Sometimes on rare occasions they suffocate. Mother hens aren’t gonna leave though without a fight. Edit: forgot to mention, he could definitely have picked the mother hen up better.

Looks like she wasn't done hatching her clutch. I have only ever removed one chick from a broody and that's only because it was the only egg, out of 8, that hatched and i placed it with other chicks I prviously ordered in a brooder. That being said, the best option is to let mama raise them if at all possible. I just had another clutch of 7 and they will stay with mom. She knows what to do and it's less work for me. 🙍

I am hatching chicken eggs from an incubator. They are pecking through as we speak. And this is what I saw. They need their mother's warmth. They don't even have lighting.
"Hatching chickens naturally" by picking the mother that clearly does not want you messing with her up by the feathers as a handle and taking her away from her clutch before all the eggs are even done hatching lmfao
Of course he picks them up i he sees a little chick i do that too to provide them off a warm place with food and water but i Treat my hens with respect the were Brooding 3 weeks i am very good friends with all my chickens and when the little chicks are ready for outside i put them by their mome how he picks up his hen she was screaming of pain he should not have chickens
don't understand why you had to be so aggressive with the hen though. Moreover, she was still in the process of hatching her eggs. We can still raise chicken with some love.
The butthurt city people need to chill in the comments section.Yes he did pick up the hen in a not so nice way but that was because if he tried to remove her gently she would still attack him and move a lot putting the little chicks into danger of getting squashed.He had two choices of either setting up food and water for the hen and the chicks or separate the chicks from the hen and give them a box,a lightbulb for warmth,food and water and him caring for the chicks which would result in all the chicks making it out to adulthood under human supervision.Maybe the hen has a history of not raising the chicks well and letting rats or other predators snatch them from her so the man choose to separate her from them.Next time you scream animal abuse or other bullshit think about why he did it since you clearly have no idea how this stuff works and i can surely tell most of you are from the city and the only animals you came into contact with are dogs cats and possibly parrots.
Seems kind of cruel to take them away from the mother after she spent 21 days sitting on the eggs and hatching them. They have a better chance at life being raised by their mother.

Sorry for my language but what the fuck man the hen has to stay with the chicks to teach them basics. Also you didn’t need to literally grab the hen so harshly. She sounded like she didn’t like it.
Omg! That was awful how you grabbed the momma off, you pulled her so cruel by her feathers, so very cruelty to animals! Then take away the babies from her momma while they haven't even fully hatched yet?! Why not let the momma raise them she will teach them how to eat, drink and keep them warm! This should be titled "How NOT to treat a broody and her newborn chicks! So cruel!!!
The way you took the mom away from the cutch was totally unacceptable but I guess the ethnic class you belong to that practice is acceptable. I wouldn't subscribe or give you a thumbs up.
