Tank you for taking the time out to do an unboxing and review of this printer. You have helped me out no end, as I am looking for a multi function printer for myself. It's good to have a review about a product by someone that actually knows what they are talking about.

What an excellent video. Your Brother machine is a different model number from mine but they are almost identical. I learned so much from you in just over half an hour! That's how demo's should be and I thank you for your time in making and showing this video. A quick intro.. I'm an artist. I don't print vast quantities of stuff like a small office would, but I do print 'casually' quite a lot! I collect loads of reference images and I do like to experiment with printing on different surfaces for use in my art projects: paper, card, textures & even transparencies. Stuff I can safely put thru a printer (I do research first!). I have always wanted a laser printer and finally got one. I unboxed my new DCP-L3760CDW over an hour ago and it's now sitting in front of me as I watch this video. No cables or power yet, just straight out of the box. Hopefully will tackle all that tomorrow. I already have a Brother DCP-J4120DW inkjet which is a pretty good machine. However, I've always had problems when trying to match colours - what I see onscreen is not what prints out! Could be due to my inexperience with settings, or wrong paper, whatever. That's about my only issue with the inkjet. (Oh, and of course, ink cartridges.) Anyhoo, that's another story. The inkjet is connected to my desktop pc (Win10) via USB. Now please don't laugh at me for asking the following questions! There's no point in pretending I know stuff when I don't. But I do learn eventually! How do I go about connecting these 2 printers to one pc so I can select one or the other at any given time? How do I update the new laser printer if I have only 1 internet connection cable in the pc? The modem or router (not sure which) is in the next room. Can I add another (extension or hub) in my room? Do I even need another? It's only me using the pc & printer/s so am I right in assuming I don't need Shared or Network? The new laser does Wireless but I'm not entirely sure what that means or entails! For me, this new printer set me back more than a few quid so I won't be attempting anything until I'm confident enough. I'm no tech-head but I'm not daft - I just need some support from someone I can trust so I can take these steps with confidence. Please will you help me understand the connection thing so I can set up the 2 printers?! 🥺

Q: How do I go about connecting these 2 printers to one pc so I can select one or the other at any given time? A: You connect the printers and the PC to the network. It is not necessary to connect both printers directly to the PC. However, you can still do this using USB. Q: How do I update the new laser printer if I have only 1 internet connection cable in the pc? The modem or router (not sure which) is in the next room. Can I add another (extension or hub) in my room? Do I even need another? A: Buy a small 4-port switch - they are very cheap. Plug your internet cable, you PC and your printers into the switch. Q: It's only me using the pc & printer/s so am I right in assuming I don't need Shared or Network? A: Correct. You can connect directly using USB. However, if you have more than one printer and want to be able to update the printer firmware then it makes sense to connect everything to the network. Q: The new laser does Wireless but I'm not entirely sure what that means or entails! A: It just means that you can connect the printer wirelessly to the network just like you would with your laptop or phone. It is not that difficult For me, this new printer set me back more than a few quid so I won't be attempting anything until I'm confident enough. I'm no tech-head but I'm not daft - I just need some support from someone I can trust so I can take these steps with confidence. Please will you help me understand the connection thing so I can set up the 2 printers?! 🥺

You mentioned that there are some bad compatibles, so who/where would you recommend to go for good compatible toners?

Yes it’s heavy…….thankfully you won’t need to lift it very often so it’s not an issue. About 25kg if I remember right.

@@aquanick2001 My comment to the creator was a tongue in cheek remark, as he did mention in the video multiple times how heavy it was! However, I appreciate your reply, though I have since purchased the J6940DW. If you think your printer is heavy, this beast took two of us to get it out the box! It's a monster!

Pretty reliable machines, it's not really months, it's more with usage, similar to mileage on a car, with printers it's per print rather than per mile.

Would you recommend this for casual home use ? I want to be done with inkjets because of the cartridges and print heads but i am not sure if the Investment is worth over just paying every time i want a print.

Solid & reliable machines, however in my opinion expensive to run if you print a lot of documents, but fine for light use.

Hello brother. Thank you for a great video. I had a question if you could answer. Can it scan A3 / papers that are larger than A4? Do I have to do it one by one or it can do auto scanning?

How do i fix the thick black vertical lines issue
@theofficeequipmentengineer7000
@theofficeequipmentengineer7000 11 месяцев назад
remove the drum unit and clean the corona wire with the plastic cleaner that is provided within the drum unit, also reseat the toner within the drum unit, do not touch the drum, and do not clean the drum, if that does not work, it maybe a faulty drum
@rumorscameras
@rumorscameras 9 месяцев назад
what part of led uses electricity, the toner is heated to fuse on the paper the laser or led dnt have energy con diff
@theofficeequipmentengineer7000
@theofficeequipmentengineer7000 9 месяцев назад
It's not really the LED's that use the electricity, it's the fuser unit, it's not like the old days of filament lamps that would switch on and hold the temp at around 210 degrees Celsius, it's more of an induction heat process, which is more efficient, but it's still very high compared to an inkjet
