interesting the Hoyt Schermehorn st station has a police substation right there IN THE STATION. Officers making their rounds ran TOWARDS the gun fire ( not away as in the red state school shootings in Florida and Texas). @@cameronspence4977 they ere quickly joined by their collegues from the precinct that is on the same block as that subway station. I witnessed a woman being chased by a guy one evening last year in downtown brooklyn not far from there. the police were on the scene nearly instantly- like in 2 to 3 minutes. I guess defunding them has made them "lean and mean" and quick to react

This guy, who wont be charged, was lucky to have Sherry and other people recording the fight with their phones. Some subway cars have surveillance cameras installed, but the installation won't be completed for all cars until 2025. Thank you NYPD for charging into the scene to assist.

3 years ago on fathers day, my daughter took me to downtown Chicago. I had never riden the trains here. We get on the train and set down and I just glanced around and my daughter said, Daddy just keep looking downward or straight ahead. I was floored. I said, are you kidding me and she said no, because I know if someone attacks us you will shoot them, and she was right. In a blink of an eye I would. That Nordstrand station is a total hell hole. People stand around that station all day waiting to sneak in - usually ROUGH men. I used to ride that train all the time pre-pandemic. It was a hell hole then and I knew post pandemic that riding that train to Brooklyn to work was one of the first things in my safety first survival strategy that was going to have to go bye bye. Very SELDOM do I commute to Brooklyn. It's just not safe.

Glad I got out of there a long time ago. I don't even know any of my friends growing up that live there anymore. Everyone I know left years ago.
