I totally get why Abby loved her so much! If her passion hadn't died and she didnt sustain a major injury she would have been absolutely incredible. Such a good solo!
Honestly those injuries are all Abbys fault. She didn’t teach Brooke how to properly do her tricks which led to REALLY bad injuries. It really proves Abby is only good with minis, because minis won’t be judged as harshly as a teenager is on technique.
Watching this makes me so happy and at the same time breaks my heart. You can just tell she was having the time of her life, and that passion was destroyed by Abby
She looks so happy here, it's crazy. And her ballet steps were great. It's good to see brooke dancing before she lost her passion and also a little bit sad. She did amazing and her facials 😍😍
@@evelingmickelinggonzalez1860 We all get the dance is Acro but if you didn’t look closely she did a few ballet steps onto her feet she did fifth position & second position don’t second second guess someone who is right.
I can see what Abby meant by "You make it look easy"! She looked so happy here, and every trick she did looked like she did it with such ease and grace. Great job Brooke! I know this is a old video but still..
1:35 watching this particular sequence I can’t help but see so many similarities between younger Brooke and Maddie. It makes sense how Abby saw so much potential in Brooke and how she was her favorite for so long..
it's honestly sad that brooke and maddie got burnt out they both could've gone to dance professionally i'm still happy for them and their current careers but they had so much potential when they were young
Watching this and never neverland makes me wonder where she’d be if Abby didn’t destroy her passion and actually conditioned her properly to avoid injuries like the issues she had in season 2. Her facials, tricks, etc. were probably the best we (as fans) have ever seen her perform!
I think she would have quit anyway. Very common for a whole bunch of kids to quit around that age when they discover new things and the activity becomes less fun and games and much more serious hard work
Something about the way she smiles in this solo warms my heart. But as the show began you could really tell Abby’s attitude took a toll on her. She wanted to do cheer (which most highschool girls do), then she wanted to sing (not to mention she literally made a song called I hurt), and now she doesn’t dance. Most of the girls don’t dance anymore but that was because they were burned out at such a young age. I hope Brooke and the rest of the girls are recovering from all that trauma.
She's built exactly like Paige here, and this reminds me so much of the types of solos Paige did! I have a feeling once Abby lost her love for Brooke, Paige (the second born) was her main priority. Until Maddie joined the competition team.
@@Jk_hbngfvg yes and their point is she was obviously capable of doing doing the facials. Rehearsed or not, it’s very hard to keep facials through out a routine and Abby made it seem like she was never able to do that.
okay seeing this I can DEFINITELY see how the growth plate injury affected her! She was built JUST like Paige! You would have expected her to grow up to be tall lanky. Not a foot shorter than her sister!
its sad to me because brooke is insecure about her height and her body. This could have been prevented if brooke had done proper warm up and rest days.
Brooke was and always will be my favorite girl from Dance Moms of all time. Every time I watch her solos from before the show, I feel this bitter sweet feeling because I’m so happy that she looked so confident and happy while performing but at the same time, it’s heartbreaking to know that the show sucked out all of her passion for dance. The bright side is that she is an adult now and doing much better in life. I follow her on social media and she seems really happy so go Brooke! #FanOfBrookeHylandForever ❤
Loved the costume, And the choreography. She’s an amazing dancer, I wish she never went to Abby’s studio.Her facials and everything is on pointe I loveee it ❤
Oh how the look of love and passion burned in her eyes, the way she loved and enjoyed what she was doing and brought out the best in her- it breaks my heart she lost her passion for this, because of the traumas she was caused
This is now one of my favorite solos from her. I love the costume! I don’t know why, but I can’t help to feel sad. She seemed so happy here. I can’t really blame her for losing a lot of the passion she had for dance though.
@@JordanJSparks doesn’t Brooke have those types of legs where they never fully straighten or is she actually not stretching her knees? I noticed she doesn’t it in a la second turn sequences in group dances as well.
Omg I’ve never seen Brooke so little!! She’s so cute. While it makes me happy to see her have fun here and see her passion, I honestly think that Brooke would’ve quite dance anyway even without Dance Moms. You could see from the first episode that Brooke was already starting to lose her passion due to wanting to explore other things like cheerleading and then she was (semi) forced to dance every week making it even more of a chore for her. So, while I would’ve loved for Brooke to keep dancing because she had real talent for it, I’m glad that she’s doing what she loves now and is less stressed.
This solo was so good!! You could feel she genuinely was happy here, once dance moms started you could tell she wasn’t happy and whenever she was on stage her smile was fake. It makes me so sad :( I also feel like the fact that Brooke had to dance with girls many years younger than her made it so that she wasn’t really challenged enough and didn’t improve during the show.
She looks so much happier when she was younger and not on dance moms and had great facial expressions. Also it’s so weird that she did so much acro and I think that’s why she was hurt in dance moms.
You can tell she was not faking a smile and she was smiling because she was having fun. This is why she used to be Abbys fav, if she didn't loose passion I bet she would've still be the fav.
Brook was so good , this is one of the best solos ever done by the girls, according to me . Her face was everything and the passion in each move not to mention all the acrobatic skills
so sad. she was so good here. She was always good, but this looks like a genuine smile with other great facials, and on the show it was ALWAYS a forced unnatural looking smile, and she always looked like she was struggling and in pain. I can't even watch her solos from the show because they're so boring and painful looking, and I've watched this like 3 times now, and it is so cute and entertaining. Maybe this type of dancing just isn't for older kids. I don't know, but It's sad to see how happy she was here and how miserable she looked on the show always.
The smile on her face through the whole dance, you can tell it wasn’t acting, she looked like she was having so much fun instead of dancing with all cameras everywhere!
ETA: whoops. I meant for this to go with a more lyrical solo I just watched. I’ll post it there, too, just don’t’ want y’all to wonder if I’m entirely crazy. Brooke was so much more than a mere contortionist or acrobat. The lightness with which she dances here, her fluidity, the way she dances with her entire body, and how, when she does aerials, step outs, leaps, etc., her gorgeous lines, turnout, toe/foot point, make it appear as if her legs are a mile long. If she needed time to heal an injury, and if in that time she lost some of the flexibility that the vast majority of dancers lose by, say, age 10, if they ever had it at all, who cares? Take out the acro tricks and there was STILL SO MUCH JOY AND BEAUTY IN HER DANCING. Here it’s 2023, I have absolutely no connection to the Hyland family or any of the people associated with Dance Moms, and seeing Brooke dance like this, and knowing what happened later, makes my heart ache.
I can understand Kelly's flashes of anger in the show that seemed misplaced/over the top now. Being stuck in that contract and the rigor the ALDC required prevented brooke from having a good HS/dance life balance and destroyed her passion
Brooke was like, a glaze in the wind. Honestly Brooke was a amazing dancer, abby had the right to make her the favorite for a while. Shes absolutely incredible on what she does.
Honestly, kenzie and lilly just really remind me of brooke - like we can tell that abby really did miss her former favourite student. But I feel like Brooke regressed during her time on dance moms, well maybe because she didn't want to dance with the minis. She was 13 dancing with 6-10 year olds like I'd be miserable too! Anyways I'm just looking at her solos before the show too see how good she was, and she looked really happy in solos like Swinging on a Star and Never Neverland - they were truly memorable. Lilly's press handstands and the fact the she was also a contortionist reminds me of Brooke, Kenzie's tumbling reminded me of Brooke too but I really want to see if she could do an aerial step-out (if that's the name) where brooke would land on one leg. She looked like she was having the time of her life doing this solo, that really makes me miss her old solos - she wouldn't force a smile or have the same moves repeated in all her 18 solos on dance moms, maybe I'd she had solos like Kalani's she would have improved and if she didn't keep doing contortion and acro she wouldn't have quit since the reason she probably stopped dancing was because she had so many injuries. Well, Brooke is growing up. She's moving to greater things, she's 24, she's already been pass this. She would've improved in the Senior Company or in another studio. - Dance moms fan.
Interesting that one of Abby’s lines on the show was “you can’t give her anything new, you just have to recycle the same crap she’s been doing since she was 8”.. definitely boxed Brooke in as an acro dancer and never knew how to develop her further
You can see as she’s got deeper into Abby’s life how the passion in her eyes died.But Brook did amazing in all of her dances.it just shows how just one person can ruin the passion and want to learn.
This was soooo good! You can clearly see why she was the favourite before maddie. So sad that by the time the show started abby had already destroyed her passion.
