match without being able to see abilities. So you just see people fighting, and then for no reason they run for cover "oh I guess they must have D.va bombed". (Also good: "why is that zen just running into the middle of the team!?") It would be hard to do, since there are other signs -- D.va at full health suddenly not in mech, you know what's coming. Zen moving at 2x normal speed, you know what he's up to. But maybe some workshop genius could make it work :)

I love how in the first Ilios game, when the bots started just straight up jumping into the hole, a few bronzes started doing it for fun too. I have no idea why some of them did it as soon as the game began like TheFinalPam on D'va at 6:50, but after that they and a few others just dove in like it was the best water slide of their lives at 7:45. Absolutely hilarious

This is the part that I was waiting for. Watching it live was the highlight of my day lol

6:35 - 8:30 Was the funniest sequence I've seen in Overwatch in a long time. Oh man, I need a cough drop after that...

I get this video is over a year old now but as someone who finds game design very interesting, and has a rudimentary understanding of AI and mapping... my theory as to why the AI have so much issues with the well is that the well is functionally a cut out in the middle of the map that does kill you but it still has a bottom, unlike the edge of the map where it's pure void. The ai knows it is a drop and maybe know it's void so that's why you don't see them just walking walking into it. It's most often when they are doing abilities or jumping, because I have a feeling for whatever reason when the ai is doing anything other than walking they read the well as open air with a bottom. It's the same reason the ai spent so much time in the basement on the first map. Players aka targets could fall down there and survive so the ai had a reason to go there too. The players who fall into the well die too quickly for the ai to register and follow. I feel like if a Lucio was circling the well walls, ai would be falling in even more often. No clue if this is coherent and if someone knows actual ai and game design, feel free to correct me lol

This is the funniest OW content I've seen in quite some time and I think these videos for content are awesome

Yo Flats! I just had a cool idea for a RU-vid series. Idk if anyone has done something similar, but basically it would be an experiment to see how much communication matters vs skill. So the idea is to make a premade stack of bronze players (who get to comm) and put them against 6 random silver players (who don’t get to comm). If they beat the silvers then they play 6 random golds, then plats, etc. until they either lose or they beat the top 500 (but probably not lul).

If only we could have the OWL commentators join in on Illios
