Ronn Moss said he was asked to take a significant paycut from the show. Which makes sense b/c the show had shifted from Brooke/ Ridge/ Taylor to Steffy/ Hope/Liam. The problem is people didn't like the younger generation as much as they did Brooke/ Ridge/ Taylor.
I've never liked the Ridge character, but at least Ronn was able to bring something to the character that T.K can't. His portrayal of Ridge now is arrogant and rude and ruthless. Look at his treatment towards Hope, he's cold and distant and it's almost as if he hates her for whatever reason. Say what you want about R.M's acting, but at least he cared for Hope and dare I say even loved her. But T.K's Ridge looks down on Hope and stares daggers at her in every scene. And even with Steffy and Thomas, there's no connection there at all, he's robotic and emotionless.
I always felt for Brooke.. she was treated horribly within the show. I was thought she was stunning. The epitamy of strength and beauty. Represented some people's reality well.. but in real life living it's too much drama for me. It showed though how people interfere in others relationships, the family power plays and especially the matriarch personality that many can relate to I'm sure with Stephanie. They showed the very real cunningness of women. For that I thank them. It was very realistic. Showing that the seemingly vilianous woman isnt always as they appear to be. Usually she was trying to protect her family. I believe it was a potential wake up call for parents about realities that do indeed exist within our world. When it turned out that black beauty had a dick.. I think I laughed. I can't remember her name that's what I called her.
