@@AnnaMorris411 the newer DX models will allow you to simply save to a USB stick! So that way you don't need to mess with the software and screenshots!

It's the 650 but I totally over paid for mine! I tell folks to just get the cheapest one because they all scan great. Plus with the software you can download any shape to cut! Thanks so much for watching and commenting!

I have my original mats -- I tape down the image that I am cutting around. Works fine. I did replace the scanning (non-tack) mat because it got a little bent from scanning scrapbook pages.

After you have scanned your shape, you can select the outline distance option (two nested circles). See these step by step instructions --- reddinup.com/scanncut/fussycut/ I pick the 0.04 so that it does just a little border around the image. For the cutting all the way through, try checking the blade. It may have some debris on it. I have the 650 and have to manually dial my blade, I can turn it to a larger number so the blade is deeper.

The machine does not print. But you can send the design to your PC then print and use the machine to cut the larger size.

Yes! You can set the size of margin to cut --- can do exactly on the line too!

Mine is the CM650W. Has a lot of built in shapes but not needed. I tell folks to get the cheapest model since they all scan and cut.

Is sugar paste like fondant icing? I'm not sure how thick it is. The Brother Scan N Cut can cut anything a Cricut machine can cut. If the sugar paste is sticky, I cannot imagine using any machine to cut it.

I would recommend finding a Brother Dealer near you. Search for sewing shops that carry Brother equipment. Or a quicker method is to order from Amazon -- amzn.to/45eyjIY -- I make a few dollars if you use my link. Here is a machine comparison -- reddinup.com/scanncut/ -- on my website. You will only need the small machine (should be under $300) if you want to use it to scan. The larger (more expensive machines) only have more images but you can use your own images and download. My machine is the Brother Scan N Cut model CM650W. It is several years old.

The Brother Scan and Cut is not perfect, for sure. I use both my Cricut and Scan N Cut! I am really loving the scan option in the Brother for scanning my scrapbook pages too.

It is the CM650W. Got it several years ago. Later learned that I only needed the 350 model, much cheaper. Oh no! I'm so sorry this is happening!

Cricut did switch years ago to the subscription model -- which many software companies have done. I use Microsoft Office, Quicken, and McAfee and I'm done with the annual expense too! I've had no additional expenses with my Scan N Cut. The software is free and you can bring in other shapes (via the USB port and the software). I've been using my original mats and I use tape to keep my paper in place. Works great! I tell folks to try out the Cricut, Silhoutte, and Brother software before they purchase the machine. They are all very similar, you just need the one that fits your budget and style of software. Good luck! Thanks for watching!!
