i think what determines if other people enhance or diminish the experience of a concert is where the music originated. like hardcore music is inextricably linked to local scenes, and as such local shows and moshing and being physically close to other people, so moshing makes the experience better. but if some other music is spawned from solitary creative work, i think other can people can be a hindrance to ones' personal relationship with the art
i appreciate this nuance for sure; def could see how in certain contexts this would be more desirable to have more crowd interaction and also how local music develops with the scene. i think it’s like people not reading the room more so than any one specific behavour ::) appreciate your thoughtful comment

I'm pretty glad I don't have a background in psychoanalysis because there's a whole lot to unpick in this travelogue. I loved your comments at the end about youtube and being alone. I never got that. Also the idea of being open, as an artist, to the world of experiences presented by our surroundings compared to the interactions we have with people. When to let them in.
