This was an exceptionally helpful video. Much more practical and hands on then most, yet concise and to the point. Wish all vids were like this one!! Thanks
Wow!! I am getting my New Luminaire XP2 this coming Wednesday Oct 27th I can't wait to see more tutorials on what I can do with it. Thank you. Wonderful Tutorial!, Betty
You did a wonderful job on this video. I'm seriously considering getting a Luminaire 2. Right now I'm sewing on a Dream Machine. Love that and will keep that one too. All the info you gave is certainly helping me make a decision. Thank you so much for all the useful information.
OMG! I just purchased my Brother Luminaire XP2 today. I am so lost but your video tutorial is so fantastic. Love the machine. First time with Brother Sewing Machine. I own a Bernina (30 yrs old) and Husqvarna Viking Rose Machine (25 yrs old) and never use the embroidery section. I started sewing 13 years old (now 64). I am so excited to learn to embroider now. This will be my retirement gift for myself. I debated purchasing a Viking Epic 2 and Brother Luminaire XP2. I watched the comparison on RU-vid between these machines. Thank you for sharing your knowledge. ❤️❤️❤️
Beth! I bought a Bernina 790 plus last year and not happy with it at all. I do sew dresses for my kids and like to do thick materials - do you feel this machine would suffice. Bernina was recommended and I’m kicking myself for purchasing
Thank you for such a comprehensive walk-through demonstration.... don’t be discouraged with the price brother has financing available sometimes check with your dealers. Having great local support like this company is everything.
Thank you so much for going through all that.I have got the Luminaire1&did upgrade it to the 2.You did a great job there. Thank you for that. Caroline(Queensland,Australia)
Thanks so much for this video - by far the most encompassing demo of the cool features on this machine. Is there a video explaining what features the XP3 upgrade kit would add to the XP2?
On my wishlist. Also on everyone else’s, because it’s too expensive for most people’s budgets. I love that machine, I know someone who has version 1. If anyone can afford one, get it!
Great video - thank you very much. I have a question please - at the very end of the video you clearly and categorically state that I can upgrade my XP1 to XP2 - so there are major technical (components) difference between XP1 and XP2, example powerful projector with differential light for different fabrics, lots of additional designs, three-colour multi-thread embroidery system vs XP1 has only 1 colour thread (at a time) embroidery system. How can a XP2 upgrade kit actually upgrades the physical projector features and other features? Please clarify. Can you also 100% confirm that all the "new features" you demonstrated in this video for XP2 are 100% going to be enabled on my XP1 if I get an upgrade kit? Thanks
The upgrade for XP1 to XP2 performs software updates that give your machine more capabilities, such as the expanded quilt sashing feature etc. If you purchase the upgrade for your XP1 it will have all of the software features of the XP2. ~Reva
Hello, I just found this video, as I'm looking for an embroidery machine that will embroider my own hand drawn graphics. Is there another machine/company that has that feature? Thanks.
The Luminaire XP2 is Brother's top-of-the-line sewing and embroidery combination machine, whereas the Stellaire XJ1 is a step below that. The XP2 has more built-in stitches and embroidery designs, a few more advanced features, a larger maximum embroidery area, and a slightly larger workspace.
What is the piercing power of this machine? I would appreciate if this machine had the piercing power of an industrial machine. I sew a lot of bags and sometimes I need to go through 16 (or more) layers of leather, stabilizator and interfacing.
This machine is a great sewing machine and has lots of wonderful features. But if you are looking for something to easily stitch through the many layers of fabric that you mentioned, I would Suggest the Viking Epic 2, Pfaff Icon or Performance Icon, Janome M7 or Janome HD9, and the Juki 2020 for your consideration. All of these have incredible needle piercing power. www.qualitysewing.com/
Unfortunately, Brother doesn't allow the price of these machines to be given out over the internet. You'll need to contact your local Brother dealer directly to learn the price of this machine.
Some machines we are able to ship across the US and into Canada. However, the XP2 machine you would need to purchase at your local dealer as we cannot ship that machine.
@@Dahna_ It’s so AMAZING. I was beyond belief that Brother can engineered such an fantastic sewing machine. I hope to live long enough to teach my only granddaughter (1 yr old) how to sew. I started sewing at age 13 now 64 yrs old.
@@bethserran congratulations! yes sewing is a gift that keeps on giving. Its like riding a bike. Its such a shame that a lot of women don't really have the time until their later years to really enjoy it. My grandmother taught me at about age 8 . I loved making my own creations so I could have one of a kind designs to go to school in. lol even though modern machines are wonderful I still appreciate antique machines too. I can hardly believe this new technology.
@@bethserran Just checked and the price here is Au$20,200.00, so I'll stay with Janome. I also think for that purchase price they should include a printed manual, that's a ripoff! Congrats Beth, you've worked long and hard to get this machine, truly hope it lives up to expectations. ;-))
@@Paula19482 If you go to our website (link below) and scroll over to the second image on the page you will see the machine without the embroidery unit. Thanks! www.qualitysewing.com/brother-luminaire-innov-is-xp2-sewing-quilting-embroidery-machine.html
Brother Luminaire Xp2 is an amazing sewing & embroidery machine. This sewing is engineered only for experienced sewers not for beginners. The ONLY negative review on this machine is NO owners manual. Most sewers would like to be able to read directions on machine operation anywhere they please, not while sewing or near the machine. The previous model came with a playbook for $300 which I purchased. Not the best owners manual. I wish I can returned it for refund. It is cheaper to just purchase an IPAD. Machine operating manual should be by itself. Embroidery and quilting manual should be published too. Think hard before you decide to spend so much money on this machine.
So how do you change size. Adjust. Can’t see icon image you’re pushing. We need better camera work. See reflection of light bulbs. How’d you add the fill. I guess this isn’t a teaching demo. Just here’s what the machine can do. Not how to do it.
Thank you for your feedback. This video was to show the features of the machine. It was not a step-by-step how to use it. If you have specific questions about your machine feel free to give us a call as we are happy to help 1-800-687-5175
