This is the tribute video that was played for Dale Earnhardt during the 1993 NASCAR Awards Banquet (his 6th title). This video includes a rare extra verse at the end that I don't believe was included in any Brooks & Dunn release.
This man was the ultimate driver and my Hero. Talented....there are no words for what he did. I met him 7 times and every time it was an honor to be in his presence. Dale....never will be another. You will be missed forever.
Oh so true in our eyes! Dale Earnhardt Sr was our favorite and the best Nascar driver in our eyes. We watched and love and loved him thru the years..even our service dog Sugar Bear watched her "Uncle" Dale watched with Jerry and me..Gloria. Dale Sr was our man. When Dale died our watching and enjoying was gone. All three of us was out on the deck and looked up in the sky above the day Dale was lost and watched a sailing star go south to north. We felt it was Dale racing above so we felt that was our Dale Sr. In spite of heavy hearts from losing Dale we all felt comforted. Our way Dale let us know he was in Heaven with Neil Bonnett racing. A night and a day to remember Dale Earnhardt Sr. We loved him then and we love him still . Now Jerry and Sugar Bear have joined Dale and Neil and all are enjoying the heavens above. Awaiting our turn-- Gloria and Bear from Texas
@@Jessup004 Not so to us. Dale Sr was devoted to his fans of which the Oppermans from Texas will always love and miss him. Dale always remembered his roots and he supported the common people. The Oppermans from Texas will always love and miss you Dale Earnhardt, Sr Jerry and Sugar Bear and Gloria and Bear from Texas
@gloriaannopperman2734 why was it when I was a little kid I waited for several hours to get his autograph and when I got up to him and was the last person in the line he cussed me and said he was done and wasn't going to sign anything I had. Yeah I called him a asshole for that and my parents agreed with me but hebsaid I should have gotten in the line sooner. So yeah he was stuck up........
Had Nascar stood up to him an forced EVERYONE to wear full face helmets and the neck restraints he'd likely still be alive and Nascar wouldn't have had to go so far overboard in safety or use all the ridiculous gimmicks they do now to attract viewers
Neil Bonnett walking with him at one point, two great racers, went well before their time :( I am so lucky even as a small child I got to see the last of the Great Racers win a race and run as fast as they could
Got to watch him run at Talladega in the fall of 1998, my only time. Great day in my life even though he didn't win. Anyone who hasn't been to a Talledega race weekend is missing the time of their life. The whole town comes out.
Richard petty the best there ever was ,look at the wins and championships Earnhardt not even close to wins. I'm a Earnhardt Sr fan also, but petty is the best ,still the king.
@@lskiller1903 I am a lifelong racing fan and a historian. David only ran full circuit 3 years in which in won championship all 3 years, david didn't like traveling out of the south. He never stayed with same team very long. He only started 570 races and won 105 and at the end really had some terrible cars. Anybody that really questions or argues David not the best really dont have a clue of the history. I am a diehard Earnhardt fan but it dont take much research and knowing racing to know david pearson is the greatest stock car driver that ever lived. You sir are exactly correct.
That's our Dale Sr! Dale and my Jerry and Kix Brooks could have been triplets! They looked so much alike in looks and toughness! Great video and it's a keeper for me! The smile on Dale's face was priceless! We love him and will always love our Dale Sr! Our saddest time on February 18th 2001 was losing our beloved Dale Earnhardt Sr! Good looking men Jerry and Dale Earnhardt Sr. and Kix Brooks! Gloria from Tx
I still cry watching my hero win the daytona 500 only y thing that makes me cry more is remembering the day he died a huge partof my Hart died I'm that day.rest in peace intimadator I'll always miss you and your number 3.
Dale Sr will always be the best of all time for us!! Our hero Dale Earnhardt Sr. The Oppermans from Texas will always love and miss you Dale Earnhardt Sr, your devoted fans forever
That's why NASCAR needs to put Dale Jr as a leader in the sport since anything he says most of NASCAR Fans agree with his opinion and perspective on situations that come up all year long him and Burton can put this sport back on track where it belongs not in a damn wrestling ring
A carbon copy of my sweet hubby Jerry! Such an uncanny resemblance between these two guys! My hubby joined Dale in Heaven in 2018 and our sweet service dog Sugar Bear joined Dale and Jerry as well! Well done and fitting for Dale Earnhardt Sr! Our forever fave! RIP sir with the Angels! Tx fan Gloria
Lee Meister What is stupid about my statement, not like JR is representing Earnhardt and family, he joined the "rainbow" warriors so no, not a stupid statement. Let me guess you love Vaseline as well eh?
#1 Jr has the same fan base as his father. The fans that were Seniors are now Jr's with obviously a few exceptions like yourself. # 2 He is his own person. He has done well and has added another dimension to the Earnhardt name and legacy. #3 I believe his father would be very proud of him. He may have done better if his father would have lived and kept DEI but alas that did not happen. #4 No one will ever replace the Intimidator, not even Jr.--So if your waiting for that to happen, you'll die first dude. As for the vaseline--You will have to ask your wife about that!!
And nascar to this day cant figure out when they started dying. Gloves off and race. Everyone is sick of the rules. Get cars from the showroom floor and make it nascar again.
He was the best driver that ever raced I learned a lot from him I still pull some of his moves when these young boys want to street race with me lol if u know how to race and u learn from the best u can take a V6 and out do a V8 it's not the car it's all about the driver
i have to say dale sr is my fave nascar driver in the world, me and my mom love him, sad that he is gone but we still love hime, but next in line jhimmy jhonson
God only made one and He called him back to race for Him. Best looking sexy Nascar driver Dale Earnhardt Sr who could sing well and look so good on the track and working on his farm. The Oppermans from Texas will always love and miss you Dale Earnhardt Sr, your devoted fans forever. Jerry and Sugar Bear and Gloria and Bear from Texas
Nascar died, that sad Sunday. Love him, hate him, DALE WAS THE VERY BEST!! We lost an icon, a HERO, a REAL MAN, THE INTIMIDATOR!! I was at Talladega for his 10th and last win. Just ain't the same without DALE!!
I had there honor to have a friend that never changed since first win to last win just someone that always asked want he could I do or help with daily since the day my father passed away !!! I miss my brother Dale and can't till we meet a again to tell how I finally sit down a finally hunting rifle to good use and the person to amazing rifle was passed on to.
you know I was on a Jeff Gordon video and a guy said that Jeff Gordon built Hendrick well freaking Jeff Gordon had a little bit of luck with him but freaking Dale built rcr from the ground up
I'm reminded of a statement Bob Costas made in Ken Burns' Baseball documentary regarding the great players of the 30's-50's. I'll paraphrase it here as I've already had similar conversations with younger people in recent years. Dale Earnhardt was well into his prime when I began following NASCAR at age 4 in 1988. Gordon? Good driver and an even better human being. Stewart? The most purely talented driver after 2001. Johnson? Benefactor of a gimmicked system. Larson? Probably the best talent of his generation. You never saw Earnhardt kid. You never saw the real thing.
felt sad for his family. and for my fav racer who won Daytona and had his win had his life messed up because Dale died that day. one thing about it though, his death saved so many racers lives.
